About

Train are a Grammy Award-winning rock band who have released 11 studio albums, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Formed in San Francisco in 1993, Train released their self-titled debut in 1998, but they broke through to the mainstream with their 2001 follow-up, Drops of Jupiter, which became their first of six Top 10 albums behind their seven-time platinum single of the same name. To date, Train have logged six Top 20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and four No. 1 songs on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, including 2003’s “Calling All Angels” and 2009’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” The group has embraced various genres through collaborations with leading country artists like Martina McBride, Ashley Monroe and Tenille Townes, rapper Travie McCoy and pop singers such as Sofía Reyes and Cam. Train have gone on tour nearly every year since 1996, playing in over 25 countries and sharing the bill with the likes of Hall & Oates, Goo Goo Dolls and Jewel. As of 2024, the band is made up of founding frontman Pat Monahan, Taylor Locke (guitar and vocals), Hector Maldonado (bass and vocals), Jerry Becker (keyboards and guitar), and Matt Musty (drums).

  • REO Rocks Orange Beach

by Bundo on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

REO Speedwagon rocked Orange Beach last Friday night. They played most of the favorites in their set and sounded really, really good--vocals as well as music sounded clear and crisp at an outdoor venue. While I'm not familiar with Train or their music, the crowd seemed really fired up and enjoyed their set. Yacht Rock was a great opener and played many different covers well with great enthusiasm. I always enjoy the Wharf.

  • Great show but train was not at their best..

by Me on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Good concert but train was hoarse and I feel the experience was not as great as it should have been.

  • Great Show!

by JKramer on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Pats voice was a Tad Graspy but they put on a great show we had a really good time aside from Everything at The Wharf being extremely Pricey. This is the 4th time we have seen them there,so they didn’t disappoint.

  • Group was amazing

First time seeing Train live and they did not disappoint! Amazing sound and energy.

  • Amazing! A Blast From the Past!!

We had an amazing time. Brought back memories. I would definitely go again!

  • Train Rocked it!

by Tiff on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

We had never been to a Train concert before and wasn’t sure what to expect. I have to say they didn’t disappoint and put on one heck of a show. They sounded just like they do on the radio and the lead singer said he was having voice issues but you would have never known if he didn’t tell us.

  • First time I’ve seen this after hundreds of concerts

    by i4Ni on 8/26/24Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Train put on a great show but the band did one thing that was remarkable that I’ve never seen at any of the hundreds of concerts I have attended over 50 years. There was a 12-year-old girl in the front row, holding a sign that read “ Pick me to sing ‘ Marry Me’ “ and that’s what the lead singer did. The poise and delivery she did was incredible along with Pat Monahan. The 5000 fans at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville went nuts. Pat even quipped that he had a 12-year-old son, intimating that the two might get together which the audience laughed at. I was lucky enough to have bumped into her on the way out of the venue and was able to get a selfie with her and her sign. It’s something I won’t soon forget. The thought too that that little experiment could’ve gone sideways is also possible. I don’t know if they’ve tried this at other events, but it was pulled off brilliantly. Beyond that, they did all their hits and the show was worthwhile.

  • Pleasant surprise

by Kayti on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Honestly wasn’t expecting much but your typical concert vibe but was definitely surprised. This concert was so much fun. They put on a great performance.

  • It was my birthdays and the concert was the perfect gift!

by Cris on 8/26/24Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Parking was easy and lines to get in were not long. Venue is open, airy and fun to walk around. Lots of vendors but prices are high as expected. Opening Band started precisely at 7:30 and performed old hits that everyone enjoyed. Just a short intermission and Train waked into stage. Lots of energy, great interactions with the audience, sweet moment when Pat invited a young fan to perform Marry Me with the band on stage. Everyone loved it. Great setlist, more songs added to what was released days before. Overall great experience!

  • Good Show

by 2Scoopz on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 4 out of 5

It was a good show, though Train had to cut the set short due to Pat catching some kind of bug that had his throat hurting. Both bands were really good.

  • Enjoyable

by Terri on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 3 out of 5

I loved the concert. I did not give the rating five stars because I had to pay enormous prices for water. And, I was forced to pay for water with my credit card. I would have paid cash, if they would have allowed it.

  • Train was great

by mrs.tombrady on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Train was great. The lead singer was losing his voice, but he still managed to put on a great performance. You could tell he was disappointed, but I appreciate that he kept going. Would definitely see them again. I was not impressed with REO Speedwagon. I wouldn't pay to see them again.

  • great concert and great evening

by kb on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best. It was the first time we had seen Yacht Rock Review and they were great. Reo Speedwagon definitely showed us that they could still rock and roll. Train was amazing. We have seen them numerous times and it never grows old. I will always be a Train fan. I felt bad that Pat Monahan was not feeling well but he handled the situation very professionally.

  • Train at The Wharf in Orange Beach

by The Train, train! on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Great night and so much fun! Pat pushed out some nice vocals, even though he wasn’t feeling well. Authentic night with joy for all in attendees.

  • Fantastic Concert!

by PJK on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

What a great night! After their opening song, Pat shared with the audience that he was having throat issues and the he was going to give it his all to give the audience a great performance and he did!! We could tell he was struggling but he fought through it with everything he had and did a fabulous job!! It was also really fun when the opening band, Yacht Rock Revue came on and performed with the Train team! Pat got on the drums and the combined bands jammed. It was awesome!! I also want to give kudos to REO who gave a great performance as well!!!

  • Great

by Teresa on 8/26/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great. Unfortunately, Pat was having throat issues and he could not put out his best voice. I loved to see Train in perfect form .
