I really thought this was going to be a solo tour--just Tori and her piano, which is incredibly intimate and beautiful. However, she was accompanied by her bassist and drummer, which distract from her music. Furthermore, I bought tickets to three shows and the setlists displayed very little variation from show to show--unlike in previous tours. I've come to the realization that with the production of the last three albums, I now dislike more songs than I like. I adore this artist, but, sadly, I feel like it's time to say goodbye now. I doubt I'll be seeing her again in the future.

There is no one else like Tori! She always gives a wonderful show and really connects with the audience. I love her!

Tori Amos once as she always does gave a fantastic performance. Her talent is unbelievable and her ability to connect with her audience is unlike any other artist. She plays two pianos at the same time while singing and sounds amazing. I don't know anyone else who can do what she does. The lighting design for the show was beautiful and complimented the music wonderfully. Overall, this is a must see show!

This is the 8th time that I have seen Tori in concert and she continues to amaze me. I would like to say I'm her biggest fan, but I know there are some crazies out there. Let's say this, this is definitely my favortie artist and I never miss her when she comes to LA.

  • Amazing as always!!!

I have loved Tori's music since I first got Little Earthquakes when I was 10 years old. I have seen her before, and she never disappoints. She didn't play much of the new album, but that's okay. Any song she plays for you is a gift. Thank you Tori!!!!!!!

  • Tori Amos rocked The Greek

by eema on 7/19/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show! I loved the set list and the venue was awesome! (Just get there early to park!) Tori seemed very happy to be there, and she had a lot of energy. I thought her outfit was amazing with the long white dress over the shiny leggings... there was black flowing fabric draping across her shoulders. And the SHOES!!! WOW! Everything was perfect! I loved Liquid Diamonds and Sugar! Can't wait until she comes back our way! :)

  • Tori = Amazing (as always)

by SurfnLT on 7/19/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The overall show was more than expected. Only drawback was that the show started early, at 8:20. Other than that, a definite "must see!"

  • An A+ for Amos

by BobbyDiesel on 7/19/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Coming from a Dead head/ Steely Dan fan, I hope this lends some insight. Short and sweet; the show was phenom, Tori owned the stage and it doesn't get much better than a stellar act at the Greek. If you can still catch her than do it!

  • Tori is amazing!

Tori was wonderful to see at the Humphrey's venue. Great show, ok setlist. Overall wonderful experience. Best Tori show yet.

  • Tori was TOP NOTCH!

by Bryarose on 7/19/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Tori never fails to disappoint me. With her huge repertoire of songs, I wondered if I'd ever hear my favorite song, ' 1000 Oceans ' which helped heal me emotionally when my Mom died. When I heard the song begin, I sank in my seat, covered my hands over my mouth and began to cry. I normally do not cry and my Niece, who was with me was taken aback. I was sort of embarrassed but then I realized, no one was paying any attention to me anyway. This by far was my favorite Tori concert to date. Thank you as always, Tori!

  • Finally, another GREAT concert!

by AnotherToriFan on 7/19/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Honestly, I was a little leery of going to another Tori show as I was pretty disappointed with the last two tours. My first live performance was during the 1999 Tori/Alanis tour...simply awesome duo. I went to four shows during the 2002-2003 tour and must say that the shows were so incredible that I often wish I could go back in time just to go to those concerts again. The best was at the Greek Theater when I sat in the 6th row center....whew! The next tour was a couple of years later when Tori did the shows without her band. I don't know what happened but she seemed very lethargic about the performance and even forgot some of the words to "Silent all These Years". For American Doll Posse she played at the Nokia Theater in LA. The show was better and I enjoyed it but didn't appreciate the costume changes, intermission music and I think they had changed microphones sometime before that. So now we come to July 17, 2009 at the Greek in LA. The old microphones were back, no costumes for the multiple personalities of Pip. Instead, just Tori tell her wonderful stories the way only she can do with a voice that is beautiful, aggressive and understanding all at the same time. Her quirky personality really shined through with so much energy. She played so many songs that I had longed to hear live including Space Dog....loved that one and ended with one of my favorite songs from Little Earthquakes. I wish she would come to LA again during this tour. I already knew this but I'll keep going to Tori Amos concerts until she stops touring. She is by far the best live performer I've ever heard.

  • Tori is a prodigy

by brnidmel on 7/19/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

My mom got tickets for my boyfriend and I to go to this show for my 31st birthday because she knows that I've been a long time fan of Tori's and have seen her about 3 times prior (even WITH my mom). "Little Earthquakes" (the song) is my favorite song in the world and yet I've never heard her play it live (side note). I really loved the show, as did my boyfriend who is incredibly unfamiliar with Tori's work. The Greek Theater is always a treat and last night was no exception; it is lovely outside and the venue is clean and cozy. I felt that Tori could've done some more of her older material (from Little Earthquakes through Venus And Back) but alas, artists tend to tour to showcase their newer material but I think her older stuff is far superior. Either way, she's insanely talented (a bit more and more eccentric I think but...nonetheless...) and that is evident in her every motion and she's just breathtaking; the experience was really good but just not mind blowing for me.

  • tori amos was interesting and entertaining !

by brewmaster on 7/18/09Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

My family and I really enjoyed the concert! We didn't know a lot about Tori and her band, just knew we liked Big Wheel and her voice! So to see her was very cool and exciting! loved the way she made her grand appearance, it was filled with suspense and I loved it ! Had no idea she was so talented! I love how there was emotion in her and her body as she play the piano, the keyboard and or organ and of course her voice!

  • Can't wait for her to come back to SD.

by Scumdog on 7/18/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Fantiastic show as always from Tori but this time she seemed even better than usual. She played and sang absolutely flawlessly. I liked the more intimate venue at Humphreys as well. This was my first time there. She surprised me by not playing some songs like "Welcome to England", "Maybe California", & "Curtain Call". But then she also surprised me by some songs that she did play. like "Little Earthquakes" which I've seen her 5 times & I don't think she'd played it yet. Also "Caught a Light Sneeze" & whatever the song was that she played for her brother. I don't think I've ever heard that song before & it was an awesome moment. I love Tori and hope she keeps going strong & hope she keeps coming back to SD!

  • Tori Rocked The Greek

by fscalpi on 7/18/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This is my third time seeing her over the years on tour and this was the best concert. I think she is the best performer seen live. In this concert she manage to sing most of my favorite out of a very large song catalog. I like the fact that she was only backed up by two musicians who where excellent by the way. Without a large band the focus was on her and the music she produced. Her vocal styling is excellent and unique to her. She is a top musician and has long mastered the piano and organ. As a stage performer she is "Mezzmerizing". She did an interlude of unique music before breaking into a song which was a very nice touch. Once the audience her the familiar part of the song they of course broke out into applause and anticipation. I was surprise that she did not do the title song from her new album "WELCOME TO ENGLAND". Her song set was extremely generous and she treated us to a journey through her incredible music catalog. She is one performer I will never miss live or in recordings.

  • Tori At Her Best

by socaliscorpio on 7/18/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Tori is back to what she is good at with this tour...ethereal magic as sung by Tori herself, verses the 'characters' of her last album/tour. She sang some great classics, including Liquid Diamonds which I had never heard live before, and the classic China and Tear in Your Hand from her first album. Amazing show!

  • After 18 years Torl STILL brings it ...

by clichehandle on 7/18/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I remember 4 AM, 1991, Channel surfing to battle insomnia, and there she was. It was the video for Silent All These Years and I found my goddess. Who WAS this beautiful woman, with such amazing talent and that haunting voice? I was hooked ever since. I've seen her a multitude of times over the years and she never fails to deliver. Whether it's just her and a piano (my favorite) or, a full on band, you never know what your going to see but, it'll always be amazing. After 18 years she still looks stunning, is full of energy and raw sexual prowess (the set was almost 2 hours), and sounds like she did when I first heard her all those years ago. She drew a lot of material from Under the Pink (her second release) which was like time travel for me (that was the first tour I saw her on.) The new material from Abnormally Attracted to Sin plays great as well. The Greek is a wonderful outdoor setting with good sound and decent views. The stacked parking for $15 is the only downfall. It's like paying too much for chaos. The staff are great leading you in but, on the way out, expect a half hour plus to navigate your way through a maze. Kudos to Tori fans for understanding flow of traffic, being gracious, and not the cutthroat drivers LA is known for.

  • Tori was great!

    by Kbsn1023 on 7/18/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

As much as I love Tori I thought she was a little subdue for her concerts. The one I saw at the Nokia she had the whole audience jumping and screaming, the whole place was full of energy. Last night was mellow and slow tempo. I enjoyed the change of pace, I am basically there to get caught up in the atmosphere of the music and the energy that she gives off that feeds the audience. I like the visual effects and the fact the it was outside.

  • The Greek always rocks!

    by Torifan78 on 7/18/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to the Greek Theatre several times and it is always amazing! The venue is small enough that no seat is really a bad seat. I also love being out doors! And as normal with Tori she rocked it out!
