TOOTSIE on Tour
"I LAUGHED MY MASCARA OFF." -ABC
Dorothy Michaels is the biggest sensation to hit Broadway in years. She's talented, outspoken, and an inspiration to everyone around her. In fact, she's quite literally too good to be true. Because squeezed into Dorothy's sensible size-12 pumps is actually Michael Dorsey, an out-of-work actor willing to do anything for a job — even if it means playing way against type. Now, as audiences fall for Dorothy and Michael starts to fall for the woman of his dreams, he's learning that the hardest part of show business isn't getting to the top... it's keeping up the act.
Starring Tony® nominee Santino Fontana, TOOTSIE is "the must-see musical comedy of the season!" (ABC). Don't miss this "outrageously funny" (Time Out) new production featuring a score by Tony winner David Yazbek (The Band's Visit, The Full Monty), a book by Robert Horn, choreography by Tony nominee Denis Jones, and direction by eight-time Tony nominee and Olivier Award winner Scott Ellis.
enjoyed the play, actors and actresses were amazing
This show is hilarious with fantastic performances from the entire cast. The male lead and a major female supporting role were played by understudies the night we were there and they were outstanding. We want to go back to hopefully see the other performers. Anyone complaining that this show is in any way anti- LGBTQ+ or misogynistic has clearly NOT seen it. We have seen many shows directed by Scott Ellis and believe he is the best out there when it comes to comedy. We highly recommend Tootsie for all ages.
Very funny show- laughed throughout the entire musical. We bought tickets on a last minute whim and were glad we did.
Absolutely wonderful play. I had seen the movie, years ago, and felt that the play wouldn't give it justice, however, it did plus some....The actors were great. Sat in the 1st row mezz and had a perfect view of the entire stage. The scenery was excellent and changed accordingly. I would even go to see this play a second time, if I had the opportunity to do so.
This was a great stage play with great acting and even greater and talented singing voices.
Amazing one-liners. The supporting characters were beyond amazing. The costumes and sets were over the top. It was a huge improvement over the actual original movie. Love how it was updated !
Amazing performances all around. Great story line - keeping the spirit of the movie. Laughed out loud several times. Definitely worth seeing.
Tootsie was very funny and enjoyable. The songs were catchy and the dialog was hilarious. Highly recommend!
Three Generations Saw The Show Last Week. All 5 of us loved it. My granddaughters (18) have been listening to the music and dancing to it every day since they’ve seen it. Santino Fontana is terrific as Michael/Dorothy. The other cast members are wonderful, too. See The Show!
Great performances. Very funny. Well written. Good music and choreography
Brilliant show, amazing performances and the best musical we saw in New York. This was beyond our expectations and equally as good a storyline as the film that created Tootsie. The musical plot rather than hospital soap worked a treat and this is a must see if you get the chance.
This was one of the best musicals I have ever seen- clever, hysterically funny, fabulous great dancing and variety of wonderful songs and music. Everyone in the show is a star. The next time I'm in New York I'm going to see it again!
Great show and so funny! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Music was great too! Wonderful day on broadway!!
5 friends went to see this to celebrate a major birthday this year. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. We haven't laughed that much in a long time. We were especially impressed with the quick changes and costumes.
I loved this show. The acting, the characters, and especially the humor. It was very funny. I saw the movie so long ago I forgot how funny it was.
We really enjoyed Tootsie! The cast, songs and sets were all amazing. Love the Marquis Theater too!
It has been long enough time passing for us to forget the whole plot of the movie "Tootsie", so the only assumption we went into the production was that Michael Dorsey was an actor pretending to be a woman. Both my husband and I loved this production. The music was wonderful. Santino was great and so believable playing both roles. What great costume changes. A must see.
Tootsie was excellent. It was a great story and funny. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and would go see it again. Thanks to a great cast!
We absolutely loved the play and so did the audience. This is an opportunity for a fun, enjoyable night in the theater which does not disappoint!
I laughed as if at a comedy show, was hysterical! Story totally updated and contemporary. Dancing and singing were wonderful. LOVED the show!
