  • TOOTS WAS TIGHT!

by deaneman on 7/22/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

ONCE AGAIN TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS DIDNT FAIL TO THOROUGHLY ENTERTAIN THE AUDIENCE. TOOTS DEMONSTRATED HIS MUSICAL TALENTS WITH GUITAR AND HARMONICA AND FOR A 64 YEAR OLD HE SHOWED AS MUCH ENERGY AS ARTISTS FAR YOUNGER.

  • Toots rocked the rock

by Rudeboi on 7/22/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Toots brought his usual amount of energy to the stage, dancing around and really working the crowd. That was no special feat, as everyone new the words to each song and belted them out with gusto. The dance frenzy, typical of Toots shows, was in full force and the packed crowd seemed to eat up all the antics.

  • Toots & EEK were awesome!

Great show, lots of energy great music, simply loved it!

  • Great Performance

by Chansen on 7/22/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Eek-a-Mouse and Toots and the Maytals put on a great performance last night. Interacting with the crowd, they seem to really be enjoying what they do. Seeing them live is always a treat and this was no exception.

  • A little too old

by Pinned on 7/22/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

I have seen Toots play several times over the past decade. My previous experience was a few years back. Last night's show was nothing compared to what Toots used to deliver, when he earned the moniker "The James Brown of Reggae". His voice was pretty good at the start, but faded fast. This forced him to play versions of his most memorable songs that were anything but. While it was good to see Mr. Frederick Hibbert on stage one more time, I yearn for the Tootd of old. Alas.

  • Toots and the Maytals was energetic

by cartyekrut on 7/22/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Toots was electric lastnight. He had the whole crowd bopping, dancing and involved in the music. This was one of best lives perfomances I've seen in a long time. I can't wait to see him again.

  • Skankin? Ya Mon!

by mikey25 on 7/22/09Pier Six Concert Pavilion - BaltimoreRating: 4 out of 5

I had a great time at this show. Loved the atmosphere and the artists. Very laid back, casual venue. Great lineup of local and international artists. Learned about "skankin"! Perfect weather for the day. Vendor selection was weak and food/beverage support was marginal, but considering the semingly light turnout, I can understand why. Was thrilled to see the English Beat and Reel Big Fish for the 1st time.

  • Toots & The Maytals at The Surf Club

by Seamus on 7/21/09Surf Club - Ortley BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. Seeing one of my favorite bands live in a small venue like the Surf Club was great. Toots' voice is still as strong and soulful as ever. I haven't been to the Surf Club in 12 years. I like the changes they made. I brought a friend who was on crutches. The staff was great. She got in touch with the club and explained her situation and we got to sit on a nice couch in the V.I.P. section. I think the main guy was Joe Boz ( spelling ? ) and a bouncer named Eric were really helpful. Many thanks, they ( Surf Club Staff ) were a class act. I'll keep an eye out for shows there and would go back.

  • dissapointing

by Shug701 on 7/20/09Pier Six Concert Pavilion - BaltimoreRating: 2 out of 5

I didnt know many of the bands that performed, with the exception of Jah Works and the English Beat, but I think it was a real stretch to call this music Reggae... The music was fine for what it was, but I felt mislead by the title: Reggae on the Harbor... Sure there were reggae rhythms, but it felt like a hodge podge of wanna be reggae artists. Dissapointed

  • Toots was incredible!!!

by MimiKiedis on 7/20/09Surf Club - Ortley BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this show was fantastic. The venue. The music. The drink prices. Toots was better than I imagined.

  • Toots is rediculous

by PoonanersMcGee on 7/12/09Water Street Music Hall - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

That was an amazing show. It was my second show at the water st music hall, I saw Buddy Guy there last year which was amazing too. Toots tore the house down. If you have the chance to see him and his amazing band, the Maytals you should.

  • Toots Best Yet

by Yogi48 on 7/8/09Water Street Music Hall - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

I went to the show at Water Street to see Toots and the Maytals for the 4th time. I thought he was amazing, probably the best I have seen him yet. The band seemed really tight...the energy was full and the crowd was groovin...I will see him with out a doubt the next time he passes through again.

  • Toots at the Zoo

by KatieKate on 7/6/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing is all I can say. At age 65, Toots still has his dance moves and voice.

  • Toots Always Thrills!

by kris5446 on 7/6/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 5 out of 5

What can I say... Toots and the Maytals are the only group I will see live in concert! So much fun! He's the best!

  • Toots and the Maytals at the zoo!

by Shellhead on 7/5/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 4 out of 5

The show was fantastic! I've never been to a concert at the zoo before and it was such a fun experience - my husband and I will make a point to make it to at least one show every year now. The sound was great, the size of the crowd was perfect, and I don't think there was a bad seat in the house.

  • Great evening with Toots

by MJK1 on 7/5/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the music and the venue. Would definitely go again!

  • Toots was Amazing

by Goutes92 on 7/5/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, Toots and the Maytals did not disappoint! Their vibrant, energy filled and crowd pleasing set had the entire crowd singing and dancing all night long. Hope they return to Minnesota soon.

  • Reggae at its best !

by iriecath on 7/5/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show by a true classic Reggae artist !! Toots always gets the audience moving !! The Minnesota Zoo Venue is a great spot to see a show since it is small & all seats are close enough to see the performers. Start up band (Wain Mcfarlane & Ipso Facto) were also great to see again.

  • Toots is the MAN...

by BigReno on 7/5/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 5 out of 5

As solid a reggae gets...this man and his band have great energy, and the show went by way too fast for 2 hours of amazing music. Wont miss them again when they come to town.

  • Fantastic Roots Reggae

by RastaTom on 7/4/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert I was at in a long time. Toots was super. He played a lot of his old favorites, and he got the audience excited from the start. He keep the crowd involved for the entire show. It was a great experience. For reaching people at the roots level, reggae is the best. To paraphrase Bob Marley, Reggae is earth music, it's in touch with the rhythm of the earth.
