The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is an annual college football game held in El Paso, Texas. Established in 1935, the first Sun Bowl was played between two Texas high school teams, but moved to a collegiate-level matchup the following year. The Sun Bowl is tied for the second-oldest active college football bowl game and has historically been played on or around New Year’s Eve. Hosted on the University of Texas at El Paso campus since 1938, the Sun Bowl switched to its current home at Sun Bowl Stadium when construction was completed in 1963. The Sun Bowl was initially home to the former Border Conference, but as of 2011, the two opponents are selected from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Pac-12 Conference. In 2025, the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game will kick off on December 31 at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.

    Such a beautiful setting for a bowl game, the Sun Bowl sits among rocky hills on the unique University of Texas at El Paso campus. The stadium is appropriately named as the weather was a balmy seventy degree clear skied day. The game was exciting too as the outcome wasn't decided until the last play when Washington went for 2 points to win after the touchdown. I call it a virtual tie. Halftime show was a colorful display of Mexican folk dances accompanied by traditional, lively mariachi bands typical of the culture of the border area. A great afternoon.

    The Game was Exciting and great tailgating with friends and family, just disappointed with ticket master probably will not get tickets from them or the organizer i bought 20 tickets for customer's like i do every year, I could not print them to give out and to transfer them my customer's needed ticket master account well to sum it all up could not do that so I was stuck with 12 tickets so I was out with taxes about $ 300.00

    A very fun game. Lots of free parking close to stadium and very easy getting out after game. Food prices at game weren't too bad and no bad seats in the place. Wait until week before game to get tickets for cheap. $29.

    Great game, atmosphere, and weather. Great time. Downside: the bleacher seats in the endzone need to be numbered properly. The numbers are blemished and some even erased. This makes people not finding their seats, sitting on other's seats causing problems for people coming in to find their place.

    The weather couldn't be any better for a winter day. El Paso, TX is the sun city. The only complain I have is every event I go here in choco town . They always run out Bud light beer 🍻. Yours Turly 🦋

    Never miss the opportunity to see Notre Dame when they come to the sun bowl this is my second time seeing them and they haven't disappointed.
