About

Toby McKeehan, better known as tobyMac, has spent most of his life as a successful Christian recording artist. The Virginia native first formed the vocal trio DC Talk in 1987, creating five major studio efforts and an EP, all of which merged gospel and rap with tinges of alt-rock. One sign of their reach: four of the six releases earned Grammy Awards in the Best Rock Gospel Album category.

In 2000, after several rounds of European and North American concerts, DC Talk called it quits, leaving tobyMac to focus on his solo career. In 2001, the performer unleashed “Momentum,” followed by nine other records. Now one of the most well-known performers in the Christian rap genre, tobyMac received his own Grammy nod for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album with his fifth studio set, “Eye on It,” which surfaced in August 2012.

TobyMac, who continues headlining the occasional tour, has hit the road in years past with other popular ticket-selling Christian outfits like Audio Adrenaline, Skillet and Jamie Grace.

Toby is truly a servant of God!

    by chaufferof5tobyfans on 4/5/10Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Honestly I tolerated Skillet, but only because it was so loud I couldn't understand anything....but then I am the ripe old age of 43. However, Toby Mac was amazing. I love his songs and sing them everyday with my 14 year old daughter while we are putting on our makeup and getting dressed. Sometimes during the day I go pump up the music to have some worship time while I am cleaning house, but seeing him in person was unbelievable. I was very impressed with how he brought the salvation message into the concert without "shoving it down our throats" which would have turned off a lot of teenagers. My daughter goes to a Christian school and we go to a church that is strict about music with the message "if it doesn't have the blood it isn't Christian." My daughter and I (and her friends) were very excited about the fact that the blood was brought in to the message. Thank you Toby Mac for standing up for what is right and being a good influence on young (and old) alike! Please come back to Mississippi soon :)

    Skillet and Tobymac was outergalactic!!!!!

by momwholovesskillet on 4/4/10Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Skillet and Tobymac was the greatest rock concert I've ever been to!!! My whole family went! My kids loved it, I loved it, and my husband loved it! You will not be disappointed, if you go! There were so many awesome songs, I can never really tell you how much fun we really had! My kids, even on the day after the concert can not stop going on and on about how great it was. The last Skillet concert we went to my kids went on and on about it for months, recalling each song, and each band member. They still mention it from time to time. And one last note,on this concert both Skillet and Tobymac were the coolest!!!! (Skillet with their fireworks and flames and confetti shooting everywhere had my family screaming along with everyone else!!!!) Thanks to Skillet and Tobymac for the coolest concert ever!!!!!

Skillet gets even better everytime I see them

by Anonymous on 4/4/10Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

I love seeing concerts in the Jackson. No matter whereyou sit, it is a great seat. I had said after seeing Tobymac two years ago that the perfect show would be Tobymac and Skillet and they certainly did not disappoint. Skillet puts on as good of a show as I have ever seen and it gets better everytime. Tobymac's show is the most high entergy show ever. Anyone who is not just amazed by these two acts must not like music. I would go again "Tonight" to see them. Can't wait till next time.

    Awesome Show

    by vb6rox on 4/4/10Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Second time to see Skillet, but first time in a large coliseum. As John Cooper says, they rocked our faces off. First time to see Toby. The man knows how to get the crowd involved. I saw more people up and bouncing then any concert I've ever been to. If are thinking about going to a future show, buy the tickets now. You will not regret it.

    W O W ! ! !

    by staceyforgiven777 on 4/4/10Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Oh my goodness!!!! What an awsome event. House of Heroes started off with an awsome show. Skillet ROCKED THE HOUSE with a thunderous light and pyrotechnic show including two hidraulic platforms that the performers "rode" on. Toby Mac brought the house down with thumpin', bumpin',rhythym including a platform at the back of the colisium floor wich he walked through the crowd to get to. Toby bravely jumped into the V.I.P. section at the front of the stage where the fans caught him and passed him back to the stage! What an experience!!! I was thouroughly entertained!

THis was our first time hearing Skillet and we're not used to the "heavy metal" style, but they were very good musicians and the show was fabulous! Everything was great!

    EPIC!!!!

by Anonymous on 4/3/10Germain Arena - Estero

House of Heroes was a great opener to an awesome show. Skillet was amazing, they rocked the house, the coordinated pyrotechnics was amazing. TobyMac was the greatest, he got everyone dancing and moving to the beats effortlessly. Everyone in the arena was singing along to every song from all three acts. This was my first concert and they truly made it unforgettable. I would most definitely recommend this show to anyone and everyone. The Lord's presence was felt by all whether christian or not.
