One of the best performances at the Tennessee Theatre that I have seen!
Outstanding play! Was not excepting the humor which added to the show. Exceeded my expectations!
The play was excellent but the view from our seats was hard to see. They should’ve brought the props forward more on the stage so those on the outskirts in the audience could see.
The only issue I have is with the narrative of the play, which is decidedly different from the book.
To kill a Mockingbird was a wonderful show. Richard Thomas and the complete cast was great. I would see it all again and certainly recommend it to anyone to see.
I really enjoyed this new reimagining of To Kill a Mockingbird. It felt fresh and more modern. It also had a bit of humor, which was great for such a serious subject. The acting was phenomenal, especially the great Richard Thomas. I'd advise everyone to see this wonderful play. Bravo.
Overall, Mockingbird is a great production. Acting quality was terrific & I am happy to have attended. The lack of a 5-star review stems from the poor sound quality. A venue like the Tennessee Theater is perfectly capable of providing sound of a sufficient volume to be heard in the balcony. That was not the case & the inability to hear the actors reduced my enjoyment.
The show was amazing. The cast and crew with all the Actors did an outstanding job. I was completely in awe.
To Kill a Mockingbird was excellent. The actors, and especially Richard Thomas, were fabulous. It was riveting throughout and the moments of comedy very well timed. The whole production was excellent and seamless. I highly recommend it. It did great justice to this classic story.
We were delighted that this play came to Knoxville on their tour so we could attend. Love the book; love the movie; and now love the play. Richard Thomas did a fantastic job as did the entire cast. Yaegel Welch was amazing as Tom Robinson. His testimony in the trial blew me away. We enjoyed the adaptation making it more relatable to today. People need to see this.
Great play! Wonderful set and acting of the cast.
Outstanding performances by everyone. I read the book a long time ago, and never forgot the impact it had on me then. To see Richard Thomas now as Atticus Finch was a sensational experience. I regret that I only purchased tickets for one performance. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful experience.
Well acted, well written, and Richard Thomas was very believable as Atticus Finch. Very impressed with all the actors. I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND this play!
The actors were so very talented. The play did the book and movie justice. Though some scenes are not reflected in the movie, these specific scenes however were instrumental in the play itself. Richard Thomas was excellent as Attic Finch. All performances were of the utmost high quality performances. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
One of the best touring casts for a play that I've ever seen. Every part of this show was superbly done! See this show if you can!
Wow! This production was maybe the best I’ve seen at VBC. Richard Thomas was great. All the characters were wonderfully portrayed and bits of humor timely injected to add a lighter edge to a very dark time and story. I enjoyed this one very much! 5-stars
I loved it aside from the fact that the writer turned the story into a comedy and made Scout look too childish, but overall, I enjoyed it.
The show was wonderful - I felt engaged and entertained throughout the entire performance. Probably my favorite show!
This play was absolutely amazing! One of the best plays I have ever seen!
First, I will say that I thought the actors performed their roles magnificently. Kudos to them. My problems with the production were twofold: ...My need for reality just would not let me accept the adult performers presenting themselves as children, nor the girl in a male role. I expect that is because of difficulties with minors in a travel company--but it is not in keeping with the characters in the book or other performances I have seen. ...The acoustics in the Lower Balcony were absolutely unacceptable. While I do have hearing deficiency for which I wear aids, I was with two companions who have excellent hearing and both of them said that they could not understand the dialogue except in the loudly confrontational scenes. Surely that is a problem that the theater needs to address. I am new to Huntsville, and this is my first visit to the theater as an "Alabamian", and I do think the arrangements and ease of entry are wonderful, and the theater is beautiful. Also REALLY appreciate the inclusion of Broadway shows in the scheduling. Thank you!
