TINA - The Tina Turner Musical on Tour

Experience the exhilarating Broadway musical that takes you on Tina Turner's trailblazing journey. The New York Times raves, "It possesses a seismic power! I've rarely heard an audience with this mighty a roar." And The Guardian cheers, "It's a celebration of triumph over adversity!"

With raw emotion in her voice and fire in her belly, Tina went from the little girl in small-town Tennessee, to the legend that ignited the globe with hits like, "What's Love Got To Do With It," "Proud Mary," "Private Dancer" and "River Deep." She made her own rules--defying the world's notions of race, age and gender. And it took blood, sweat, tears and triumphs to reach the top. A sold-out, smash hit in London, this is Tina's story, her way--brought to the stage by the Tony Award-nominated director, Phyllida Lloyd, and the history-making, Olivier Award-winning playwright of The Mountaintop, Katori Hall.

    Excellent Show

    by Frank on 8/1/23

This ambitious show tries to pack Tina's life into 3 hours and does a very good job. But to be honest, if I weren't already familiar with the story, some parts would've been lost on me. The music is great (of course!). For me, the only negative thing was, ironically, the woman playing Tina. She is a gifted singer and was very high energy, but she just didn't sound like Tina very much. This was easy to ignore given the level of talent on display from the entire cast. If you're a Tina fan, this is a must see.

    A Good Evening

    by Deej on 8/1/23

I loved the young Tina's performance. She is very talented. For the most part, the entire cast were quite talented, especially the elder Tina. She brought Tina Turner back to life for us. I really enjoyed "Tina's"encore performance after the musical ended. The presentation of the story was a little disjointed to me and the Al Green song was out of place. Overall, it was a wonderfully entertaining evening.

Had a great time at the Tina Turner Musical on July 28. The theater was packed with Tina's fans, and the actors all had wonderful energy on stage! The musical numbers and the mini-concert at the end were the best part!! This is a really great show!

    Leaves You Breathless!

    by MBNG17 on 7/31/23

The lead was channeling Tina Turner (I saw Tina in concert at the Greek Theater in the 90s--amazing performer!) Zurin Villeneuva matched her voice, her energy, her spirit and most of her moves. The show often was like watching a concert and going backstage. It was a somewhat different take from the film "What's Love Got to do With It", so it is worth seeing even if you saw the movie. I'd say "sit back and enjoy", but eventually you and the rest of the audience will be on your feet like a concert audience.

    Good from start to finish

    by David-B on 7/31/23

Like the review title, the show was good from start to finish, the singing and choreography was superb; and the young lady who played Tina Turner (Zurin Villanueva), voice was on point. The entire cast was amazing as they moved effortlessly from scene to scene. It was just a great show.

Great show but unruly and rowdy attendees!

    by Chuck R on 7/30/23

This was a very professional and high energy production with terrific music and a phenomenal cast! We highly recommend it. The only seats we could get were in the balcony which provided very distant views and distorted sound. In addition there were several people using their cellphones as cameras regularly and loudly talking over their beers and snacks as if they were in a bar! Ushers weren’t enforcing the rules and I wound up yelling at the offenders to SHUT UP which received agreement from other viewers and temporarily quieted down the offenders. NOT a pleasant experience although the performance was excellent.

Excellent portrayal of the life of an extraordinarily talented woman. Wonderful renditions of her songs. And, just in case you don’t understand domestic violence, you will after seeing this performance. We can’t go on ignoring it.

    Absolutely the BEST!!!!!!

    by Maura MoraSings4U on 7/29/23

This was my first Broadway Musical, I had the best time ever and will now be attending future Broadway Musicals. In the past year I have attended various concerts such as Sting, Kool & the Gang, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Lakeside, SOS Band and the great Earth, Wind & Fire, and the "Tina"Broadway Musical was absolutely AMAZING. Every participant gave a 100% performance. I suggest EVERYONE see this show!

    Disappointed

    by LinSue on 7/29/23

My husband & I were disappointed. The show was just ok. I knew her story & knew half of her life was horrible. We couldn’t make out part of the dialogue, the star’s voice was overpowered by the band. The best part of the entire was when it ended & the cast sang several of Tina’s songs. Wouldn’t recommend it.
