This was one of the BEST events I've attended. Steven Martin was wonderful, but Tina Fey was OUTSTANDING!!! We had a BLAST!!!

    A Great Adult Evening

by Stylefood on 4/22/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I really enjoyed seeing and listening to Tina Fey and Steve Martin. The time flew by and I wanted more. Mr. Martin was well prepared and appeared to be very relaxed. He asked some great questions. Ms. Fey's answers were so thoughtful and honest. She is an amazing woman. The interview was funny and smart. Her intellectual energy is inspirational and practically contagious. The only thing that would've made the evening better, is if Ms. Fey also interviewed Mr. Martin, who is equally brilliant and clever. The venue could've been better prepared for the Q and A session. Maybe the microphones and lights could be pre-set so no time is wasted trying to figure out who is speaking and from where.

Tina fey and my hero Steve Martin

by ejscott on 4/22/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

Great interview, however, extremely too short. Wouldve liked a back and forth interview, not just hearing about Fey, who is great. LOTS and LOTS of technical/sound issues which were incredibly annoying. So much so it was distracting Fey and Martin. Fey even had to hand hold her mic. So dumb to have that be an issue.

    conversation

by mattack on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I have to say I was disappointed with the event. The audio mike system was a constant problem, both Tina and Steve were commenting on it. Tina was a bit tired, poor thing. And having audience members ask questions was a huge mistake.

    What a great pair

by PTgoboom on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

This event would not have been nearly as fun if not for Steve Martin. I am a wholehearted Tina Fey fan, but Steve's wit & playfullness made this a really cool event. Many of the audience members seated near us were kind of jerky. I honestly didn't expect uptight snobs at a Tina Fey/ Steve Martin show. No big deal, though, they didn't ruin it for us.

Tina Fey and Steve Martin were not their best...

by Duffman50010 on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I wasn't exactly sure what this show would be, the description was very vague. But I figured with tina and steve how could it not be hilarious? Well, it wasn't. I'm not even sure if it was supposed to be. It seemed as if neither really know what to do, like it wasn't well thought out. I wouldn't decribe it as a comedy show, but rather something to help writer hopefuls and give advice. But it was priced as a show.....it did not have half the laughs of five minutes of 30 rock. I wouldn't go to it again..

Steve and Tina belly laughs; tech crew not so

by tim6 on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

What a gorgeous venue. Nice wine, a benign pretzel friendly attendants, good seats. With the stage act consisting of two people sitting in chairs - and two hilarious, non-vulgar people - should be a simple technical show. Nope. Poor pregnant Tina had to hold her lav mic the whole show. Where was a stage-hand to make quick fix? As casual as show was with these two funny minds, a sound tech entering stage would have fueled more humor from Steve and Tina. Some video clips would be nice to break up chat. Then the only other tech kooky thing that when questions were asked - and the producer-crew knew that would happen, nobody was prepared with a spotlight on audience member so Steve and Tina could see them. These two instances brought a 100 million dollar theater to high school auditorium. Overall it was a fun and relaxed and funny and genuine show. Thanks

    Interesting evening

by 1Celebrityauthorfan on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I had made a point of reading both of their books before I went - but it would have been interesting anyway. The pre-reading was not really necessary.

    Tina Fey & Steve Martin

by Neptunea6 on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

Overall it was an entertaining exchange between the two of them HOWEVER, the mics and sound were terrible. Tina Fey had to hold her pin-on microphone the whole time and both Fey and Martin could barely hear the questions from the audience, which made it seem unprofessional and in some cases rude to the audience members who were asking the questions! Next time, double check at the sound check and allow someone to make the necessary changes during the show for the benefit of everyone.

    A fun evening of conversation

by PollySK on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

This was an evening of "conversation" with Tina Fey and Steve Martin. I would still recommend such an evening since it was lovely, but I believe it was a bit misrepresented. As a die-hard Steve Martin fan, I was not aware that the evening would be really about Tina Fey (although I enjoy her a lot) - Steve's job was to interview Tina. I was thinking there would be more of a 50/50 - Tina interviewing Steve and Steve interviewing Tina. All in all it was still a lovely evening -- but I wanted more Steve!!

Yay for Fey! Boo for LA Live...

by fredskinz on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

The Tiny Fey conversation with Steve Martin was phenomenal, but LA Live should be embarrassed with the show they put on. The sound was awful. Tina Fey had to hold her mic for the entire show and no one came out to fix it. Steve Martin spent at least a minute or two asking for help with her mic or feedback. Then after the show they announced that Tina would be signing copies of her book. There was no organization for a line, which snaked around the lobby in 10 different directions, then after 20 minutes they said she stopped signing. All in all, I would go to see those two comic icons anywhere, at any time. But never again at LA Live.

    Comedy Genius Lives

by skpstein on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

What's not to like about this show? Tina Fey is perfect, Steve Martin is a genius. Just a great show to hear them talk. At times it was a little one sided, Steve seems to know how to talk, but it was worth it.

    Tina and Steve

by kelsaesser on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

This event was hilarious and wonderful. I wasn't expecting to get a book along with my ticket much less getting to actually meet Tina. The event was well worth it and I would love for it to have gone on much longer than it did. I'd recommend taking the Metro in early to save enough for the eateries around town.

Tina & Steve Hit My Funnybone!

by SirenSage on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I thought the rapport that Tine Fey and Steve Martin was very special and it was obvious that they admire each other tremendously. How nice to have two witty, intelligent people be so accessable and make us all laugh! It was a delightful evening! Loved it! My only challenge was the billing was a little misleading, in that we thought that Steve was going to discuss his book as well. Perhaps the title should have been Steve Martin: a Conversation with Tina Fey.

    Two great comedians

by Shayo on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

It was great to watch these two amazingly funny people banter back and forth. Also, to see steve read from Tina's book and know the comedic timing she was looking to accomplish, it was awesome

    Not funny at all

by LillyGh on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

Tina was very stiff and unlike her usual self. Steve could have done a better job moderating. It was mostly about her life and book, which people can read for themselves. It would have been much more entertaining with some comedy.

    Genius in the Temple

by McCall64 on 4/21/11Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

While it was clear that the bulk of the audience had arrived noting it as an event about Tina Fey "talking to this old guy", I think they were please to discover that "this old guy" was actually quite funny. Who knew? So, I was enthralled by both Tina and Steve who's work I have studied and to my best to rise to as I create my own comedy pieces. The structure of the evening was remarkably simple and it allowed infinite freedom for these two bounce and rebounce to and from where ever they saw fit. And all 3000 of us followed. All except for Tina's mic that had convinced itself it was a tiny handheld. I could do this every night for a week! Then I would need to take a shower or something. Maybe get some lunch. Pay some bills. THEN I would be back the day after that!
