Wasn't sure what to expect from this event, I just know I adore them both and had to be there. Loved the format, these performers know how to entertain an audience without being dull. They handled mic issues like the seasoned pros that they are. The Q & A came as a surprise, but I thought it was handled well. My only complaint comes in after the show. The line up for the book signing was atrocious. After my friend and I found what we thought was the end of the line, we were told it was actually on the other side of this group, that it was stopped by security. The security guard directed us to the real end of the line, only to then ignore 40 other people who cut in ahead of us while "security" said it wasn't her job to control the line, just to keep the exits clear. 10 minutes later, it began to be announced that Tina would only be signing for another 30 minutes. The line thinned, but the employees were very pushy in their encouraging people not to try and wait. Then they announced you couldn't go downstairs unless you had a book. Once we were downstairs, they told us if we already had a copy with our tickets, the book was presigned and to get out of line. After a group complained that they'd stood in line and worked their way to the front, they began to let those of us with signed books "walk by to say hello, but don't stop, just keep going." We couldn't even take a picture of her just signing books. I understand Tina can't be expected to sit and sign for everyone who came, she'd had a long day and is expecting. But that being the case, the signs saying, "no personalized autographs; no posed pictures; only signing 'Bossypants;" should have all been placed upstairs in plain view. Had I known she wouldn't sign any other book, I'd have bought an extra copy for me, as my signed copy is going to be a gift to my sister & I had a different book for her to sign for me. Or I'd have taken my signed copy and went home 40 minutes earlier completely happy. The ladies around her helping pass the books were all very nice and polite, but the man dealing with the line has a lot to learn about politeness - if he'd have nicely said look, if your copies are signed, im sorry, please let others have a chance, I'd have understood. But to demand people who'd stood in line for 30 mins leave without so much as seeing Tina, when our tickets were sold as "Book Signing to Follow?" We paid to meet Tina and see her sign our books, sir. Next time, there should be more information provided about how it will all work, I'd have saved some money and bought the book off of Amazon and stood in line. The crowd control was ridiculous, the staff could have been more proactive rather than wander off when the crowd grew. On the bright side, I got to "meet" Tina and she was very nice and friendly.
