About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

  • Laughed so hard that I couldn’t catch my breath…

I always enjoyed Tim Allen in the movies and on TV but his stand-up routine takes it to another level. His story telling is second to none and his frank, common sense approach towards current events is refreshing…with a hilarious twist!

  • Awesome

He was awesome! Very funny and kept going the whole time. Would have liked a little souvenir, but the memories will last. The venue needs to work on their ethics and procedures, but Tim Allen and his opening act was excellent. Would see him again!!

  • It was ok

by Cmick on 2/21/22ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 3 out of 5

The reason that I have come to love Tim Allen was because of what his career recently has said about him. A conservative family guy that bashes liberals. I assumed that his comedy would be similar. It really wasn’t that. The show was ok but not one that I would seek out to attend again.

  • Awesome show!

by NanaM on 2/21/22ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 5 out of 5

Tim Allen, and his opening act were fabulous! Show started on time, opener was in about 15 minutes, then Tim was on for about 75 minutes. Non-stop laughter.

  • Disappointing

by Bacon on 2/21/22ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 1 out of 5

I have been a Tim Allen fan since I was a kid, and I’ve seen his older stand up specials on Netflix. I was really disappointed in the performance. The opener was 1000x times funnier, where Tim was just kinda cringy.

  • Mask this

by WeedManBad on 2/21/22ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 1 out of 5

Wasnt allowed into the venue because i didnt have the correct face covering. I am so sick of this mask business that i didnt even argue. I left. Enough is ENOUGH!

Have a spectacular and hilarious set. My husband and I appreciated his opener and the entire experience. He is a legend.

by Jeanne Who on 2/8/22The Mirage Theatre - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is my second tim seeing Tim and I'll be back again. He has jot lost any of his wit and his delivery is spot on. Laughing so hard all the way home. If you are a Tim you'll live the shiw even more. To infinity and beyond!

  • Hilarious night out.

by David on 2/8/22The Mirage Theatre - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Tim and his opener buddy filled in a hole within me created by the pandemic isolation. I laughed. I found my love for being in a crowded setting with like minded humans. Thanks Tim. You are needed.

  • Tim Allen is the Best

by Sean on 1/14/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Tim Allen was great in show. I enjoyed the show. The only real downside was the seats were slightly too small. I had the next to me flowing into my seat. And I’m pretty small.

  • Funny but not what I was expecting

by Randy on 1/13/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Tim is a very funny and intelligent guy. I was expecting the humor to be more subtle, I guess. Instead it was very similar to what I would expect from most comedians; some vulgarity and NSW type of jokes. HE is funny and timing is a huge part of it, very talented, but nothing that really sets this show apart from what others do. Only one man's opinion.

  • Tim was awesome!

by B on 1/13/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Baby Boomer telling the TRUTH about how younger Americans have become a bunch of whining BABIES that cry all over the internet. True, True, True and a shame that young Americans don't see they have fallen so low. They think they are "Woke", but are truly in the dark. Tim frames our national situation in a way that you can laugh at for some relief of the seriousness of our country's decline.

  • Excellent!!!

by LeeAnn on 1/12/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Both Tim Allen and warm-up Lowell Sanders were both fantastic!!! Non stop laughing the whole show! Both hilarious! Thanks for NOT making us we’re masks or be vaccinated! Unlike Jimmy Buffet concert where we sold our tickets because we didn’t want to go with all the mandates! Thanks Tim, we know that was all you! Love you and your shows! Keep up the great work!!!

  • A night with the Tool Man

by Jersey Girl on 1/11/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The evening began with an awesome opening comedian. He was very funny and was a great opening act for Tim Allen. My husband and I LAUGHED most of the evening, thanks to Tim Allen. Everyone around us seemed to laugh or clap as much as we did. Tim Allen’s show was fantastic and I will go see him again! Best comedy show I have seen in a very long time!!!!!

  • HORRIBLE

by Kdm on 1/11/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 1 out of 5

We were so excited to see Tim Allen but little did we know what we were in store for! I have never experienced such a HORRIBLE show in all my life! He is NOT who he betrays to be….he is one angry, nasty and frustrated individual. His material is nothing short of a scrambled and convoluted mess. He needs to reconsider taking peoples money and just call it quits! Take my advice a spend your money on a different show!

  • So Disappointing

by Mrs. Hill on 1/11/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 1 out of 5

I bought tickets for my family (I have grown children) as a Christmas gift. My husband is a HUGE fan and still watches hours of Last Man Standing reruns daily. We were super excited and drove two hours to the nearest venue, Jacksonville, FL. The theater was nice — the show was horrible. The opener came out almost 20 minutes late, but he was funny and got the audience warmed up. Then Tim came out. After the first few minutes, I knew it was going to be a disappointment. So distasteful and just not funny. The audience was not into it. People laughed occasionally but there were long periods of time with awkward silence. After 40-45 minutes he said good night and darted off the stage. If you took out all the F-bombs, GD’s, and p-words, he maybe had 15 minutes of mediocre material. It forever changed our perception of him and we do not recommend!

  • Disappointing

by Debs on 1/11/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 1 out of 5

First off, we are fans of Tim Allen’s work. We were excited to see him, however, the excessive cussing was offensive and superfluous. Taking God’s name in vain for absolutely no reason and the f bombs were countless. To what end? His opening act was better. We were very disappointed. Not fans anymore

  • Comedy at its best

by Poorboy on 1/11/22Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Tim Allen and opening act were great. Did not remember openers name and was not listed anywhere at the venue. Venue lacks the personnel to keep the beverage and snack lines moving.
