Tim Allen on Tour
However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.
Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.
A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.
Who is Tim Allen?
A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.
Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.
His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.
It was a great show. The venue was fantastic, and Tim Allen was amazing. Well worth the price.
I love Tim Allen movies and tv shows he’s on. But he’s not a live comedian. Something was very off. His opener was funnier than him.
My Wife and I were totally shocked at the foul language that Tim used and the content of his show was degrading, we got up and left 20 mins in to his show. It was extremely hard to listen to, and it was not funny. Very disappointed we thought Tim was a better man, father and grandfather then that.
Excellent! I think Tim Allen keeps getting better with age!
The show was so FUNNY! Tim Allen gave us a laugh out loud performance. He has so much talent! The venue was beautiful. The people who worked in the garage went out of their way to help us and get us to the venue. It was a FANTASTIC evening.
The warm up comedian was good. Tim totally disappointed us. We left about 15-20 minutes into his show. Very Foul language! Someone said he was drunk. He was not the person that he portrays on television. All in our group left. Someone outside told us a lot of people were leaving due to the language. Makes me believe he is a very unhappy person.
At first I thought I wasn't going to be able to stay through the whole performance because of the F - word that Tim uses every 3 seconds. I had a different view of Tim based on all the movies and sitcoms he has done, but, ironically I was okay with his F-words after I saw that is how Tim gets his message to the audience. And it works for him, so I will see Tim again If he comes back to the Tri-Cities, Washington. Way to go Tim, you made me laugh!
Great show! I'd go again. They should have used the big screens for better view of the performers.
Tim was funny as ever and a genuine joy to hear. It was great hearing about his childhood
My view of Tim Allen definitely changed. He was funny and I enjoyed his stories/jokes. But there was way too much foul language. Think he could have told the same stories without that and been just as funny. A bit of that language is okay, but this was over they top. We will not be going back to see him.
Tim is and has always been one of my favorite, but then again what so many F-Bombs? Show content very funny and I entertaining. Thank you for coming to Washington .
The show was great. Laughed so hard. Made me feel good. We need more shows like this at the Toyota Center
The show was old school standup no fancy screen and lights, just comedians standing in 2 spotlights and a mic… warm up was very funny, Tim Allen was off the hook funny with jokes coming at a high rate of speed. Not for the faint hearted or those who get offended easy. Old school comedy at its best. Just remember it’s just a joke…
I enjoyed the warm-up act (the pickle) more. Didn’t realize Tim was foul-mouthed ex-convict who is mad about everything. Not an appealing character reveal. Definitely funny parts but this ain’t the Santa Clause.
I loved watching one of my favorite comedians perform. He has been a favorite of mine since Home Improvement, the Santa Clause movies, Last man standing and so many great works he has done! I could not stop laughing! Would go again.
It was an odd performance. Tim Allen is a 71 year old man with Nana issues. I dont know how else to describe it. His entire first quarter was being proud of sounding like a 7 year old boy who just learned no-no words and likes making his Nana mad by professing his new found vocabulary every other word. It was kinda wierd. After a lot of that Tim starts talking about how no one can be a man anymore and says so without a sense of irony. Anyway, it was wierd. A lot of the laughter from the audience around me was strained because he told very few jokes during his tirade against Nana. Anyway, not worth the money unless you too have pent up mommy or daddy issues.
He’s great in movies and tv. His stand up is not funny. He’s all over the place and swears often where it doesn't fit
Show was fine, but there was no video screen except for a little intro video. Then when Tim Allen came out they turned it off. It was tough to see if you weren't anywhere near the first few rows.
Totally awesome!! Very funny... nice to hear what comedy used to be without all the "woke"restrictions. Would definitely recommend this to others for a relaxing and entertaining venue. We all need to have a good laugh and "let down our hair"now and again! Thanks so much for an entertaining performer.
Tim was awesome the wife and I laughed the entire night. Great job guys. 👏
