Three Dog Night on Tour

Legendary band, Three Dog Night, now in its fifth decade, claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than Three Dog Night.

Three Dog Night hits weave through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures -- songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala" and "One" serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize Three Dog Night's continuing popularity.

This Grammy-nominated band is not content resting on its legacy alone. Always working to expand its audience, Three Dog Night has embraced and been embraced by 21st century music technology. New and existing fans buy Three Dog Night's music on iTunes as well as at record stores. In fact, releases from this decade alone have sold well over a million copies.

Three Dog Night also pushed boundaries by recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, giving fans new and old a chance to experience its dynamic performances of the hits as well as several new songs. The project, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London and released to coincide with the band's 35th Anniversary, added exciting new orchestral arrangements to Three Dog Night's signature sound.

Three Dog Night maintains an aggressive, year-round touring schedule of over 70 dates a year. The hit filled concerts are performed for generation-spanning audiences by Danny Hutton (founder/lead vocalist) and Michael Allsup (guitar) with Paul Kingery (bass/vocals), Pat Bautz (drums),) David Morgan (vocals) and Howard Lavarea (keyboards). The band's now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a "Three Dog Night".

Boasting chart and sales records that are virtually unmatched in popular music Three Dog Night had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles, 11 Top 10's, 18 straight Top 20's, 7 million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The hits appeared on best-selling charts in all genres (pop, rock and country). Its records Three Dog Night Page 2 continue to sell around the world, reaching beyond the borders of the U.S. into Japan, Canada, Holland, England, Germany, Spain and elsewhere. Tens of millions of Three Dog Night records have been sold through the years.

Created in 1968 by Danny Hutton Three Dog Night recorded the music of the best (and mostly undiscovered) new songwriters of their time including Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams and Hoyt Axton among many others. The group's eclectic taste, combined with their ability to recognize and record hits in a unique, distinctive and appealing style, resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years.

Now, marking 50 years on the road Three Dog Night continues to grow its fan base by keeping up a full schedule of concerts at theaters, performing arts centers, fairs, festivals, corporate events, and casinos. Since 1986, the band has performed over 2,500 shows including two Super Bowls.

Three Dog Night did a great job. And I have to say, I really enjoyed Little River Band too! The transition between bands took a little while, especially since we had a 2+ hour drive back, but it's understandable. Thanks for a fun night of great music!

  • Wonderful memories

by CW on 9/21/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 3 out of 5

It was great hearing the songs we grew up on. The band members interacted with the audience and seemed to enjoy performing. That being said, the older band members have used their voices for so long that some songs sounded scratchy, strained. I think some songs were adjusted bc the members couldn't hit the notes they use to hit. I still enjoyed the concert. Great memories!

  • Still Got It

My wife and I really enjoyed Three Dog Night as headliners with the Little River Band. With Danny Hutton at age 83, being the only one of the original “dogs”, he and his band did a great job of presenting their hits in respectable fashion with the same vocal harmonies the band was known for. While I understand the age of the crowd was up there, I was surprised at the lack of enthusiasm. While the applause was plentiful, i was surprised that people didn’t even stand for Joy to the World. Little River Band also was very good and they did a great job as well. We certainly enjoyed both bands and would recommend this show if they have any more tour dates.

  • Blast from the past!

by Crazy Papa on 9/21/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 5 out of 5

I saw an ad for Little River Band and knew I had to go. The entire concert was amazing. It was awesome to join in with a fellow group of sexagenarians and relive the glory days. It was awesome seeing a few younger people joining in celebrating real music also. Both LRB and 3DN were on point. Left us wishing for more! Next? Marshal Tucker in Evansville, then maybe Ambrosia in Conway! Life is sweet!

  • Little River and Three Dog Night at The Fruityard

by Jude on 9/17/25The Fruit Yard Amphitheater - ModestoRating: 5 out of 5

This is a great venue. Parking is less of a problem than any concert location I have attended. The ADA entrance is quite simple. We sat in the assigned seating area. The show could not have been better. The musicianship was excellent. The added bonus is that the songs took me back to my younger, stronger more lively self. I could not believe the acapella harmonies of both bands. A special thank you to Three Dog Night for singing Out in the Country, which was a sign they cared about the environment even back in the day!

  • Disappointed

Unfortunately it was obvious that they should have retired years ago and stayed retired.

  • I loved 3 dog night

    by sing2mi on 9/11/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 3 out of 5

... after I got over the fact that the lead singers looked like they escaped from a nursing home. I appreciate the fact that their sons were giving them the gift of a last hurrah. It was a lovely gift. They deserve it. Their music is iconic. It spanned many years of stardom and showmanship. However, there comes a time for rest, and they have reached that point. I loved Little River Band, and if they had sung second, I think the lineup would have been much more appropriate and interesting. I know it sounds mean, but...

by DI girl on 9/10/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

Very nice venue , acoustics are fabulous, seating is tight and uncomfortable though, but sufficient, the walk from parking is long if you don’t get there early , I enjoyed it since I had just eaten dinner ,,, after I got there and realized there was food I wished I had waited because the food smell was wonderful, talked to a friend that said food is wonderful, I hope to see many more concerts here , maybe next time with just general admission and a blanket on the ground , beautiful and clean and the moon was full ❤️
