Three Dog Night on Tour

Legendary band, Three Dog Night, now in its fifth decade, claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than Three Dog Night.

Three Dog Night hits weave through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures -- songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala" and "One" serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize Three Dog Night's continuing popularity.

This Grammy-nominated band is not content resting on its legacy alone. Always working to expand its audience, Three Dog Night has embraced and been embraced by 21st century music technology. New and existing fans buy Three Dog Night's music on iTunes as well as at record stores. In fact, releases from this decade alone have sold well over a million copies.

Three Dog Night also pushed boundaries by recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, giving fans new and old a chance to experience its dynamic performances of the hits as well as several new songs. The project, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London and released to coincide with the band's 35th Anniversary, added exciting new orchestral arrangements to Three Dog Night's signature sound.

Three Dog Night maintains an aggressive, year-round touring schedule of over 70 dates a year. The hit filled concerts are performed for generation-spanning audiences by Danny Hutton (founder/lead vocalist) and Michael Allsup (guitar) with Paul Kingery (bass/vocals), Pat Bautz (drums),) David Morgan (vocals) and Howard Lavarea (keyboards). The band's now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a "Three Dog Night".

Boasting chart and sales records that are virtually unmatched in popular music Three Dog Night had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles, 11 Top 10's, 18 straight Top 20's, 7 million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The hits appeared on best-selling charts in all genres (pop, rock and country). Its records Three Dog Night Page 2 continue to sell around the world, reaching beyond the borders of the U.S. into Japan, Canada, Holland, England, Germany, Spain and elsewhere. Tens of millions of Three Dog Night records have been sold through the years.

Created in 1968 by Danny Hutton Three Dog Night recorded the music of the best (and mostly undiscovered) new songwriters of their time including Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams and Hoyt Axton among many others. The group's eclectic taste, combined with their ability to recognize and record hits in a unique, distinctive and appealing style, resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years.

Now, marking 50 years on the road Three Dog Night continues to grow its fan base by keeping up a full schedule of concerts at theaters, performing arts centers, fairs, festivals, corporate events, and casinos. Since 1986, the band has performed over 2,500 shows including two Super Bowls.

  • Three Dog Night & Little River Band

by LincolnZ on 9/10/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show by two bands that have been performing for over 50 years. I saw both bands 50 years ago and they put on just as good a show now as they did when they began. Wonderful time. My only complaint is that the sound people don't understand how to properly mix the music volumn with the vocals volumn. If the instruments are so load that you can't understand the words being sung then the sound people don't uderstand how to balance the two.

  • Classics

by Love live performances on 9/9/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

This was a show of 2 legendary bands, nothing but respect for the performance, they have stood the test of time, not perfect, but truly aged like a fine wine, just like the crowd that truly enjoyed the performance. Classic music that has stood the test of time.

  • Excellent 3 Dog Night Concert

    by Liam’s Grammy on 9/9/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Forget the fact that these guys were way older than the last time I saw them in concert, they still have it! Their instrument playing was super good, and their harmonies beautiful! They spoke to the audience a lot, which always makes us feel special. (Front row center didn’t hurt either!) Loved the whole thing!

  • Great energy!

by AllanT on 9/8/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Traveled 3 hours for the event. Little River Band sounded great. Vocals were solid. They were very entertaining. Enjoyed their show. Three Dog Night had great energy. The sound mix at the beginning was a little heavy on drums and background lows/bass. It got straightened out by about the 3rd song. I was surprised at how well the harmonies were after all these years. Honestly the vocals were stronger than I expected. I am very happy we went. The venue was very nice. I’ll go back to Iroquois Amphitheater!

  • Time to leave well enough alone

by BSturgeon on 9/8/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 3 out of 5

While the selection of oldie favorites was good, the sound system was way too loud (opening act had much better acoustics!) and this was an outdoor venue! Vocals are still there, but to be honest, the energy is absolutely missing - looks like two skeletons trying to stay upright by hanging onto the mic stand. Time to give it up, my ole friends. I will say that your new release “A Prayer for the Children”, done a capella, was very moving.

  • Good Time!

by Mark on 9/8/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Three Dog Night put on a good show. They played a couple of new songs of which one was a show-stopper. They played almost all their hits. It ws a trip down memory lane.

  • Little River Band was the highlight!

by JekyllGordon on 9/8/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Iroquois venue, seats, and weather were fantastic! LRB was a surprise. Great stage energy, wonderful performances (vocal and musical). If I had only been rating them, it was 5-star enjoyment. Three Dog Night was a disappointment. Sound engineering, vocals and instruments all came up short. We made it through half a dozen songs and had to exit. Argh!

  • A Night with Three Dog Night

by Sharon on 9/8/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Three Dog Night was the first band I ever saw in concert when I was 16 years old back in 1970. They were so fabulous then, and they were pretty darn fabulous Friday Night as well! Iroquois Park Ampitheater is a REAL GEM in our community and I love attending concerts there!

  • Fabulous concert

Wonderful show. You get to sing along with 25 of your favorite hits. Still Rockin after all these years. These songs never get old ;)

  • loved little river band

Little River Band was fantastic! Three Dog Night a little less so. Too loud and distorted - just didn't sound good

  • Celebrating great memories

    by MP78KY on 9/8/25Iroquois Amphitheater - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Love the venue, try to attend 1-2 times a year an event at the Ampitheatre. Saw Little River Band a few months ago in Melbourne Florida, and it was great to see them again. Absolutely love Three Dog Night! Clearly the guys are older but sounded great and put on a wonderful show

  • Amazing vocals

by JT on 9/8/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 5 out of 5

A super concert with amazing vocals and all the old songs along with some new ones - no nonsense of filling time with lots of talk - just great music! A walk down memory lane or a new fan - time and money well spent - don't miss it!!

  • Three Dog Night Spectacular

by Elkman on 9/7/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 5 out of 5

OMG!!! Still delivering in their 80’s. What an absolutely fantastic experience and I’m so glad that I got to enjoy their magnificent concert. I’m already looking to travel to another venue to see them once more! Wow!!! Thanks for bringing back so many wonderful memories of innocent memories of bygone decades. Thanks so much Three Dog Night! What an awesome night that I’ll never forget. You guys rocked out!!! I Highly recommend that everyone go to see their concert if at all possible. Legendary!

  • Fantastic concert!!

Peoria, Illinois- Little River Band and Three Dog Night! Wow! Great concert! Loved both bands!

  • Three dog goodnight

by Paul on 9/7/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 2 out of 5

I love their music back in the day. I guess it's kinda hard to let it go when it's your life. The concert was fair at best but still I understand the commitment. They played 2 new songs but you really couldn't understand them because of the acoustics. If I had heard them on the radio they would have been better. Over all, being that I grew up with their music I was pretty disappointed.

  • We left early

by Beav on 9/7/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 2 out of 5

The opening with Little River Band was phenomenal! Three Dog Night, not so much... I attended a concert of theirs 2 or 3 years ago and they were still good. This year the music was very loud, couldn't hear their singing (intentional)?? We left early and I will not attend again. So sad..... I have almost all of their albums!!

  • Concert Venue

by TMS on 9/7/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 5 out of 5

This concert venue is just the right size. I'd definitely attend another event at the Peoria Civic Center.
