About

Three 6 Mafia are a cultural force to be reckoned with -- in addition to being cult rap stars, they taught the world to crunk, immortalized cough syrup on “Sippin’ On Some Syrup,” and won an Oscar for showing us that “It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp.” They also put their hometown of Memphis on the hip-hop map – and now it looks like they may be posed for a comeback. A Three 6 Mafia concert is an intense, nasty good time, with the band’s cult following buying up tickets and packing houses, ready to slug sizzup and bump 'n grind to all the band’s classic hits, as well as newer material, like "Lolli Lolli (Pop That Body)" and "Feel It." It’s a fanbase the band has built up as one of the longest-running acts in hip-hop.

Back in 1995, the Mafia came out of nowhere with "Mystic Stylez," a bloody, psychedelic album with eerie tones, harsh beats and nasty subject matter that's still at the front of their live shows to this day. It got the band dubbed ‘horrorcore rap’ and helped pave the way for the whole Dirty South Explosion. After a string of underground hits, like “Tear da Club Up ’97,” they started gaining popularity. A couple platinum albums later, along with the mainstream hit, “Stay Fly,” the Mafia rocked the world with an explosive performance and a Best Song win at the 2006 Oscars for “It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp” from "Hustle & Flow." Since then, the group has experienced some lineup changes, and Juicy J has gone on to solo success alongside Lex Luger and Wiz Khalifa. With all members but J playing an upcoming tour under the new name Da Mafia 6iX, and J himself saying he’s up for a full-band reunion, it looks like new Three 6 Mafia hits might well be on their way.

Three Six Mafia Hands Down One of the Greatest Groups EVER!!

by Rachael Reed on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

    Everyone

    by A.Allende on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

The meet and greet was unorganized; I paid $237 for a tshirt and meet and greet, and I didn't get either. I was told to be there at 5:15pm, and 30 minutes later no one was there at all. I paid for VIP and people were just walking down from the seats. It wasn't fair I could have paid 70 dollars for a ticket and just walked to VIP like everyone else did. I went for Bone Thugs and Harmony and I wasn't disappointed.

It was really good to see everyone together again

    by K. on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

It would be greatly appreciated if 3 6 Mafia would give back to the community by opening a studio for students from Memphis and surrounding areas that garner an interest in the music business

Overall it was a success- however

by Kim on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

Overall the concert was a success. The only problem I had was the Landers Center sound system. When you pay good money for tickets you should be able to hear clearly what the artist is saying instead you only hear bits and pieces. The Landers Center sound system is horrible. For that reason I will not be attending anymore events there. The 4 stars are for the performers who came out and gave a great performance...

    Part of History

by ShayH on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

I was glad to be a part of history and attend this concert as it had been 19 years since Three 6 Mafia had done a concert in this area. The substitution of Ying Yang Twins for DMX was good but wasn't communicated to ticket holders until arriving at the arena. We listened to radio ads while sitting in the parking lot and they announced DMX on the line-up. One thing I did hate was that the tickets listed a time of 7:00pm. I had just attended a concert just the week prior and the time on the ticket (also purchased through Ticketmaster) was the start time of the concert, not when the doors opened. However, upon arrival at the arena we were greeted with long lines of patrons still standing outside when it was almost 6:30 PM. Once inside the first act didn't take the stage until close to 8:00PM. Ying Yang Twins and Bone Thugs n Harmony performed then there was about a 30 minute wait before Three 6 Mafia took the stage. Their performance was okay but I wish they would have actually rapped their lyrics verses being the hype man for their own pre-recorded tracks. Gansta Boo did good as she actually rapped her lyrics. If others did so it was hard to tell as their mics must have been turned down low because you heard the pre-recorded tracks verses them. The concert did not let out until well after 11:00PM and I noticed a lot of people left the show early.

Everything was nice, no foolishness, everybody having a good time. Just listening to some good music. All we needed was some Eightball & MJG. I would go to it again.

    Three 6 Mafia

    by T. on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

I really enjoyed the concert! I would definitely go again. DMX didn't show but I appreciate the fact that they replaced him with Yong Yang Twins vs not getting anytime at all. Bone thugs and Harmony were pretty good too. Overall a really good show! I grew up listening to Three 6 and they did not disappoint!

    Lets be on time

by Christal on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

For a rap concert it was okay. The show didn't really start until an hour and a half late. It was a lot of DJing in between each performance. Gangster boo really did her thing.

    Disater

    by Shay504 on 10/15/19Landers Center - Southaven

Everything about this event was a disaster. First Dmx was taken off of the line up and we found out at the door that he was being replaced with the ying yang twins who are in no way comparable to dmx. The conncert started a hour late so they were tryin to catch up on time so bone thugs n harmony was cut short and whisked off the stage after about 20 minutes. The sound system was horrible. We had bone thugs n harmony meet n greet vip passes. From the beginning nobody knew anything they didnt know where to send the meet and greet customers when we finally got an answer we was told to meet at the merchandise stand after bone set. Went to the stand and after a lot of confusion we was told the meet and greet was cancelled. We were so frustrated at everything that took place we just left. We drove 6 hours for this show. It was supposed to be a show for the books. Instead it was a tota disater. I'll never go to another event at Landers Center.

    Eh...it was okay.

by CL85 on 4/4/11University of Redlands - Redlands

I didn't get to see Hyper Crush until after the show. The girl in the group is FINE. Chamillionaire was pretty boring. I think it showed after people threw paper and tennis balls at him. Three 6 did a good job. They were funny, and they played some good shit. For a $20 ticket, I'm not going to complain too much. Overall, it was a pretty descent show.

    My First Concert

by floridaboyaka on 2/11/10Ferris State University - Big Rapids, MI

Last spring (i do believe it was in may) three six came to ferris university. I myself am from manistee,mi. I made the drive with a few friends, this was also my first concert of any kind. It wasn't anything big, (admission was free), but this was definatley a great first concert. I would recommend three six to anyone, weather it's your first concert or not. They hold your attention throughout their performance, and they know how to feed on the excitment and anticipation at the very beginning of the show and use it to keep the crowd pumped throughout. I WOULD MOST DEFINATLEY RECOMMEND THREE SIX MAFIA FOR ANY FAN OF RAP/HIP-HOP!!!!
