THIEVERY CORPORATION IN CONCERT:
Lounge and electronica collective Thievery Corporation capture the sleek sounds of the international set with their chilled-out beats, worldly sonic palette, and lush synthscapes. Their mesmerizing and eclectic mix of bossa nova, acid jazz, trip hop, and a host of other genres had crate-diggers drooling with jealousy between sets at their 2013 shows, reminding fans just why they're one of downtempo's most beloved acts. With a highly anticipated new album due out in 2014, Thievery Corporation are set to blow minds once again on their upcoming North American tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Washington, DC's Rob Garza and Eric Hilton formed Thievery Corporation in 1995 as an outlet for their shared love of acid jazz, dub reggae, and Brazilian musical traditions. Using Hilton's Eighteenth Street Lounge as a base of operations, their early mixing sessions were a huge success, resulting in their 1997 debut album Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi. While the album was a minor success, it was their second record, The Mirror Conspiracy, that really put them on the map, led by the sweltering single "Lebanese Blond." Since then, they have continued to pioneer new directions in downtempo, headlining some of the world's biggest festivals and establishing themselves as legends of the genre.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"So talented and entertaining. Definitely worth seeing them live again soon."
"Absolutely rocked the place. Collaboration of old tunes with new and energetic stuff made it so special and enjoyable. The place was jamming! Loved it!"
"This is the third time I've seen Thievery Corporation and I must say they are one of the BEST live acts I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. If you have not seen them live you are doing yourself a horrible disservice."

Absolutely great!
by BunnyChapo on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5I have seen TC about 4 times. They are always great. The show at Terminal 5 was amazing. The only negative comment is that the bass was too loud. We were in front of the stage and we had to move back because of that.
Thievery always puts on amazing show

I thought that they did a FANTASTIC job. Terminal 5 was cool, but the show was the BOMB!
Theivery haloween 09
by limboweigel on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5The sound was AWFUL! You could barely hear vocals. And they only played til midnite. I was less than impressed. Had great potential, but w/ bad sound, the whole thing was a waste of $.
Sick sho

Thievery Corporation Shut it Down!!!
by Jonesy79 on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5I have been a fan of Thievery for years and finally went to see them last night, and it was amazing!! The band, especially the bass player and the guitar/sitar player, was tight. All of the vocalists were amazing and even dressed up for Halloween!! The staff was great, the crowd was great with great costumes too. All in all, it was a great night, I will definitely try to see Thievery every time they come around. Rob and Eric even came around to the front of the stage and addressed the crowd. Thank you Thievery for an awesome night and all of the great music over the years!!
It was a lot better than in London a year ago!
by eeee1 on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Brilliant show! Never been out in NYC before (as I live in London) and Terminal 5 is just a great music venue! Truly amazing sounds. And Thievery Corporation made a special night for all of us partying with them on Halloween nite! Thank you!!!
Thievery Corporation takes the cake!
by Nush on 11/1/09The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5This was the second time I watched them at the electric factory and I would watch them again and again because they have one of the best performances I have ever seen! This concert is life-changing !
Thievery Corporation Concert Was Best Concert Ever
by Niwrad22 on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Thievery Corporation was absolutely amazing in concert. This was hands-down the best concert I have ever been to!
Thievery Corporation is outernational
by Aphro on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5This was my fourth time seeing them perform live, and my second time seeing them at Terminal 5. With each performance, Eric, Rob, Robbie, Sleepy Wonder and the remainer of the crew get better and better. The 'outernational' nature of the performance by the Corporation enhances audience participation and is masterful. The blending of amalgamated worldly sounds appeals to all musical genres. Run get tickets if they are in your area.
Great show once again!
by Herwin on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Once, again Thievery delivers and puts on a great show! I look forward to seeing them again!
Better live than on CD
by 7ommyS on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Many times live shows can end up sounding worse than the artist's CD, i.e. muffled lyrics, jacked up instruments, poor sound engineering, etc. That was not the case with Thievery Corporation. The live show was so much better than their studio CDs due to the nature of their music. The live sitar, bongos, guitars, drums, etc. were incredible. I wish Rob and Eric had interacted more with the audience instead of just standing behind their turntables, but the singers that sang were incredible. The standout performance went to their bass player (I believe the same guy from Dust Galaxy). This guy went strong the entire concert and just blew the place away. Since their music is super bass-heavy, he was the star of every song. The best song of the evening was Warning Shots ("here comes the 2 to the 3, and 1...") which had so much more enegery live than on CD. This was easily one of the most engrossing concerts I've been to and is yet another reminder of why Thievery Corporation is one of the dopest, most creative, yet little known, underrated bands around.
Thievery Corporation - super Halloween fun!
by Anonymous on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Terminal 5 was a fun venue with lots of nooks and crannies, couches, and levels of balconies to watch from. They could do with more bartenders though :( Thievery Corporation was an amazing live show with a variety of featured vocalists and many were even in costume for Halloween! The music sounded incredible live- I had only ever heard them recorded, so it was very exciting. The crowd was very lively and fun! It was a super evening!
I felt the music
by musikdoc on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5I've liked Thievery Corporation for a long time but had never seen them in concert. They were amazing. A solid good entertaining show that I would recommend to others. The place itself where the concert was held was adequate. I have no specific complaints. Great show all around.

It was an awesome show! I loved the venue. The band was on top of their game. Their last show of the tour just happened to be Halloween night in New York and that just added to the great vibe. The guest singers were all amazing. I love Thievery Corp.!!
Brilliant!
by Fahd on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5An absolutely brilliant show. Thievery Corp has come through once again... maybe need to scale back on the reggae & hip-hop part of the show and do more of their original music
Thievery Corporation
by KatiePie on 11/1/09Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The band was terrific, the crowd was stoked in costume, and the venue was great. A fabulous night of music and Halloween entertainment! Woohoo!
Thievery Corporation was a good show
by Anonymous on 10/31/09The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5The crowd was varied. The music and singing were clear and they played a good selection across their albums. They took turns doing the vocals, which made for nice transitions. Lots of dancing going on. I'll go again if they come back through town on their next tour
thievery corporation is awesome
by aep99 on 10/31/09The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5Thievery Corporation is by far the coolest live group ever. I can't wait to see them again!!
