THIEVERY CORPORATION IN CONCERT:
Lounge and electronica collective Thievery Corporation capture the sleek sounds of the international set with their chilled-out beats, worldly sonic palette, and lush synthscapes. Their mesmerizing and eclectic mix of bossa nova, acid jazz, trip hop, and a host of other genres had crate-diggers drooling with jealousy between sets at their 2013 shows, reminding fans just why they're one of downtempo's most beloved acts. With a highly anticipated new album due out in 2014, Thievery Corporation are set to blow minds once again on their upcoming North American tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Washington, DC's Rob Garza and Eric Hilton formed Thievery Corporation in 1995 as an outlet for their shared love of acid jazz, dub reggae, and Brazilian musical traditions. Using Hilton's Eighteenth Street Lounge as a base of operations, their early mixing sessions were a huge success, resulting in their 1997 debut album Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi. While the album was a minor success, it was their second record, The Mirror Conspiracy, that really put them on the map, led by the sweltering single "Lebanese Blond." Since then, they have continued to pioneer new directions in downtempo, headlining some of the world's biggest festivals and establishing themselves as legends of the genre.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"So talented and entertaining. Definitely worth seeing them live again soon."
"Absolutely rocked the place. Collaboration of old tunes with new and energetic stuff made it so special and enjoyable. The place was jamming! Loved it!"
"This is the third time I've seen Thievery Corporation and I must say they are one of the BEST live acts I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. If you have not seen them live you are doing yourself a horrible disservice."

Good show
by Drsomething on 8/6/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5It rained hard before the show and I think a few people left or didn't show up. I think this made it a bit difficult for all the fans to get as excited as I have seen in the past at a Thievery show. The weather turned out awesome and the show was overall good. Thievery struggled at times to get the crowd into it but they did well with the weather and set back. I will always go back for Thievery.

TC rocked the Rocks!
by kalanieldon on 8/6/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5What a fantastic show! There is no act that has such a diversity of musical styles and played to perfection!
thievery corporation brings the funk EVERYTIME
by manwhichman4336 on 8/4/13House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5The band is amazing, the crowd was sub par too many people not dancing. I think the lollapalooza tag made people think it was something different. But amazing show
Groovy
by Zane312 on 8/3/13House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5Just go. Excellent live music!!! You will not be disappointed.
Thievery Corp, MUCH TOO LOUD!
by Beekybird on 11/13/12Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 1 out of 5We are big fans, excited to see them live. What a huge disappointment. They have some serious misconceptions about how much volume the human ear can take. We tore out of the Schnitzer Auditorium after their first piece, Lebanese Blonde. We couldn't take it! My ears rang and I was using good ear plugs. Get a clue, Thieve!
So good, hungry for more
by HollBGood on 8/25/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5This was just as amazing, if not better than last years show. However, both years the energy level is so high and the the show ends! I sat there cheering and cheering for more! Well done very musical!
AMAZING
by Hyjynkx on 8/24/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5Talk about a show. IT WAS SOOOO AMAZING! They were super impressive, sounded better then you could every expect live and it looked as though they were having just as much fun as the crowd.

It was amazing! Anyone who didn't like this show is crazy.
Thievery Corp--Trippiest show ever!!
by TWamerica on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5I was a teenager in the 60"s and saw MANY amazing concerts. What a masterpiece of musicianship, showmanship, and living art. I had not idea who this band even was. My nephew got me to go to Red Rocks for the show. It was the total hippie scene and the band was unbelievable. The different styles: reggae, rap, celestial groove WOW!!
Pure Quality Entertainment
by shanus on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5I went to this show because Beats Antique is easily my favorite live band, out of about 200 shows. We unfortunately missed Beats Antique and arrived in the beginning of Thievery's set. I'm only halfway familiar with Thievery Corporation, but am sold on them after seeing the show. It was a wide variety of ambient, chillout, funk, groovy hip hop, melancholy, and reggae, and it totally works live. I'd love to see them again, especially at Red Rocks.

Thievery corp puts on a great show
by Spifflescratch on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5Music was awesome, the weather was perfect, it was an all around great night!
Beats was great, thievery, not so much
by Cmacpher on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 2 out of 5Beats Antique was awesome, their dancers were incredible, the music was just fantastic. Thievery, however, was pretty poor, which was so disappointing. They're one of my favorite groups, but live, they just blew it. If you're a thievery fan, you know most of their music. How many of their songs does a loud dude get up and reggae/rap? Pretty much none as far as I know. So why did that happen at the show? I didn't pay $60 for some dude to go rap for 2 hours, I paid $60 to listen to thievery - which I pretty much didn't get. Thievery: if you're listening, next time play your music, don't bait and switch me with some rapper. I came to listen to you, not someone else.
Thievery Corporation should be seen live!
by 2wicky on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5Thievery Corporation, along with Beats Antique put on an amazing show at Red Rocks. The combination of the two bands fit together perfectly. We have seen Thievery Corporation live before, but this was the absolute best performance yet!
Afrolicious, Beats Antique and Thievery Corp Wow!
by Clairelady on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5I am still amazed at the depth of sound and amazing energy of the concert. The venue is awe inspiring, the whole crowd was friendly and rocking out together and the bands were terrific! Thank you for a great night!
A Little Disappointed
by glennuk on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 3 out of 5First of all, the tickets said 6PM on them. It wasn't very clear to me as well as others. We were allowed to walk up at 6 to stand in line again to be let into your venue. We stood for another half hour. I hadn't been to Red Rocks in a few years and I do not recall having to do that. If the ticket reads 6pm,is that when people are allowed in or is that when the show starts? Please try to make that clear for everyone on the actual ticket. Second, where was the other Thievery Corporation singer? The other female....island accent...Jamaican....beautiful voice...usually sings with the two reggae dudes with hats. They have 3 great singers. I missed not seeing the third one. Finally....the rudeness of people down near the front....not the people that sat there originally....the impolite people who think they are entitled to move down to the front rows when the headliners come on. Have an idea, morons???? It's not good etiquette to push yourselves into other people's space. I used to see a little bit of that ,but this concert took it to new levels for me. The music was outstanding. The musicians are top notch.....the crowd loved them. The setting,as always, was wonderful. Thievery Corporation is every bit as good live as they are in the studio. Afroliscious was also very good. In fact, I will be looking for their music the next time I'm at my music store. The 2nd band was so-so for me....if you're going to use belly dancers, find ones that actually know how to do it. I'm a tough audience....having traveled and worked in the Middle East and I'm Greek. We know belly dancing. Sorry about the 3 star rating. This rating has more to do with the entire experience than just the performance. We don't respect each other anymore. I don't know how you can control the rude behavior of others. I struggle with that on a daily basis. I teach 8th grade,so I'm used to it from kids. Kids....not young adults.
Okay.....but
by ravemung on 8/13/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 2 out of 5Honestly, I could not be more dissatisfied with the ticketing portion of this event, and that is what "Ticketmaster" is all about, I thought. I mean for a company that exists to sell tickets, I would have thought they could up with a better plan to get people in their seats. We had tickets to pick up at Will call (no choice for our tickets), and when we got there, the line for will call was about 45 minutes. It was chaotic, and slow, and inefficiant. And because it was essentially required, they HAD TO HAVE KNOWN that they would be beseiged by concert goers, and yet, they had three people helping hundreds (probably thousands) getting their tickets.
Red Rocks is the most beautiful theater anywhere
by Jganetsk on 8/12/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5Beats Antique were awesome. Thievery not as much. But still awesome. And Red Rocks is absolutely beautiful.
