About

There Goes the Neighborhood Comedy On Tour

A little comic relief is always a good thing, and there may be nothing better than seeing a full lineup of comedians battling it out for the most laughs. That is the goal of the There Goes the Neighborhood Comedy Jam, which brings together stand-up comics of all shapes and stripes into one side-splitting spectacle.

Not to be confused with the 1992 comedy feature film There Goes the Neighborhood or the 2009 reality TV show of the same name, this live event will garner far more chuckles and guffaws than those two productions combined. The There Goes the Neighborhood Comedy Jam makes for a fun night out and is the perfect way to get to know some of the hottest new names in comedy.

Founded in Sacramento, California, in 2013 by local comedians like Jimmy Earll (who remains a central figure of the event), There Goes the Neighborhood Comedy Jam has evolved over the years.

It’s gone from a small local showcase to a bigger touring event that’s become a regular fixture on the calendars of popular venues, including San Francisco’s Cobb’s Comedy Club, Sacramento’s Punch Line Comedy Club, Tempe’s Improv, and Philadelphia’s Punch Line Philly. Each show features a different cast of comedic characters, including a host and headliner, alongside touring comedians and rising local stand-up comics.

The event prides itself on being a multicultural showcase, featuring funny men and women of all backgrounds embracing their differences and commenting on the country’s ever-expanding diversity. Sometimes they’ve risen to the challenge of offering a full evening of “clean comedy.”

Even so, no topic will be left untouched, including race, relationships, and politics. Yes, prepare to be educated, challenged, and maybe even a little bit offended — all in the name of comedy, of course. If you’re looking for a jam-packed night of much-needed laughter, this is your answer.

The caliber of comedians wasn't as good as we were hoping. The MC/host Gabriel was fabulous!!! He should have been the headliner.
