This was a super fun night! The rapping, singing, dj and Orchestra were a perfect mix.
The act was phenomenal but the venue did a piss poor job of handling the audio. We couldn’t hear the orchestra which really diminished the entire experience. I will never attend another music event at this venue again. This particular act should hold an event at the Peoria Civic Center should they return to central Illinois.
My sister who knows a lot about music said it was good
I thought I was paying for a hip-hop orchestra, to sit a listen to all the beautiful instruments. What I got was bar/lounge karaoke performance. An amateur rapper and singer performing loudly over each and every single song, AND a DJ! They drowned out the sounds of the instruments the entire time. It was really hard to sit and listen to. False advertisement, not what I paid for. I left right after intermission once I determined the second half was going to be more of the same.
Thee Phantom and The Phoenix are great entertainers and put a fun and exciting show.
Thee Phantom & Illharmonic. Originally saw them on a segment of CBS Sunday Morning and shortly after the opportunity to see them here in Illinois presented itself. Orchestra comprised of all Illinois musicians. A great show, great music from Bach to Biggie. A super talented couple and I hope their exposure grows. If you get the chance, check them out - a different musical experience for sure!
This was a beautiful venue and a great show. Fantastic blend of hip/hop and orchestra!
It was our 2nd wedding anniversary and we decided to this show to celebrate. It was amazing and we really enjoyed it. We are so glad that we decided to go for our anniversary. The music and the performance were wonderful. I highly recommend and would definitely go again.
I had high hopes. But it seemed like the selections often didn't resonate in the way the band intended. Good songs but often just didn't quite meet the expectations that I had. It almost felt like the band leader or whoever chose their songlist chose the songs that they preferred and did not necessarily consider the songs that the orchestra would be able to make pop to the crowd. The concept is dope and I think with the right planning it could be much better.
The show was great! Sound quality was ok- could use some improvements, but overall we enjoyed ourselves.
My first time going to this show. Pros: orchestra was beautiful. Cons: I wish the horns would have played more and the songs were more up to date verses their original music which no one in the crowd knew. Wish they had more energy. Felt like watching local talents that opens up for the opening act.
I enjoyed the show in DC. Great way to start off with Go Go! Both vocalists, the musicians and the DJ were all outstanding! Lively entertainment - I would definitely attend again.
The orchestra is the best part of the show. The lady sings well, but the rapping of man and woman really masks the talented musicians. Their rapping had no range and their style was the same on all songs, and you couldn’t understand them per the sound. Sound was also a problem with feedback and sound levels. I think $35 is too expensive for this show.
The show was okay. The acoustics at The Lincoln Theatre were not the best. You could not understand what the singers were saying, which took away from the experience.
This event was just okay. I would have liked to hear more of the orchestra and less of the vocal accompaniment. The vocal accompaniments were average to be honest. The audio system was not working well either. The show ended early. Overall it was a nice effort but not what I expected at all.
The hip hop orchestra performance was an impressive mix of classical and classic hip hop melodies! However, I found the addition of the two hosts who rapped throughout the show, to be less aligned with my personal taste. I would have enjoyed the experience much more if the performance focused solely on the orchestra and DJ.
I loved seeing the musicians playing. It was such a delight to see classically trained musicians playing soulful music. Although, we left early because we did not anticipate the constant rapping over the music. I thought it would be mostly the musicians, which was disappointing and distracting.
There were some audio issues but overall, the show was wonderful!
Bad show never again the could have done better same show from 3 years ago. Horrible, worst ever.
