About

The Wild Kratts Live! on Tour

What's the best way to get kids to learn about things like ecology and the animal kingdom and keep them entertained at the same time? Turn them on to The Wild Kratts. Ever since the show made its debut back in 2011, it's used exciting animal adventure tales and colorful animation to tell stories that clue kids in to valuable lessons about the natural world.

The stars of the show (at least the human ones) are actually its creators. Real-life brothers Chris and Martin Kratt write and direct the show that they brought into being, but they also appear as animated characters, providing their own voices. In each episode, the Kratts rub shoulders (and tentacles and paws and hooves) with another bunch of animals in a different adventure, from sperm whales and giant squids to porcupines and hippos.

In addition to knowing how to capture kids' imaginations, the brothers really understand their subject — Martin holds a degree in zoology, and Chris has worked as a professional ecologist. They also understand how to harness that combination of educational power and creativity that has made The Wild Kratts an international phenomenon and turn it into a thrilling live-action show.

With The Wild Kratts Live, Chris and Martin connect to their fans in a completely different way, as they bring their adventures to life. Not only do the men behind the Emmy-nominated program appear onstage in front of the kids who've grown up loving the Kratts, those kids also get a chance to interact with them when the brothers pose questions to the audience.

No Wild Kratts event would be complete without the animals. In keeping with the show's philosophy, the Kratts elected to leave actual creatures of the wild unhampered, opting instead to have actors play a host of larger-than-life animals onstage. Between the Kratts, the creatures, and the production, fans of the series will have the time of their lives.

    Magical memories

by Stephanie on 11/19/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

This show was the most magical event I've ever been to! My kids had a blast but to be honest I've been waiting to see Chris and Martin since Zaboomafoo so I'm pretty sure my 4 year old and I never even blinked the entire show. We can't wait for them to come back to Minnesota 💜

    Great Show

by Me on 11/19/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

Took my 6 year old who currently watches Wild Kratts and my 15 year old who used to. The 6 year old absolutely loved it. He has been talking about it since we saw it and wants to see them again. He loved how he was able to “help them out” by yelling things. We bought a creature power suit after the show and he has been constantly wearing it ever since the show. The 15 year old even liked it and had a good time (which is saying a lot for a teenager)!

    A great family show

by Michelle on 11/19/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

This was a great family show for all your Wild Kratts fans. We took our 3 and 5 year olds, both of who showed up in their Wild Kratts cheetah suits and were mesmerized by the whole show. I was nervous that it might be too long to keep their attention, but the Wild Kratts brothers did a great job keeping the show entertaining, interactive educational and true to the TV show.

Celebrity’s for kids are the best

    by Mpls-momma on 11/19/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

Brought my Wild Kratts enthusiast son to this performance. The look on his face when seeing Chris and Martin for the first time was the best! Great performance, interactive for kids (they encourage the kids to shout out answers) and a very Wild Kratt’s story line! Merchandise was very easy to buy (scan a QR code, order what you want & they text you when it’s ready to pick up).

    Steven's auditorium

by Joe on 11/18/23Stephens Auditorium - Ames

The venue was cramped, not enough food vender areas and ran out of the food they were offering. Guessing they did not want to make to much and throw away, but was my son's birthday present. Was expecting a much better experience. Will have a hard time attending future shows at Steven's auditorium. At the end he really enjoyed it and was smiling so not a complete flop. The show it's self was great Martin and Chris did a wonderful job bringing wild krats to life.

    Fabulous Show!!!

by Sylshell on 11/18/23Stephens Auditorium - Ames

This was an incredible show! Our 7 year old granddaughter has been waiting years to see the Wild Kratts Live Show-and they did not disappoint. It was the perfect balance of education and entertainment, keeping the attention of little ones and adults alike. The length (about 90 minutes) was great, particularly for a school night when traveling to the venue was necessary. I can’t recommend this experience enough!

My boys (8 and 6) love the show and loved this! They were yelling and bouncing up and down in their seats the whole show. It was very fun for all of us. Interactive and exciting! There is a 20 minute intermission. Highly recommend and glad it came close to our house!

My daughter was already familiar with the TV show and this live performance was a home run! Very entertaining and educational with creative costumes and a fun storyline that was easy for children to follow and participate in. This exceeded my expectations and I'm glad we were able to see the Kratts live.

    What Fun!

by MBK on 10/25/23The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

We saw Wild Kratts Live 2.0 on October 22, 2023 at the Palace Theater in Albany NY. Every kid in the packed theater was a huge fan and the atmosphere was electric. We had a 6 year old with us who felt the same. The show was so much fun and better than we could have expected. It was like watching the TV show Wild Kratts but BETTER. Chris and Martin Kratt really know how to engage children and instill their love of animals with them. The show lasted just under 2 hours with an intermission. Perfect amount of time for this age group. We would see it again if it comes back. The only thing that wasn't good has to do with the theater itself and not the show. At intermission and before the show started, the concession stand was mobbed with no clear line to get into. There should be other concession stands at other locations within the theater, not just in the main lobby. This theater holds 2800 people, and if half of those want a snack, they would never get served. At the same time, the theater policy is no outside food or drinks allowed. Other than the concession issue, Wild Kratts Live was a fantastic show for the whole family.

    Fun, interactive, smiles and laughs

by Erin on 10/25/23The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

We watched the show and had many laughs. Was a great experience for my 8 year old. After the show we had VIP tickets, got to meet both Chris and Martin, they autographed a large postcard, and chatted with my son. Very personable and great experience! We also received VIP lanyards and easy reader Wild Kratt books!

    Disappointing and loud

by Parent of 4, 6 on 9/30/23The Lyric - Baltimore

I attended the Baltimore event at the Lyric Baltimore. The venue had issues, but this review is about the show itself. I sat in Balcony. For context, my kids are familiar with, but don't watch Wild Kratts regularly. For the show, my 6yo loved it, and 4yo was bored immediately and didn't like it at all. A large chunk of the show occurs on a screen - basically, the equivalent of a Wild Kratts episode projected onto a screen that was a little too small to see well sitting up in Balcony. Some characters only appear on screen. The production started at 7pm and was done around 8:30, with a 20 min intermission. The Kratts are on stage and they interact a lot with the kids in a straightforward way, ("what's our favorite color?!""Are you ready for creature power?!"Etc.) But they had casual clothes on, like on the show, wearing their own merchandise. The sets were rudimentary, basic effects, some costumes.... it was like watching an episode of Wild Kratts with some interspersed live action appearance. The plot centered less on animals (though there was a lot of mention of "raptorial arms"of a praying mantis) and more on finding lost creature power disks spilled in the grass. Animals that made an appearance did so on a screen in worse resolution than the animated portions, or else as large costumes on the Mr. Kratts. It was also very very loud. Maybe it was the acoustics of an opera theatre, but the reverberation of kids yelling back to the Kratts was a LOT. Consider bringing ear protection if going. To sum up, I expected a lot better as a long time fan of the Kratts from my own childhood.
