Temptations Revue ft. Nate Evans on Tour
"My Girl." "Papa Was a Rolling Stone." "I Can't Get Next to You." "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." "Just My Imagination." "The Way You Do the Things You Do." "Treat Her Like a Lady." If you're a fan of classic soul music, you know all of them by heart. They're the hit songs of the Temptations, some of the most beloved ever written, performed by musicians who rose out of Detroit to eventually embody the aesthetic of Motown, both the label and the sound.
Over the course of their 50-plus-year career, the Temptations released four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles and 14 R&B No. 1 singles. Their music has earned three Grammys, including the first for Motown for 1969's "Cloud Nine," and in 2013 they received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The founding members — Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams and David Ruffin — were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. "My Girl," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" are among the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. This music is more than timeless. It's at the very foundation of pop.
Today, the Temptations Revue carries on the tradition started almost 60 years ago, performing concerts to sold-out crowds across the United States. The Temptations Revue is led by Nate Evans, the singer who was brought into the group decades ago by its founding members. Evans brings a cast of veteran vocalists to re-create the Temptations' definitive five-part harmonies, and they're accompanied by an eight-piece band that provides proper live musical backing. From the dapper suits to the gentlemanly dance moves to note-perfect renditions of all those songs you know by heart, the Temptations Revue is the full Temptations experience, delivered here and now.

The temptations were fantastic and saying many of their songs, but Otis was a little robotic, and their group movements were less than normal. The four tops did not meet the standards, because the lead singer did not have the voice to meet the challenge of doing Levi’s songs. They also did not sing all of their songs but a short review of a few songs at the end. They sang other people songs. So, overall, I love the temptations, but was disappointed with the Four Tops.
Great concert at a great venue with some really good music. We had a really good time. The only complaint I have is that the notice about purse size allowed in the venue came a little bit late - we only received the notice the morning of the show, and already had our outfits and accessories (ie purses) all picked out. Small inconvenience, but earlier notice would have been helpful.
We had such a good time. The Temps & 4 Tops were a big part of our lives. Otis was terrific!! Crowd was into it.
Smokey appearing was an absolute Motown bonus. Much love!
We love Motown! This was the best concert we've attended this year. This music transcends not only time, but age, race, gender - even politics! Literally EVERYONE was up and dancing at one point or another, and these groups still have the moves and the sounds that made them great! Such a wonderful surprise to hear about their new albums - and to see Smokey come and sing with the Temptations! The venue is probably the best in Detroit, and we hope to see these amazing performers again soon!

Was such a great concert with legends and legendary music. Motown Greats! God Bless them all! So love this music.
Who wouldn't want to see The Temptations and Four Tops? Great venue and the Fox staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The groups were back up by a very large instrumental group that detracted rather than added to the show. So loud that they overpowered the actual singing. Great surprise appearance by Smokey Robinson who then sung the lead on the finale, My Girl. Problem was that the music was so loud we really couldn't hear Smokey.
The Temptations concert at the Fox was amazing, but too short. Their Motown music is my favorite and I wanted more. A little less Four Tops , who were good, but more Temptations big hits.
