About

Temptations Revue ft. Nate Evans on Tour

"My Girl." "Papa Was a Rolling Stone." "I Can't Get Next to You." "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." "Just My Imagination." "The Way You Do the Things You Do." "Treat Her Like a Lady." If you're a fan of classic soul music, you know all of them by heart. They're the hit songs of the Temptations, some of the most beloved ever written, performed by musicians who rose out of Detroit to eventually embody the aesthetic of Motown, both the label and the sound.

Over the course of their 50-plus-year career, the Temptations released four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles and 14 R&B No. 1 singles. Their music has earned three Grammys, including the first for Motown for 1969's "Cloud Nine," and in 2013 they received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The founding members — Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams and David Ruffin — were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. "My Girl," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" are among the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. This music is more than timeless. It's at the very foundation of pop.

Today, the Temptations Revue carries on the tradition started almost 60 years ago, performing concerts to sold-out crowds across the United States. The Temptations Revue is led by Nate Evans, the singer who was brought into the group decades ago by its founding members. Evans brings a cast of veteran vocalists to re-create the Temptations' definitive five-part harmonies, and they're accompanied by an eight-piece band that provides proper live musical backing. From the dapper suits to the gentlemanly dance moves to note-perfect renditions of all those songs you know by heart, the Temptations Revue is the full Temptations experience, delivered here and now.

The Temps are not Tempting anymore

by StarTimeJohnny on 8/16/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

Four of us went to see the Temptations on Friday evening at Chastain Park in Atlanta. Expecting a good time we brought food wine and good cheer, we enjoyed the warm up Ashford and Simpson. For the Temptations we had high expectations that fell way sort. The choreography was poor, out of step, the singing was fair and only 2 of the original TEMPS and they made it clear. They hot all of the "old" songs but simply feel short.

Ashford & Simson was very good. There show was just great, I live in GA by way of NYC. I use to see Mr. Simson walking up 2nd ave all the time as I drove on my bus. He is so down to earth on or off stage. Now on to the Temptations, thay are going great!!! I went to a show in the pocono's upstate New York and it was like seeing the first temptations on stage agend. I see thay have a new member with tham now,the big guy he was good, I really love the show.

    tthe temptations were awesome!!!

by angvan on 8/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

Ashford & Simpson opened the concert and what a delight. Their voices were amazing. What a career they have had songwriting for other artists as well. The Temptations were everything we expected and more. Their personal touches (narrative) added a lot to the show. Their voices were again amazing. I have been to many concerts at Chastain since the 1970's and this was a class act through and through including the audience!

    Temptations AT Chastain

by Duckhead on 8/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

Great show! I have never seen them in person before but have been a fan of the music since I was in college in the sixties. They put on a very interesting, well done show and subtly explained the development of the group through the years. It was a great evening as the audience and performers all seemed to enjoy the gathering with little pockets of the audience dancing to the music, candles all through the crowd and people being nice to each other everywhere. A really good experience.

    Temptations - America's Music

by Byrdmanguitar on 8/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

A wonderful gift from our son and his wife to my wife and me, this was a concert we'll never forget! On a picturre-perfect summer night, we watched, sang along with, and danced to the music that helped to define our generation! Incredibly, Otis Williams has been doing this for 48+ years, and keeps getting better and better. His current cohorts are all "Temp-wothy" collaborators, and the band was amazing! A night we'll never forget!!

    Got better at the end

by Jughead55 on 8/8/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

We were disappointed with the Four Tops, the briefly covered the Four Tops hits and the singing was not up to par without the original members. The new guys are not top notch singers. The Temps did put on a good show. They skimped on some of their best hits also.

Cocert on the lawn - what a perfect summer night

by PartyPam on 8/7/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

The four tops where great but didn't play very long. The Temptations were wonderful but wished they would of cut out a lot of that slow music and kept things hopping with more of their upbeat classics. Sitting on the lawn and people watching was a blast, hated to see it get dark. This was definitly a great event to go to. This was a perfect way to spend a beautiful summer evening; The opening band Run Jane Run was an increadible talented group of kids but did not feel they were a good opening band for a motown group.

This is my second year attending this concert and next year will be my third. I'm definitely making this a summer "must do" event. If you LOVE Motown you'll love this concert!

    Temptations was awesome

by MsTeacher on 8/7/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

The 4 Tops were good, but the Temptations were awesome. The harmony, the dance steps while they were singing....brought back good memories of when I was in high school and we all tried to imitate their steps. They sang all the old favorites and did some nice solos and accapella. I love their orange suits with purple trim and lining and purple patent leathe shoes.

    Nostalga extacy

by jaketh on 8/7/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

This was a way to go back to the 60's when everything was a bit simpler. My wife and I enjoyed the music and a night under the stars listing to what was when we were in high school. brought back wonderful memories. Performances were excellent. only part of the night that was not pleasant was the smokers and the nasty cigarette smoke.

The Temps & 4 Tops. A MUST See for Motown fans.

by tfranzen on 8/7/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

The Temptations were great.. the moves were good, the music was GREAT! I very much enjoyed it. only disapointment was that there was no encore! The 4 Tops were good also, but did a medley of their most popular songs so that was a little disapointing.
