THE STROKES IN CONCERT:

American rockers the Strokes have been wowing audiences with their infectious hooks and post-punk influenced sound ever since breaking out in 2001 with Is This It. At the group's acclaimed live shows frontman Julian Casablancas showcases his distinct vocals on favorites like "Reptilia" and "Last Nite" while his bandmates keep pace with edgy guitar riffs, thumping basslines, and pounding drum patterns. With a decade-spanning collection of popular anthems at the ready, the Strokes always have fans singing along to their energetic sets on their can't-miss tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New York City-based indie act the Strokes formed in 1998 and began playing local shows at popular venues in the area. They earned attention from major label execs after gaining widespread popularity for their intense live shows and with the release of their 2001 EP The Modern Age. They released their debut full-length album Is This It that same year, receiving universal acclaim from critics and fans and landing on Rolling Stone's Top 10 Debuts of All Time list. The five-piece has has continued to rule the charts with four more Top 10 albums over the course of the last decade, earning numerous awards and accolades in the process. They've become one of the most iconic rock acts of the era thanks to their collection of indie jams, and fans can experience their first-rate showmanship on full display every time they tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"When The Strokes came out, everything was just so perfect. Julian Casablancas is literally the best frontman ever. He went into the audience twice! Also, Fab, Nick, Nikolai, and Albert are so talented."

"It was really good. They sound just like they do on the albums, and often times songs sound even better. Even "You're So Right" sounded great. They weren't stiff or boring, they were far from it."

"This show was absolutely amazing! One of the best -- if not the best -- concerts I've ever seen. The Strokes were fantastic! "

  • Great venue

by Ang on 3/14/20WAMU Theater - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

They had 12 bartenders in the stage area and a ton more in the area outside the room with the stage. I never had to wait for a drink. Plenty of space so you didn’t feel crowded. Only venue I felt safe at during this Corona Virus outbreak. Was so clean and spacious!!

  • Long overdue Strokes show

by Seven on 3/12/20WAMU Theater - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Show was amazing. Julian sounded INCREDIBLE. They’ve still got it (I’ve been told). This was my 1st time seeing them, so glad the Seattle show wasn’t cancelled.

  • Epic

by DJSunshine on 3/12/20WAMU Theater - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Been waiting decades to see this show. Band didn’t disappoint, ticketmaster app was easy, venue is not the best.

  • Strokes and Alvvays rocked

    by J. L. on 3/12/20WAMU Theater - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic sound and both bands had great sets. WAMU was clean and comfortable. Great night if music.

  • We missed you STROKES!!

by Ash on 3/12/20WAMU Theater - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Thank you so much for not cancelling this show—for my own selfish reasons. It was a dream come true to see one of my fav bands live after all these years

  • Show lacked but the Venue rocked

by Meh on 3/12/20WAMU Theater - SeattleRating: 3 out of 5

The Show itself was a bit, not great. The lighting was off, the sound balance was spotty. Not sure if the band actually wanted to even be up there. The WaMu Theater Staff were amazing though! Especially in a time when crowds can be scary. a bit disappointed I spend 75$ each on two tickets.

  • Worth the trip out to the hot zone

    by lserver362 on 3/12/20WAMU Theater - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

While the crowd was pretty disrespectful to each other, The Strokes put on an amazing show. Before the Strokes came on people had to get escorted out for being disruptive and hurtful towards others. I've been a fan for the last ten years and this was my first time seeing them. I traveled from Vermont for this show and it was completely worth it. I was really struck by the Bernie chants that broke out more than once! (Vote!) The setlist had a bunch of songs I would not have expected to hear, like Evening Sun and Heart in a Cage.

  • Awesome but short

by Livia on 3/9/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was amazing but I was a little frustrated how it took more than two hours to beggin and to have lasted less than one hour

  • Sound quality so bad...

by Luc on 3/9/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

I’m a big fan of the Strokes, and have wanted to see them for years. I was sitting in the back of the stadium, and the sound quality was so terrible that it was impossible to hear the lyrics, or even enjoy the songs overall. We had to stuff our ears with paper to block the brutal sounds coming out of the speakers. I feel Rogers arena destroyed my experience.

  • Powerful and Inspiring

by Erinjc on 3/8/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The Strokes delivered and then some, a powerful experience. Non-stop energy. The crowd loved it. So inspiring, especially in the context of virus-frenzy. Reaffirmed the value of being together despite everything and sharing music. Thanks to the Strokes for giving us an unforgettable experience.

  • Under the cover of Darkness

    by Jon G on 3/8/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Top 5 Songs: You only live once Take or leave it Hard to explain Reptilia Juicebox

  • Sound Problems

    by Jammer64 on 3/8/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

I’m a big Strokes fan and loved that they did many hits. But it was too loud so the vocals got buried and the music sounded like spaghetti. Dark, poor light show with no large screen also disappointed as you couldn’t see the band.

  • Bad volume

    by A. on 3/8/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The opener was too loud by about ten times, I was wearing musicians earplugs and it still hurt, the bass vibrated through my entire body. When the strokes came on their mic cut in and out.

  • Sound was not great

    by K. on 3/8/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I’ve been to a lot of shows at Rogers and the sound quality at this was was bad. Also, the bar closed as soon as the band went on... kinda strange.

  • Kinda hard to rate the band because production wasn’t great

    by Dave O on 3/8/20Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Music would have been better served if volume had of been slightly lower. I don’t mind loud music, but past a certain point vocals get lost & music distorts. Lighting was fairly no frills, which isn’t necessarily bad, but often couldn’t see where musicians were on the stage.

  • Let Down

by Jacqueline on 2/1/20Barclays Center - BrooklynRating: 1 out of 5

The Strokes made a mockery of this concert. They were under enthused with being there and couldn’t hide it. They didn’t have their set list memorized and had to constantly stop the concert to talk. It was an extremely disappointing show.

  • Amazeballs!!

    by Cool_whip91 on 1/27/20The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Loved them! They’re always amazing. ❤️❤️❤️ Can’t wait for the next show and their next album.

  • Waste of time and money

by Greg on 1/21/20Barclays Center - BrooklynRating: 1 out of 5

Band Showed up late Lead singer was obviously impaired Band played well; singer = messed up! Lots of starting and stopping Audio quality was terrible in the arena Band played maybe an hour of music Waste of money...

  • Great but sound sucked!

    by J on 1/8/20Barclays Center - BrooklynRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great. Loved Hinds, and Mac Demarco, and The Strokes! I was in GA right in front of the sound board. Wasn’t sure who the other guy was. What sucked was that The Strokes came on 30 minutes late, and the sound engineer sucks. There were many people telling him to fix the sound cause you could barely hear Julian, from The Strokes’ vocals and you could barely hear the drums. He just brushed it off and didn’t fix the sound at all, which is so unprofessional. The lighting was ok there were a lot of strobes (which I get, it is a show) but almost everything was all strobes so you could barely see them at all, especially if you are GA. It was a fun New Year’s Eve concert though. Just wish the sound didn’t suck.

  • Favorite band, worst concert I have ever been to

by ChrisW on 1/6/20Barclays Center - BrooklynRating: 1 out of 5

Sounds was brutal, echoing and you couldn't hear a word Julian said. Was so disappointed, was visiting from Chicago and brought my friends from NY and we left early. Felt so cheated.
