  • Steepwater/ Steep Talent!

by Alvin on 10/11/24Jimmy's Jazz and Blues Club - PortsmouthRating: 5 out of 5

The Steepwater bands first appearance at Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club was a total success! While the crowd was not a sellout those in attendance were treated to an amazing performance by these four musicians. They completely won over the audience with their amazing talent and great original songs along with a couple of Rolling Stones covers! I was wearing my Steepwater t’shirt and had people come up to me asking about them. The crowd was fully behind them the entire show. Jeff Massey, guitar, vocals, Eric Saylors guitar, vocals, Joe Bishop, Bass, vocals, Joe Winters, drums, are extremely talented! End of the concert they were given a standing ovation and weren’t allowed to leave the stage until they did a couple of encore’s! I assume with this response they will be back at Jimmy’s.

  • Steepwater/ Steep Talent

by Alvin on 10/6/24Jimmy's Jazz and Blues Club - PortsmouthRating: 5 out of 5

While The Steepwater Band may not have played much in New England over the years, those who know, KNOW! While the show was not a sellout, by the second song people who came just on a night out were clapping wildly! I had on my Steepwater t’shirt and I had people stop me all night asking about them. Jeff Massey, guitar, lead vocals, Eric Saylor guitar, vocals, Joe Bishop, bass and Joe Winters, drums. They did several songs from their last couple of albums as well as a couple of amazing versions of “Love in Vain” and “Midnight Rambler” the audience standing O! Jeff and Eric are two of the most talented guitarists I’ve ever seen! Their interplay is other worldly, absolutely amazing to watch. Joe and Joe drive this group with great touch! Their songs are great “Return of the Wheel” is exceptional! At nights end they received a standing ovation and an encore! Hopefully they will return to Jimmy’s soon!

I've seen these guys dozens of times and they always put on an awesome show. So much talent on one stage. The show at the HOB was another great show and the crowd was responsive. I'm looking forward to the next time I get to see them.

  • The Steepwater Band were FABULOUS!

by BluesManRoy on 1/2/13House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Let me tell you something about last night's Steepwater Band show. I have seen these guys perform quite a few times now and each and every time I say it was the best I have ever seen them play. Well, last night was beyond anything I could describe as a jam packed House of Blues back porch enjoyed what may have been one of the greatest New Years Eve shows that ever has been seen by anyone! Jeff Massey, Eric Saylors, Tod Michael Bowers and Joe Winters Rocked the Living Blues to the Extreme! Thanks so much Guys for this night and for being four great people! :)

Yes it was my first time seeing The Steepwater Band and I was very impressed, I had friends tell me about them and went to Chicago House of Blues to see them, come find out they played my type of music I listen to they were good. I have seen them when they came to Chattanooga and was still impressed.
