The ballet was well choreographed and beautifully done. Clearly a troupe of seasoned, professional dancers. Lots of pageantry. I was happy to support them, but a few things were missing. There was no program, nothing printed or digital, to advise the audience who the prime ballet performers were. Many accolade were clearly expected and bewilderingly given to dancers for whom the audience didn't know names nor accomplishments. The music was recorded. Tchaikovsky's music is a symphony experience all on its own, so this could have been disclosed upon purchase of tickets There was no Ukrainian national pride expressed, which isn't required, but was expected by an audience that was specifically primed by the Bardavon director's enthusiastic introduction.

I’ve been to several ballets all over the world seeing different companies from all over! Bavaria, Russia, plus many more. And I’ve seen the Alabama Ballet several times and it consistently puts on shows equivalent or better than some companies around the world! We have a great gem right here in Birmingham! Great job!!

Superb dancing. Beautiful costumes. Wonderful sets. Excellent music performed by the Alabama Symphony. This is the type of performance that makes ballet a magical event. May everyone reading this review have a chance to experience this fantastic a ballet at some point in your life.

It was truly a wonderful show the dancers were so graceful and beautiful.

Sleeping Beauty is a bit of a dry plot, when compared to the more action-packed Nutcracker or equivalent ballets. Lending to the confusion, no program booklets were handed out for the performance, so it made it tricky to guess the number of acts/intermissions, let alone follow some of the characters in the last act (if you weren't familiar with the ballet) or even the names of the dancers. The scenery was nice, costumes very sparkly and appealing, and dancers were very good. The theater was absolutely beautiful and historic. There's a whole separate club area with a bar and food, but I was confused as to how anyone could stand in the concessions line and eat in the short intermission time. The bathrooms are downstairs - I don't know if I noticed handicap access. We managed to find a nearby $12 parking lot, but, for the price of the tickets and the exorbitant handling fees, I wish parking had been included.

Both my wife and I were able to travel to LA to see the Sleeping Beauty performance at the Orpheum Theatre. The theater has a strong vintage feel to it that added to the performance. We will be coming back again next year if the show continues, as well as see other performances at this theater.

We paid $170 dollars for our ticket. We were on 3rd row from the stage. Very amateur! Is this ballet from Russia? It does not seem. Movements were not together. This looked like end of the year presentation of some amateur schools. By the way, no orchestra! And theater is very small.

Wonderful performance and awesome talent. This cast is well worth seeing and an experience you will remember.

Ballet Idaho did a remarkable job with 'Sleeping Beauty'. The costumes and set were so elaborate and added another dimension to this timeless story. The dancers were excellent!! This ballet was delightful, I only wish we could see more of these fairy tale ballets.

This production exceeded my expectations! The sets were amazing, the dancers were exceptional. I really appreciated learning about the pantomime that would be included in the ballet. I was able to watch and catch the bits throughout the entire production.
