  • Better than expected

by Music lover on 12/13/23Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

The songs that they selected were excellent (not always the better known ones) from each of the artists. The lead singer has a magnificent voice and the other members of the group did a very good job. The only problem is that there is too much good music from the 60's and not enough time to play it all!

  • Awesome show

by Cookie on 12/13/23Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

The show and musician's performance was awesome and fun. The only downfall I would state was the venue. The seats were so close together. You really got to know your neighbors well.

  • Best music

Although I was only in grammar school in the 60’s, I love the music. Did not know what to expect but this group rocked!! Quite a variety of artists and they added their own whimsy to the show. Wanted to get up and dance😊 Love this venue and will be back. Hopefully so will the Sixties Group!

The music and clips brought back so many fond memories.

  • Too political: No songs from early sixties

by Nikon Guy on 12/12/23Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 3 out of 5

The first half of the show was focused almost entirely of protest songs about the Viet Nam war. The background videos were overwhelmingly showing protesters being clubbed by police and National Guardsmen. There was nothing showing the people who supported our militarily. For example, they could have sung Okie from Muskogee by Merle Haggard, or The Ballard of the Green Berets by Sgt. Barry Sadler. 95% of the songs were from 1965 onwards. There were no Beach Boys nor Elvis songs from that era. Also, there was no mention at all about the biggest story of the sixties which was the moon landing. While there were not a lot of songs about space explorations, there was Telstar by the Ventures from 1962. Other huge hits from the early sixties included The Twist, by Chubby Checker, I want to hold your hand by the Beatles etc. etc. Maybe the band figured that people who were teenagers in the early sixties were either dead or senile by now. The second half was a bit better and did include one song by Glenn Campbell and a couple of others that had a wider appeal.

I was really looking forward to seeing this and it was even better than I expected!!!! It was wonderful to see a concert where I knew every word to every song! And it was good! This a cover band but the covers are fabulous! The video background is wonderful especially the Munsters dancing! This band took us on a journey!! And in the shower each morning since, I am singing red rubber ball!

The show was very well done, the Slide-show Graphics and Trivia were a Bonus. Song Choice was Spot On! If you have not seen it put it on your list!

  • Performance was OK, rating more targets Venue

by Mark W. on 10/17/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 2 out of 5

The band was like most any bar band; music was good, vocals OK. Bass feedback at times overshadowed the music and vocals. The digital displays of news events during the era kept everyone engaged with the songs presented, so that was a nice added feature. The Vogel however was uncomfortable. In previous events, table arraignments and seating presented more of a lounge or orchestra club feeling. For this event, it was more about getting as much seating in as possible. Tables set perpendicular to the stage causing everyone to adjust their seats during the show. Just set up chairs across the floor and omit the tables? Or, if getting as much money as possible is the case, have artists perform in the Basie theater. I'd rather pay a bit more to have that lounge feeling in the way the venue was built. And, for two-hour plus performances, the high-top chairs are rather uncomfortable for that length of time.

  • Great show.

  • The Sixties Show

    by N. M. on 4/7/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, loved it! The musicians are so talented, and it was nice to hear a live show without a backing track or other "enhancements". The result was a clear, crisp sound that made for a highly enjoyable experience. I also liked the song selections, there was something for everyone. I'm glad I went and I highly recommend. Also love the Cabot Theater!

  • Great Show

    by Barbara M on 4/5/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 4 out of 5

The musicians sounded a lot like the originals. The song choices could have been better. The 2 last encore songs got the audience up and out of their seats and that's the way the entire show should have been.

  • Awesome!

    by 60’s Woman on 4/5/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 4 out of 5

The show was a wonderful experience. Loved the music and visual historic displays. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that I think it would be even better if some of the female rockers were included such as Janis Joplin to mention one.

  • 5 Star

The show was outstanding. They covered a variety of 60’s songs and did a wonderful job capturing the mood and era.

  • terrific performance!

"The Sixties Show" was absolutely fantastic! So glad I went. The selection of songs was great, and the two surprises by Tiny Tim and "if i had a hammer" were a real treat. I liked how the band members sat on the stage and encouraged audience participation for the latter (for "hey Jude" as well, their final song). The band members were all very talented performers. I also enjoyed the screen in the background that displayed commercials and new items from the sixties. This was a bonus to the show. The audience was wonderful....really psyched for the show, and the theatre was packed. The audience participation was super. I can't stop talking about the show, and if it comes around again....I'll be there....front center, I hope!

  • Awesome Show!

by Cheryl lynn on 4/4/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

This was my third time seeing this show and it never gets old. The band has 3 lead singers who are all high quality and unique. They sound like every band they cover. I am looking forward to their next visit!
