by Nannygoat64 on 1/6/18The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaWe had so much fun. This is definitely a the day to go to watch the players in a relaxed atmosphere. They are so appreciative of fans who come to watch and encourage them at the beginning of the season. We we're able to get many autographs to share with family and friends. The stories we will be able to share with our grandchildren will be amazing.

Rating: 4 out of 5 SBS Tournament was worth it
by Mulligans86 on 1/11/17The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaFrom the off site parking to the access for the spectators the SBS tournament was a great event to attended. The views from the course are second to none. We spent most of our time on the 18th tee box and literally stand next to the pros and watch them hit into the ocean on one of the most scenic golf shots on the tour. There was just enough consession stands and not over priced. The merchandise tent had nice items also at reasonable prices. Overall a nice event to attend
Rating: 5 out of 5 Great tounament
by JoeMedic87 on 1/11/17The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaGreat event. Beautiful day and amazing venue. Small gallery, so you get really close to players. Wear good walking shoes, though. Lots of hills and treks between some holes, but so worth it.
Rating: 4 out of 5by Anonymous on 1/11/17The Plantation Course At Kapalua - Lahaina The Plantation Course is an outstanding golf venue, but it is very hilly. Consequently it is difficult to follow a group for all 18 holes. The clubhouse is a welcome place to refresh during the tournament. The cost is surprisingly low.
Rating: 5 out of 5 A must to do
by Laxi on 1/11/17The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaIf you are a golf player, don't miss this event. Very well managed, not crowdy. You can see the players very close. Amazing organisation. And of course the Plantation course is one of the best golf course in the world.

Rating: 1 out of 5 waste of money
by kjefromuk on 1/18/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaPurchased club house tickets for Sat & Sun. before leaving UK.This enabled entry to clubhouse and access to restaurant if you were prepared to wait min.of 1 hour. Ticket also states we would have seats in CLUB01 Row.1 Seat .3 etc.but no-one knew anything about it including Hyundai representative in the Pro Shop. If you go in future buy a ground access ticket at the entrance and cheaper
Rating: 5 out of 5 Best Day Ever
by WrongwayGrandma on 1/14/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaI am a bit handicapped carrying oxygen and have trouble walking so we arrived 2 hours early for a place at 18th green bleachers. I was offered a ride immediately after entering! He offered water and drove us to the only bleaches that would be in the shade later. He was there, again, at the end of the day. So very nice. Hats off to Vanessa who was the Marshall at our bleaches. She was challenged when she had to explain to a patron why she had to remove his chairs who was saving their spot which was not allowed. Of course the "the entitled one" was upset but she handled it nicely and went the extra mile taking his chairs over to a spot he found in another bleachers. For the life of me I could not understand why he couldn't take his chairs with him. She handled other patrons so well who were aghast that these primo bleaches were full as a line formed. I did not get yhe name of her replacement as she was wonderful likewise. My only issue is that we were unable to read either leader board. We did do our best to rely on the boys carrying the scoreboards but those, too, were inconsistent to be able to read. Just an FYI for the future and we will definitely bring binoculars if we are blessed to attend again.

by Anonymous on 1/14/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaGreat day at an incredible course! Great to see the pros. Good food that was reasonably priced. Makes me want to go every year.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Good Golf
by Anonymous on 1/13/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaGot to the event and found my name on the will call list, as requested. The attendant mentioned that I should have printed my own ticket if I wanted to avoid any line. Makes sense. The Tournament has been slowly dying for years and needed a Jordon Spieth who brought the excitement back to where it was when Tiger was coming. Noticed a rather large cult following for Ricky Fowler. Lots of teens picking up on his daily fashion statement. Never thought I would see orange/silver high tops on a pro golf course... Weather was great. watched the early football game where people looked like they were freezing. Hey folks back east, our Ice Tea does not get that cold...
Rating: 3 out of 5 Hyundai Tournament of Champions
by RockiesGuy on 1/13/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaHaving attended several of these tournaments, I thought they were much more fun for the non-VIP attendees when Mercedes sponsored the tournaments (parking/shuttling, games with prizes, gifts, food and beverages, etc.). The quality of the tournament has gradually diminished since Hyundai/SBS took over the tournament. I don't see much fan appreciation from Hyundai. The souvenir t-shirts, hats and clothing were especially lackluster this year. The vendor tents weren't very interesting, either. The parking/shuttling took too long. On the bright side, the field of players was stellar and larger than last year.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Tournament of Champions in Maui
by Brianandgolf on 1/12/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaBy far the best golf tournament you can attend. While the field is small the overall feel of the event is exciting. Access to be close to golfers..very close is amazing. Crowds are present but by far less comparison to even Sony in Honolulu. The views are excellent.
Rating: 5 out of 5by maui13 on 1/11/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - Lahaina Great course, good tournament second time to watch it.
Rating: 4 out of 5by Golfer2016 on 1/11/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - Lahaina The Hyundai tournament was terrific -- super field of amazing players. Weather was exceptional at this great location.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Amazing course
by Briarwoodclub on 1/11/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaThe views were spectacular. Suggest wearing walking shoes if you plan to go to the back nine. All uphill to get there. Got to see Zach Johnson and the other champions. Great opportunity to see the top tier. No photos allowed so forget the cameras.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Up Close with 2015 Winners
by DRBrandiFan on 1/11/16The Plantation Course At Kapalua - LahainaWe attend this tournament every year, but this field was one of the best with 32 attending. It continues to gain in popularity and stature with nearly all winners attending. The elite field is small enough so we can see every player up close, and the golf venue and views are just awesome. We'd rate it 5 stars except for the one really critical negative: the transportation to the event and access are the absolute worst, and getting worse every year. Tournament organizers appear to do all they can to keep people from getting to the event. E.g., we're within a mile and easy walking distance of the event, we always have advance tickets, but no one is allowed to walk into the event. Instead all attendees must come in via a large shuttle bus, the only boarding point is a 12-mile round trip in opposite direction of us. Worse, there aren't enough shuttles, so lines and wait are very long--terrible logistic coordination 2 yrs. in a row. A far better job should be done, ticketed walk-ins should be allowed at the door! Word is out, attendance is suffering, all attendees are griping about the awful logistics and entry access. No excuse for not fixing this, it's 2nd year of this restriction, and worse than ever. If not improved next year, we'll quit attending and just watch on TV, and we're spreading the word. What a shame, and so unnecessary!
