Very informative into the demon tactics glad I know Jesus as my Savior and security in eternal life with Him now and forever. Greatly for Gods victory
Nothing like the book. I’ll do my homework next time. The show was hard to follow. Characters talked to fast. The show was rushed...
90 minutes of monologue sounds daunting, but not as acted and produced by the Fellowship for Performing Arts. We were drawn into the "conversation" through the letters between uncle Screwtape and his nephew Wormwood, by the acting skill of Brent Harris, and Screwtape's adorable and horrible sidekick Toadpipe. I believe Toadpipe was played by 3 actresses; although I think I caught only one of the switches. For a thought-provoking and entertaining trip, whether or not you've read CS Lewis before, hope you get a chance to see this. I'll be looking for future productions by this company.
Top notch in every way. Fabulous acting and performance of CS Lewis' timeless writing. Highly recommend it, and I hope that the organization that brought this to Birmingham will bring other works.
The Screwtape performance was GREAT, as it has been the last two times we have come to the BJCC Concert Hall to enjoy a tremendous production. The only issue was, My wife and I, the FIVE additional COUPLES we brought as quests and at least BOTH ROWS in front and back of us were so cold during the entire time, it was Very difficult to enjoy because we were so uncomfortable. literally wouldn’t come back to the BJCC Concert Hall without wearing a heavy coat and a toboggan with gloves.
90 minutes went by in a flash. Excellent performance by both actors. Loved the book. Loved the play. Thank you for bringing to Birningham.
Very interesting, never lost concentration the whole show.
This was the first time my husband and I have seen this show. We were so impressed by the actors, and we were amazed how such a simple stage could turn out the be the perfect setting for bringing the book to life. Even the way the music would change (when the demon portrayed something specific Screwtape was describing) proved to be a useful way to expand the characters. We were so engaged that we were shocked when it came to an end so quickly! We would highly recommend this.
Thoroughly enjoyed the performance. We’ll worth attending.
To start....we were 15 minutes late because the interstate was closed due to a wreck. We missed the prologue. Knowing generally the tale being told helped us catch up with the story. We were generally intrigued by the tale. Actors were fantastic and engaging. Letters somewhat difficult to comprehend on the fly with no prior knowledge. Overall a very good experience. I recommend to others.
Impressively adapted for the stage from the book and powerfully acted! Only one scene change and two characters on stage, which sounds like it could get slow, but that was not the case -- so well done!!
Excellent theatrical presentation of a timeless Christian book.
This my 3rd time watching this fabulous monologue play and the story and actors never disappoint.
I really enjoyed the monologue as well as the minimal but very effective staging. The use of the non-speaking character whose name escapes me at the moment , was very effective. Bravo.
What a worthwhile, unique way to experience the writings of the brilliant C.S. Lewis. We are grateful that this brilliant rendition of Lewis's book was brought to the stage in Ft. Lauderdale. We hope that thus product ion company comes often.
Excellent performance. Captured the essence of CS Lewis cleverly elucidated themology in a modern frame. Actor fit the part in structured discourse. Please bring more events from this company.
We pulled in and it is being remodeled so parking was a bit of challenge because I cannot walk too far and parking is on the lawn but the attendants were very helpful and led us close when asked. The theater is so lovely while undergoing renovations I hope it doesn't lose its vintage charm! The play was super awesome! The Screwtape Letters were well acted and a joy!
I don’t know how a two person play captured an entire audience, but that’s exactly what happened.
It was thought provoking, funny and wonderful. Incredible acting!! Loved it!!!
