About

The Rolling Stones are one of the most influential and longest-lasting bands to cross over during the ’60s British Invasion. The group stands as one of the best-selling acts of all time with 200 million records sold worldwide, and is responsible for two of the highest-grossing tours of all time within the last two decades. Blending blues and rock, the first main lineup of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts broke out in 1965 with their first chart-topping album Out of Our Heads and back-to-back Hot 100 No. 1 singles “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction” and “Get Off of My Cloud.” The group topped the Hot 100 again with 1966’s “Paint It, Black,” 1967’s “Ruby Tuesday” and 1969’s “Honky Tonk Women.” With the addition of guitarist Mick Taylor, The Rolling Stones released their second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with 1971’s Sticky Fingers, kicking off a streak of eight consecutive chart-topping debuts through 1981’s Tattoo You. Ronnie Wood made his debut as Taylor’s full-time replacement with 1978’s Some Girls, which hosted the group’s Hot 100 No. 1 “Miss You.” The Rolling Stones were the recipients of The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. They collected their first of three career Grammy Awards in 1995. The group broke the record for highest-grossing tour in 1990 and reclaimed the top spot in 1995 and 2007, becoming the only band to headline the highest-grossing tour of the decade twice. The No Filter World Tour from 2017 to 2021 closed as the fifth highest-earning tour ever. Most recently, the band released their first album of original material in 18 years, 2023’s Hackney Diamonds.

    Still rolling and rocking

by K. on 7/18/19Mercedes-Benz Superdome - New Orleans

The Stones put on a stellar show once again. This was my fourth Stones concert and they haven't let up a bit. From "Jumpin' Jack Flash" to "Satisfaction" with a few lesser-known gems in between, the show was a good blend of all eras of their music. Mick Jagger was in top form and a joy to watch. Don't miss this show, if you have the chance.

It's Alright now, in fact, it's a gas!

by Munk on 7/18/19Mercedes-Benz Superdome - New Orleans

After two postponements, the Stones graciously rolled into the City that Care Forgot to deliver some ageless (unlike them and a good portion of the audience) rock 'n roll. Mick, Keith, Ron, and Charlie were just like I remember them from my 1st time 30 years ago (I thought they were old then!) and the rest of the band was tight. The setlist choices were lip-smacking good and the only topper that I could imagine would be Mick and Keith astride the Superdome roof for one final hurricane party blasting out being "born in a crossfire hurricane" and outlasting an army of drowned cockroaches as 300 years worth of "elegant decay" swirled downriver. "Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name..."

Best Stadium Concert I've Ever Seen

by Blastman on 7/18/19Mercedes-Benz Superdome - New Orleans

Ok, the Stones were great! Everyone knew they would be, but what made the event special were the new friends that I made both before, during and after the concert. Got great pics, all the security people were very polite and friendly, Dumpstaphunk and Soul Rebels got the crowd ready and amped up for the Stones. The band couldn't be in their 70's and not show their age, but they rocked so much better than any deadbeat millennial band. The Rolling Stones once again proved that they are the "Greatest Rock and Roll Band in The World".

    Dreams come true

by RS FAN on 7/18/19Mercedes-Benz Superdome - New Orleans

My dad is a huge Stones fan. He saw them when he was in Germany in 1982 when he was 20 and I saw them why I was 20. I bought tickets at last minute and could only afford the super cheap nose bleed seats. Well, the stairs were very long and I tripped going down after finally finding our seat. Sweet Mrs. Smith saw me and helped me. She told me she would take care of me, I was shocked because I did not scrape my leg, just fell. She pulled out 3 level 100 tickets for my family and I to sit at. This made my dad’s life. Being able to take his 2 daughters to a Rolling Stones concert wearing his old shirt from 1982 and 1989 and getting upgraded-my dad was crying tears of joy. The hurricane can’t stop us from having fun and God’s blessing. This is by far our best family memory. Thank you!

    The Rolling Stones

by Jmspb on 7/18/19Mercedes-Benz Superdome - New Orleans

Awesome every step of the way. From buying tickets through Ticketmaster, to arriving, to watching, to exiting. Crowd control was performed excellently. This was my first time in this stadium but everything for where to go was well marked. The only confusions were some of the staff didn’t understand the arm bands and were trying to tell me I wasn’t in the right area (which I was); and when purchasing a drink (bottle of water) we were told we could not take the bottle. The cup was awkward and would spill easily. Once in our seats on the floor, we saw many people with bottles of all sorts of drinks. Neither of those items affected the enjoyment of the show. I was impressed with how short the wait was to get in and out. I arrived prior to the 530 door opening. At exactly 530 the crowd started in. I got in within 10 minutes. After the show, I was in a cab and on my way to the Quarter within 20 minutes.
