  • Awesome show

by Mark P. on 3/11/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I saw this show last year when they were in Ft. Lauderdale, and will go see it again if it comes back. Almost better than the real thing, because you can sit much closer than you ever could at a real Elton John show. Russ is extremely talented, and is amazing on the piano. He played most of Elton's hits from the 70's and early 80's. You won't be disappointed!

Music, costumes, and set were all great. The star of the show was excellent, a superb pianist, singer, and performer. The band members were excellent, as well, very talented on guitar and drums.

The performance was great! Rus Anderson is extremely talented and his Elton John performance gave him a chance to display all of his skills. The rest of the group was topnotch too. Please lt me know when he will be in our area again. We would see them again and bring friends.

  • A Great Evening

by Tom Fru on 3/1/24Rating: 5 out of 5

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the show . Russ is an excellent piano player and great entertainer. Now for some of the negative reviews I am seeing. Does his voice sound exactly like Elton? No...but to expect that from a tribute show is a bit unrealistic. These reviewers remind me of going to see local bands play in a club back in my 20s and certain other bands would stand in the back with their arms crossed looking miserable and critiquing everything rather than being up front with us encouraging our fellow musicians. Entirely too cool and full of themselves to just have a good time. Sad.

  • Enjoyable Show

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I really felt like I was listening to Elton John himself. I highly recommend catching this show.

  • SATURDAY NIGHT WAS BETTER THAN ALRIGHT

by James on 2/21/24Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 5 out of 5

Honestly, I was expecting to be modestly entertained. To my great surprise, I was super entertained. It was a rock and roll nostalgia trip down Elton John Lane. The performer's connection to Elton was great, his wife, a back up singer/dancer worked for him. The energy was amazing, the piano playing was pure fire. Elton and the band owned the stage and earned mine and the audience's respect by the end of the show!

Great show! You can't even tell that he is not Elton. Would love to see him again.

  • Excellent Show...Worth the Money

by Patty on 2/20/24Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 5 out of 5

Hi. We attended this show last year and really really enjoyed it. So we decided to bring two others with us this year. And they loved it too! Russ Anderson is fabulous and can play the piano better than Elton!!! He is entertaining and endearing and plays all the great hits from Elton. He so appreciates the audience support and is living the dream! His band and singers are all very very good as well. Would definitely recommend and will be going when he comes back next year! The audience was totally into it and there were people there of all ages. If you love Elton, you will love this show too!

  • Don’t do it!

by George on 2/20/24Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 2 out of 5

The stage decor looked like something from a high school play. The singer’s voice is much higher than Elton’s. You couldn’t hear the background singers or they were gone when the song required them. In general the sound and lighting were way off. The guitarist, bass and drums were fine. If Elton saw a recent show he would shut it down.

  • Good

Skilled piano player - wish he did an acoustic set could have been a 5-star review - Maybe more history on the songs themselves ...

  • Best I've Ever Seen

by EllenGP on 2/20/24Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 5 out of 5

I never had the opportunity to see Elton John in person. I was always a big fan of Elton. When I saw that this concert was coming to my town, I was very curious thinking it may just be a sappy ripoff concert. I did some reading up on it and discovered that Russ Anderson was personally selected by Elton John to be his offical body double. Russ is a personable family man and his wife performs along side of him as well. Good clean fun. Russ and his band members have extraordinary talent and energy. My family gave rave reviews about the concert too. The show is well worth seeing. In fact, my family and I saw it a second time the next year the production came to the Oakdale Theatre. You wont be disappointed.

  • Good show

by Dmax on 2/20/24Toyota Oakdale Theatre - WallingfordRating: 4 out of 5

Very entertaining show. Would recommend for any Elton John fans. The venue like all others absolutely rip off their customers with prices. We had one bartender who was miserable and one that was very nice and has a pleasure to deal with.

  • Rocket Man ... Loud !

by Guzziguy on 2/14/24Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 4 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the piano players talents, both keyboard and vocals. I felt the accompaniment guitars were Way too loud and the piano itself was overpowering the vocals. I have seen Elton John live (in Sicily) in an open Greek Theater and it was amazing how his vocals came through first, with a satisfying infusion of his piano skills. Sound board issues? Theater acoustics?

  • One of the best shows I've seen!

by Earlobe on 2/12/24Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

We go to many shows at smaller venues. I can't compare this show to a huge venue with original groups, but for a cover band (not sure that's the right term for his show), this was excellent! His energy level and theatrics made the show. They all looked like they truly enjoyed performing for us. The Rocket Man could stand his ground at a much larger venue. The costumes were ridiculously wonderful. Go see it. You won't be sorry.

  • crowd was obnoxious

by orracle on 2/12/24Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 3 out of 5

First of all, the performer was fine. But there was a big group behind us that wouldn't shut up. Talking, yelling and generally disruptive--and then there were the ones with the flashing lights. The back up band was great--but he never bothered to introduce them. First time in the many many shows I've been to where that happened. Way too much "filler". Just instrumentals between songs. Missed a number of songs he could have done.
