Such talented musicians! Rus Anderson was so spot on as Elton, and so much fun. What a phenomenal piano player! He couldn’t have had a better band. I’m so glad we went.

We enjoyed the show. He could really play that piano! But doesn't sound like Elton.

  • A pleasant surprise

by Max Riley on 8/26/25Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - GreensboroRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was most entertaining. I am not a big fan of Elton John but I do appreciate that his music is iconic. The star of the show was truly a star. The people behind us had driven up from Alabama to attend.

  • Would see over and over once per year

This was such a fun experience. I grew up in the 70s and Elton John was a favorite of mine. This took me back to that time in my life. I will definitely go again and I highly recommend. Everyone was talented.

  • Good Show Talented Performer

by Todd24112 on 8/26/25Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - GreensboroRating: 4 out of 5

The performer is amazingly talented especially playing piano. Only issue is he plays too fast compared to Elton John live or on the records. Band is good but minimal needs a bit more guitar especially. Overall very good.

  • Great Show

Great show and venue. Also interesting to hear some history of the performer.

  • Decent Show

by Randun on 8/26/25Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - GreensboroRating: 4 out of 5

Show was decent. Excellent piano player. Lots of banter with the audience. Related numerous Elton John stories. Stage set was cheesy and cluttered. I enjoyed the show but I would not see it again.

  • Amazing Show well performed and engaged with audience!!

by Jofe on 8/26/25Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - GreensboroRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed 2.5hrs of show! Time ran fast because we were all the time engaged in the concert, bring back a lot of memories in a perfect execution of Elthon songs. Nice to see talented artist and his performance is an excellent tribute to one of the best singers from our age. Thank you for a great evening!

  • Awesome show!

I’m always skeptical of performers “imitating” someone who is an icon. Elton John is my all time favorite male singer and I didn’t think anyone could come close to recreating his sounds. This band nailed it! The piano playing, the singing, the band, and the overall look of the show were fantastic.

  • Great show but please redirect the lights!

by Dale on 8/25/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great - at least, the parts we could actually see. We were on the fourth row and during several songs, laser-bright lights were continually directed from the back of the stage into the audience at eye level. The lights were so bright we unable to keep our eyes open during some songs. We came to see the performance, not the audience. What we did see (and hear) was great, but we wish could have watched the entire show.

  • Disappointing

by SRW on 8/25/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 2 out of 5

I went into this show with really high expectations and left feeling deeply disappointed. The set list itself was promising—so many classic Elton John hits that should have made for an incredible evening. Unfortunately, the execution fell far short. The performer’s voice simply didn’t suit the music; it lacked the richness and tone. Instead of capturing that unique sound, his delivery felt flat. What made matters worse was the pacing—he sang nearly every song much too fast, which stripped away the emotion and nuance of the music. Songs that should have built slowly and carried weight ended up sounding rushed and hollow. It felt less like a tribute to Elton John and more like someone trying to get through the set list as quickly as possible. The overall effect was jarring. I actually found myself dreading the second half of the show and wanted to leave at intermission, but my husband wasn’t on board with that idea. By the time it ended, I felt drained rather than uplifted. It’s a shame, because the song selections had so much potential. With the right performer, this could have been an unforgettable night. Instead, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing shows I’ve attended in a long time.
