About

The Rock Orchestra By Candlelight are a band of classical musicians from the United Kingdom who transform rock and metal songs into dark symphonies. The group of 14 musicians regularly performs concerts bathed in an ethereal candlelit glow as they turn songs by AC/DC, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Linkin Park and more into swirling, dark rhapsodies that bridge the chasm between metal, hard rock and classical music. In 2024, The Rock Orchestra will embark on a tour of their native U.K. as well as Europe and the U.S. to present their thrilling new 90-minute show.

This was my first candle light orchestra concert. I was very impressed. Great Show!!

  • Great Performance!

I liked their repertory and setup, but they could use a different female singer. The singer does not go along with an orchestra tone, she is good for a rock/alternative band. They need someone who does more of a light-tenor type to match the melody of an orchestra. Overall, it is a great and enjoyable concert. One less on my bucket list :)

This show was spectacular. Truly enjoyed it. Would go again. Most of the music was recognizable by somebody in our group.

If you have the opportunity , you must go see The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight. My 16 year old son and I have a wide range of music interests and I saw their ad on Facebook and decided we needed to see what they were all about. So glad we did! Non stop great music and wonderful show. We will go back when they tour again.

  • A cacophony of sound

by Notavanagain on 4/11/24Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

Overly amplified, marginal vocals, some technical difficulties, somewhat disappointing.

  • Great Experience

I went to the show not sure what exactly to expect. My daughter and I both loved the performance and the music selection. If you are a hard rock fan this is a show worth attending.

It was spectacular, enormous energy, I was left wanting a Ramones song.

  • Sound was horrible.

by Ted on 4/11/24Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 2 out of 5

Sound seemed muddled and we couldn’t recognize most of the songs. It wasn’t the sound system or sound engineer. The visual aspect of the show was okay. Not worth the money.

  • Definitely worth seeing!

by Natalie on 4/10/24The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 4 out of 5

This was a very unique and fun show. The song choices, musicians, and singers were all fantastic. It's hard to believe how well they played guitar solos on violins, sounding somehow even better than guitars. They did an amazing job of closing the show, including the encore. If you appreciate rock music, you will love it!

  • A Different, Yet Exciting Experience

by missaretha on 4/10/24The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I'm a classically trained opera singer who performs everything from Mozart to Metallica. The combination of heavy metal and hard rock music combined with classical instruments is an amazing combination. For those who saw it for the first time, they were likely surprised. This was everything I expected and more. Taking two types of music from seeming ly opposite ends of the musical spectrum and combining them is art and mastery. The Rock Orchestra's Violinist was superb. She really rocked the house. It's not easy to learn and perform guitar solos that Slash is famous for and kick ass on it. She did. I had a great time. Costuming was great. The light show was impeccably designed as well.

  • Amazing show 👏 ❤️

by Daya on 4/10/24The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing 👏 🤩 But was really crazy that the theater makes me pay a ticket for my 2 years old, who was on my legs all the time

  • Great experience didn’t quite meet the mark

by Leo on 4/10/24The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 4 out of 5

The band itself was great and their skill is incredible. However, the venue itself was poorly set up for this kind of performance. The acoustics were subpar. The seating and organization wasn’t there. The set list was shorter than other ones that had been reported and could have been better crafted.

  • The band works hard to make it an impressive show

Great music. The band works hard to make it an impressive show

  • AMAZING Time!

This was one of our favorite Candlelight experiences. Absolutely a different vibe from previous one's we have attended. The music selection was awesome as well as costume and set. Everyone in character to the theme and it was just so unique. We could have done away with the vendors carrying around the beer though. It was a disruption from the overall experience.
