About

The Rock Orchestra By Candlelight are a band of classical musicians from the United Kingdom who transform rock and metal songs into dark symphonies. The group of 14 musicians regularly performs concerts bathed in an ethereal candlelit glow as they turn songs by AC/DC, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Linkin Park and more into swirling, dark rhapsodies that bridge the chasm between metal, hard rock and classical music. In 2024, The Rock Orchestra will embark on a tour of their native U.K. as well as Europe and the U.S. to present their thrilling new 90-minute show.

Was so high energy and so much talent! Just wish they had sang all the songs and played one ELO song from the rock orchestra master himself Jeff Lynne. But thoroughly enjoyed every minute

  • Research before buying

Not as advertised, the electric Violin was muddy in a few songs and the brass was just too much and drown out the rest of the instruments. For the amount that was paid I expected better. The candle light concerts are normally a much more intimate event and his is NOT that. If you like lasers, blaring lights and rock concerts this is it. I would not consider this an orchestra.

  • Rockin' Out in Mpls

by Johnieboy on 5/2/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I thought the production as a whole was great and certainly entertaining. I thought an opportunity was missed to put one of their trumpet players in the forefront during Sweet Child O' Mine, where Slash starts ripping it up and returning it to the electric violin after "where do we go". Could have done w/o all the F U's in Killing in the Name, but I get it, it's ROCK. All in all my wife and I enjoyed the show and had a great time.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect, I thought what the heck my husband doesn’t attend rock concerts with me, just not his thing. We went and had a blast. They really get the audience attention, and lots of interaction. A must see show!!!

  • Rocking and entertaining

by Miles on 4/27/25Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

Went to a candlelight concert for Halloween and wasn't sure I could do this concert, BUT this concert was awesome and had so much more entertainment than the Halloween concert. Great light show, singing for some songs, and master orchestra players. It was such a a great night and would recommend for anyone who isn't sure about attending, just buy the tickets.

  • It was pretty good

by Audra on 4/27/25Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 3 out of 5

All in all it was really good. But it was not by candlelight at all. It was an intense strobing light show. Which is not what was advertised. I still had a great time, but maybe leave out the candlelight if you are only going to show those between songs.
