THE RECORD COMPANY IN CONCERT:

LA-based blues rock outfit The Record Company has opened for everyone from B.B. King and Buddy Guy to Social Distortion and Grace Potter, but the band's acclaimed 2016 debut album Give It Back To You made clear what their loyal fans already knew: these guys were born to headline. Since the record's release the talented trio has topped Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs chart with their single "Off the Ground" and wowed on their first headlining tour with no-nonsense sets that put their impressive rock chops front and center. In concert they combine twangy slide guitar and driving distorted bass with elemental drumming that gives their songs serious rhythmic heft. Their palette is minimal, but it's the perfect foundation for singer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Vos, whose soulful voice and self-aware lyrics imbue the band's tunes with arresting emotional complexity. In the wake of their acclaimed debut The Record Company has wind in their sails, and fans can't help but get caught up in the excitement any time they kick out their bluesy brand of rock and roll.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Record Company formed in Los Angeles in 2011 and spent their early days writing and recording in the living room of bassist Alex Stiff. They self-released a few 7" singles and an EP of covers in 2012, including a version of The O'Jays' "Love Train" that was featured in a Coors Light commercial. TV placements on shows like USA's Suits and CBS's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation followed, and by 2014 they were performing at major festivals across the country and touring in support of legends like Brian Setzer and Trombone Shorty. Following a 2015 European tour in support of Blackberry Smoke, The Record Company made their full-length album debut with Give It Back To You. The record was a critical and commercial success, spawning the hit single "Off the Ground" and drumming up major excitement for their first headlining tour.

The Record Company Rocked Rough Trade

by JeffPar on 10/28/16Rough Trade NYC - Brooklyn

The Record Company put on a great show at a great venue! While they only have one album out they are a very talented three piece band that have written some great songs and they have a great vibe, They exceeded expectations and the opening band called Muddy Magnolias was awesome as well. I would highly recommend both The Record Company and the venue!

These three gentlemen brought the house down at this sold out show at The Sinclair. I have never danced so much in my life. My abs are still sore.

Amazing energy, great sound, awesome venue!

    by Maverick18477 on 10/27/16The Sinclair - Cambridge

The band absolutely killed it! If you like blues/blues rock, this might be one of the better bands out there and you should definitely go watch them as soon as you can because I have a feeling that this band is going to be big, sometime really soon! For a 3 person band, they produce some amazing sound. The lead singer/guitarist/harmonic player is amazingly talented and has great energy. The set was really tight and they really got the (smallish) crowd rocking. It was also great to see that the band was truly appreciative of the crowd - it was a sold out show on a Monday night and they definitely amped up their performance to match the energy of the crowd. A tip of the hat to the opening act as well; Muddy Magnolias. They had a good sound and seems like they might actually be an up and coming band.

by JRskillz on 10/24/16Tralf - Buffalo

From the first song "On the Move", the vibe was electric and infectious...The band was engaging and energetic...One thing you always want at a live concert, the band played songs off their album but ramped energy and the sound...made for an amazing night...plus they did So What Cha Want from the Beastie Boys...

    Totally WOWED in Woodstock

by Rickymike on 10/20/16Bearsville Theater - Woodstock

I first had the opportunity to hear The Record Company at Mountain Jam 2016. 3 young men walked up on a stage & let loose with some of the most energetic, passionate, emotion filled performance i have witnessed in quite some time. When i heard that they were going to perform at The Bearsville Theater I logged onto my computer & purchased tickets right away. I was totally blown away once again by the raw, unpretentious, genuine performance that ensued throughout the entire show. if REAL means anything to you when going to a concert then i would encourage everyone to make it a point to, GO SEE THIS BAND.

by ShariSawIt on 10/20/16Bearsville Theater - Woodstock

The Record Company in Woodstock was fantastic! What a great band. They definitely have something special going on and there is no one else like them out there. The venue, Bearsville Theater, was a great space for a show like this and it was all in Woodstock! We made an over nighter out of it and did some shopping the next day. I definitely got my groove on and had a groovy time. I have seen these guys before and definitely hope to see them again!i

Best show I've seen all year

by CPMJ on 10/13/1620th Century Theater - Cincinnati

Run as fast as you can to see the Record Company. With the way that band brings it, you won't be able to catch them in small venues for long. Next time around, you'll have to see them in large theaters or arenas, and you don't want to be the person hearing about how amazing their small-venue shows were wishing it was you telling the story.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to

by CXL624 on 8/8/16Port City Music Hall - Portland

As a big-time lover of music, I have been to many, many concerts. I am happy to rank this show by The Record Company as one of my very favorite live performances ever. They are incredibly talented, and the music is soulful and energetic. They really poured their hearts into the performance. I truly believe this group is about to take over the music scene in a big way. I consider it a privilege to have been present for their first ever show in Maine and can't wait until they come back.

Great Performance by the Record Company!

by ChuckF29 on 7/25/16The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

What an awesome show put on by the Record Company at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park on Friday night! The sound was great, the band had lots of energy (even after driving down from Maine) and they played nearly every song from their first major release. If you like good old rock n roll with a slightly bluesy edge to it, don't miss this band!

Go see them before they explode!

by DQuags on 7/25/16The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

Wow, what a great show! Makes you believe that rock and roll is alive and kicking. I'll see dozens of bands and only once in a while do you get that "I saw them in a small venue before they broke " moment-these guys will break and I couldn't be happier for them. 3 guys-great grooves and hooks with harp, lap, accustic and electric guitars to back it up.
