The Rascals: A Dream Come True

by MisplacedBrooklynite on 4/29/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

I was very young when the Rascals first came upon the scene and they were my first real influence in music. I always enjoyed their songs and I wanted to play drums as well as Dino. This show took me back to those early years. The band played wonderfully. I'm so glad I had a chance to experience this event.

The Rascals: Once Upon A Dream - GREAT SHOW!

by RascalsLoverInNYC on 4/29/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

This was one of the best shows I've ever seen, especially since it was more of a concert that a show, the band was great, they did all of their hit songs (and then some) which evoked wonderful memories. If you love The Rascals, you'll love this show!

A return to our Youth !

by yalelebo on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

The Rascals performance at The Richard Rogers Theater 4/26/2013 was no less than a visit to The Fountain of Youth! Their Songs which were Hits during The 1960's Rocked and Rolled us just as they did when their records were released during the 1960's decade. Eddie Brigatti and Felix Cavalierre 's Singing and Music along with The Drumming of Dino Dinelli, and Guitar of Gene Cornish, were as Fresh and Clear as they were when They Rock and Rolled us in their Original Days.I do believe that I and many of the Other Audience members were Dancing in Our seats and the isles. The story of How The Rascals came together and became stars is a history of talent and credentials which is not commonly told. Their Music is "Good Time Music" and A Good time is what this Concert Is

The Rascals were one of my favorite bands. My band opened for them @ Convention Hall Asbury Park in the summer of 69.They slowed up quite a few songs,(but haven't we all) but overall it was a very entertaining show.

    the rascals were fantastic!

by postave on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

the music was as good as it was in the 60's! my wife saw them at the Barge in Southhampton in the 60's and she said they were as good as back then! Felix looked great and Gene Cornish was as good as any guitarist that I've seen live, that includes Richard, Clapton, Berry and Dick Dale. It was one of the best shows about rock and roll Ive seen, the story behind the group was moving and since my wife and I were both young and lived the same things, it hit home.

The Rascals Once upon a dream was amazing

by TommyK3333 on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

We sat about as far back in the balcony as you could get, but the view was magnificent. I had a smile on my face from the minute the curtain went up until the end It was great. Steve Van Zandt hit it it out of the park! I loved it.

    Temptation got me!

by MeadowbrookMadness on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

If you are a Rascals fan, you will definitely enjoy the vibe and energy that the band brings out on stage. If you are not familiar with the group it might seem a bit out of date. Felix still has that great R&B voice and rhythm which is only added to by Dino Danelli's polished drum work. Eddie has great energy and excitement but, after all these guys must be pushing 70, the years have taken their toll. Nevertheless the group performs well, they have a great back-up vocal unit so the sound and 28 songs were a great re-living of one of the more enduring bands of the 60's and early 70's. The video biography is quite interesting and tells of a performing journey that brought the group together. All in all it was a fun night and one of the more interesting people watching events in terms of the audience draw (some folks trying awfully hard to take a decade or more off their appearance).

    Almost there!

by YOUNGFAN01 on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

It is a great concept to have the Rascals back together. Way too overdue! Seeing them again was wonderful but I do have some criticism. I thought the storytelling was not as strong, and the young actors weak. The sound system was weak - could not hear the storyline clearly and Felix's vocals did not come through well. I was not happy with the selection of secondary songs - those of us who listened to the Rascals in the bars in the 60s were more familiar with songs like "Mustang Sally", and "In the Midnight Hour", even though neither were original hits and unfortunately not included here. I also didn't care for the placement of songs - "Groovin'" was their biggest hit yet it was not highlighted at all in the storyline and basically came up with no intro and placed no differently than the secondary album songs. Overall, I enjoyed it but it fell short of being a knockout, which it could have been.. Given that there are many 60s groups performing with one, or even less original members, there is NO question that a top group like the Rascals, with ALL 4 original members, should be making people happy again!

Rascals were more than I could have ever imagine!!

by Arleneleg on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

My husband wanted to surprise me with these tickets. My daughter told me his plans so I could act excited! I knew of the music, but really never saw them. My husband grew up listening and watching them on the island. He said it was a surprise for me but in reality it was for HIM. The clincher was when the tickets were confirmed he said- You probably don't know their music. My feelings for the show weren't the highest but I knew my husband was excited. Oh my goodness- the show was so terrific! I can't find the words big enough to say how great it was. Driving home I put it on my best things that we have ever done. I immediately went home to try and find more tickets to buy. They are all sold out! I haven't stopped talking about this experience. Thank you so much!

    the Rascals rocked my world!!

by loverascals on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

I took my skeptical husband to see the Rascals. I grew up singing along with their record and I always loved them. My husband was not so familiar and didn't think it was it was going to be good. Boy was he surprised, he kept saying. "This is so good. I want all the cds now" well I got them. The performance was outstanding, the energy, the set, the theatre. We were really wowed. I want to go again. Thanks for giving me a opportunity to see a group from my teenage years.

    Rascals Flashback

by Anonymous on 4/28/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Flashback to when concerts were in small theaters or collage gyms. The music is what is it's all about. Music pretty much right on. We enjoyed every minute of the concert.

Great sound, wished they had a brass section.(Stevie.... Bring in the horns!) fabulous projection screen animation.
