THE PRODUCERS at the Hollywood Bowl was just as good as it was on Broadway, maybe even better since there was a larger cast! Our seats were in Section E, which is next to the Terrace Boxes but all the way on stage right. The vantage point was fine even though we were off to the side.
I am a big Mel Brooks fan and very familiar with "The Producers" --I've seen the film and I have a CD of the music being recorded. Susie Stroman did a great job as she always does in choreographing the show. It would be great to see more musicals at the Bowl in addition to the concerts.
Beautiful setting, great music, hysterical plot, talented actors, fun, fun, fun.
I am embarrassed to say that I have never attended an event at the Hollywood Bowl in all the years that I have lived in LA. THE PRODUCERS was a wonderful introduction to a new tradition. From the great seats, delicious picnic and friendly crowd, we had a terrific time. Loved the performance - and Mel Brooks' surprise cameo! Next year, I will be certain to check the Summer schedule, make some selections and plan enough in advance to book a box! Can't wait!
Great actors/singers/dancers. The play is very funny and I enjoyed it. It is definitely not my favorite musical ever but I would recommend it. Great cast.
We always enjoy the Hollywood Bowl, but this performance was lackluster and derivative. Our least favorite of the musical performances in past years.
is it true that they put this together in 3 days? seemed like they'd been touring for months! Smart cast , smart dialogue from a timeless script and great staging made this production of The Producers a must see. The Hollywood Bowl is a great night out for everyone.
I personally enjoyed it more than Wicked! This is not exactly a child-friendly show of course.
Took my husband for his birthday to see this show at the Hollywood Bowl. It was a lot funnier than we had expected and very colorful- language, costumes, singing, & dancing. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
The production was pretty flawless and when Mel Brooks came out and took a bow, the eveing was complete.
This was excellent and the fact that Mel Brooks made an appearance at the end of the show just made the event. I loved it!!!!!!
