  • Absolutely NOT worth the money!!

by Mitchell on 8/19/25Saenger Theatre Mobile - MobileRating: 2 out of 5

I was beyond excited about this event but it turned out to be an overpriced movie ticket, where fellow patrons verbally respond to the entire movie. Likewise, the beloved Cary Elwes was cliche, arrogant and cocky. I was so gravely disappointed & embarrassed to have bought these tickets.

  • It was Inconceivable!

Great experience! We did the VIP Meet and Greet package. We entered the theater at 4:30pm and got lined up for when was a brief meet n greet and a photo with Cary. He was very kind and the professionally taken photo looks fantastic! We didn’t ask for anything specific but from the photo album it does look they honored requests for individual photos. We went as a family of 4 so we took a group photo. If your spouse wants that picture of herself with Wesley/The Dread Pirate Roberts all you had to do was ask. Afterwords we received a paperback/signed copy of his book. Afterwards we had plenty of time to run the books back to our vehicle so we didn’t have to carry them around and grab a bit to eat before the actual screening of the movie. The movie itself speaks for itself but seeing it on the big screen was pretty awesome. The Q and A afterwards was entertaining. They had a local radio DJ serve as the host who did a great job. Looks like there were some canned questions that they probably do at every show and they took a handful of questions from the audience. These came from little slips of paper in the lobby you could fill out. The odds of your question getting picked is pretty slim but you never know. If you’re a fan of the movie, this is a must do!

  • Not worth it

We paid about $60 per ticket basically for a large screen viewing of the movie. Cary came out for exactly an hour afterwards to do QandA and promptly left. Cary is great. The experience was not

  • Meet and greet was awesome!

The whole VIP experience was awesome, but I especially loved the meet and greet with Cary. I would definitely come back again for another situation like with another meet and greet.

Wonderful event! Loved seeing the movie in a large screen and sharing it with others. And very much enjoyed the stories Cary told about the actors and the behind the scenes stuff.

This event was so fun! It was great to experience the screening with other like-minded fans. It had all the feels of a premier showing. Laughter, energy, cheering, and a little sarcasm. One thing I didn't expect was the long wait to meet Cary Elwes. The amount of people that paid for the meet & greet was more than I'd ever seen before for other meet & greet events. Well, worth the wait, however, and Mr. Elwes was very kind and appreciative of his fans. He took the time to meet us all. He must've been exhausted, but he never showed it. The behind-the-scenes stories he shared after the screening were engaging and hilarious. The area around the venue was beautiful and the weather held up nicely. My husband and I truly enjoyed ourselves.

Cary Elwes is a marvellous storyteller. He had the audience mesmerized. A phenomenal experience. I highly recommend.

  • a delightful evening!

by ZipW on 3/25/25Coronado Theatre - RockfordRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing this film with this crowd, all of whom LOVE it and have the dialogue memorized, cheering and laughing together, is a fabulous experience. Highly recommend! The Q and A with Cary Elwes afterward is wonderful too! He's great. If you get a seat in the first however many (10?) rows, you can even attend the meet and greet with Mr. Elwes before the movie, and you'll receive a signed copy of his book. Don't miss this event! It's a wonderful time for young and old alike. If he adds more dates, I'd go again and again. Enjoy!

  • Wonderfully Enjoyable!!!

by TheDreadPirateJason on 3/25/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 4 out of 5

Mr. Cary Elwes was thoroughly delightful in sharing stories of his experiences on the set of The Princess Bride! He was very personable, expressing his sincere appreciation to the audience for their continued support of this funny and heartwarming movie. I enjoyed how Cary not only told longer stories that he planned, but also answered "off the cuff"questions submitted by those in attendance. The audience was very much in the spirit of the event, with some attendees seen wearing costumes of "the man in the black mask"or Princess Buttercup. The only slight drawback was that the seats -- at least in the first balcony -- seemed pretty tightly packed together. All in all, a very memorable evening that I will treasure!

  • 1 1/2 hours waiting for thirty seconds

by John on 3/25/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 3 out of 5

After purchasing meet and greet tickets for my wife's Christmas present, we stood in line for an hour and a half. When it was our turn to be ushered behind the curtain, we shook hands with Cary and took a quick photo. My wife had about 15 additional seconds to speak (not sure they really wanted her to) and we were ushered out. We grabbed a book that Cary had signed as we were leaving. We then watched the movie. It was cool watching it with all mega fans that clapped, hooted, and hollered during certain sections of the movie. Then came the question and answer period with Cary. He shared some neat stories about the movie production and other actors. He answered some pre-printed questions from the audience. Then it was over. The venue was good. It cost twenty dollars to park. The seating was comfortable. I'm not sure how to make this better, but having the book signing personalized would be a start. Another would be to limit the meet and greet to fewer people to allow for more time. As for the venue, they could have made the meet and greet line more comfortable. Some older fans had to stand for long periods of time. Refreshments would have been a great touch during the wait. The event saddled dinner time. If they started the meet and greet earlier, it would have allowed ticket holders to grab dinner at nearby restaurants. Overall it was a good event because my wife was happy, and that's all that matters.

  • Fun, but no new material

by NinjaPrincess on 3/25/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 4 out of 5

This was an engaging, pleasant evening. The only down side was that almost all the stories he told were also in his book. There wasn't much new material.

As unforgettable lines echoed through the audience, the five year old in the row behind us added his own colorful narrative. The screening was a uniquely unifying experience that is now embedded in my core memory bank. The q and a with Mr. Elwes was remarkably genuine and entertaining and he exuded grateful humility. The VIP meet and greet, although quick due to the amount of participants, was well executed and very telling of the kind heart behind the actor. Highly recommend this experience and eternally grateful for the opportunity.

Was enjoyable to see the movie with a full house of fans. Even better was Cary's comedic storytelling of many tales behind the making of the movie! A hilarious fun time!!

  • A wonderful experience

    by PinkLed5 on 3/24/25Coronado Theatre - RockfordRating: 4 out of 5

Watching the movie with a theater full of TPB super fans was almost worth the price of admission alone. But having Cary Elwes come on stage afterward and tell us stories was fun, too. He's a great storyteller and his impressions of Rob Reiner and company were spot on. The MC didn't really understand the assignment, though, and her interactions dropped it from a 5 star review to a 4 star. I honestly think Cary could have just done a stand up routine with his stories and it would have been better, but I understand if he's not really comfortable with that format.

  • Great night!

The film was a joy to watch with fellow fans cheering and laughing together. Carey was genuine and made his fans feel as if he had never told the stories before. He is a fantastic story teller! 😄

  • A Memorable Afternoon!

by Rob on 3/19/25UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great pleasure to see The Princess Bride again after many years, and to hear Cary Elwes speak of the making of it afterward was a real treat! After a long career on stage and screen, he was certainly very comfortable chatting with the audience, and his stories were both humorous and heart-warming. It was a delightful afternoon!
