ONE OF THE BEST SHOW WE HAVE SEEN IN A LONG LONG TIME
The Platters were sensational. Lead singer is magnificent, could listen to him all night, he truly has an amazing voice. Captured The Platters sound to a "T". Unfortunately, Danny and The Juniors have lost their voices, they tried hard to put on a good show but, it was just not there. I heard several people talking on the way out, it was painfully sad listening to them and I agreed.
This show was thoroughly enjoyed and a perfect way to spend my birthday.
Danny & The Juniors made for a nice trip down memory lane. Danny's has lost his voice & that made for a poor show. The Platters were the best tribute group I have ever heard. Would like to know where they are performing again. Harrahs should have booked them for a longer period of time.
I made a mistake. I bought tickets for one date and made reservations for a week earlier. We managed to exchange the tickets for another show(The Flamingos. They put on a GREAT show and recommend them to everyone who enjoys oldies. On the ticket exchange we had closer and better seats. The rating above is for the Flamingos.
Watching the Platters was like being at a broadway show, I could have listened to them all night long. Danny and the Juniors is by far the best oldies group I've seen they know how to put on a true show
We have always enjoyed the music of the Platters and this show did not disappoint. We were concerned that, since they are not the originals obviously, they would add too much of their own style and change what we remember so well. But they did not. They sounded much like the original Platters and more!! They were dressed to the nines as well. If you choose to see this show, you will be glad you did. We didn't want the show to end!!!
My husband & I totally enjoyed the whole show. The Coasters were my favorite. I relived my younger days listening & singing with them. Oh, the memories it brought back. I could have stayed there all night listening and watching all the groups perform.
The acts were all great- almost like the good ole days. The entertainers put a lot into each number, even going into the audience to greet people.
Thought the Coasters were very entertaining and that the Platters were awesome. Their lead singer sounded so original (and I don't know without checking whether he was or was not) that I didn't even mind when they changed the arrangement a little. The Drifters, however, were a little of a disappointment. They have been my favorite for years and I was really let down that they did not sing more of the old hits. Also, the lead singer tended to take the songs out much too long. To the point where you were getting bored with it. How could they not do "There Goes My Baby"??????? The show was really good overall and I would not hesitate to come to the Winstar for more in the gendre.
This concert was the best!!!! Will go again next time it happens....
Enjoyed this event tremondously. Music was wonderful and well performed. brought back memories!
All groups did a good job and yes I would recommend this concert to others. I would like to have heard more of each group, 30 minutes is not really enough time.
This was a good show, the guy's had enegry and were still into it.
Loved the music and the band was wonderful. Disappointed that there was no written program with information about the groups and the band. Also expected to be able to buy CD's in the lobby afterwards. Would like to have seen the three groups come on stage for a final tribute. Would have expected the Platters to close the evening as they are the most recognized, outstanding group.
Enjoyed the show. A bit disappointed that the music is just not the same. Now they use an electric guitar and bass and the keyboard with synthasised music replaces the original instruments. Also, would have liked to see the entire cast in a finale. The show seemed disorganized and ended abruptly. I was not sure it was over until the drummer waved his sticks at us.
Artists were good. Great band. Seating sucks big time. I doubt I will be back. I was supposed to meet the guitarist after the show who I know but security wouldn't help me at all. Not a happy camper. One security guy was a jerk. Others were very nice but no one would help me get in touch with my friend
Coasters were fun-Platters were amazing. Only thing that kept this from being 5 stars were the Drifters, Who was this little lead singer? He came out missing words, dropping off of sections of song and looking like he was high...his jokes were off-color. he came alive after awhile and was good, but the beginning had the crowd totally somber after being on such a roll with The Platters, Took awhile for us to feel he was going to be OK and not a train-wreck. I repeat-who is he?
The Platters, Coasters, and Drifters delivered energetic performances featuring great vocals. Certainly worth the price and a load of fun. The lead singer for the Platters was awesome.....
Disappointing. Would Probably not recommend. Band is definitely a mismatch and did more harm than good. Maybe a band with more 50's and 60's music instead of country would be a better fit
