The musicians are genius and magicians. They play these sophisticated masterpieces as if they ceated them. They also bring us back to our best souvenirs. Wonderful!!!

  • Accurate re-creation of early Genesis

by kfz on 6/22/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The music was true to the original. The musicians were excellent. We will definitely go to see this band when they return to the area. We were not disappointed.

  • Impeccable performance!

by Jack Rose on 6/22/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding delivery of Selling England by the Pound with a few additional Gabriel-era favorites!! Marc Laflamme (as Phil Collins) on drums was absolutely incredible.

  • Fantastic

Been seeing TMB for 7 years now in Boston, they kill it every time, you will not regret going if you even come close to enjoying the Gabriel era genius that is Genesis

  • Classics done expertly

Just an epic version of classics you will never see otherwise

  • The Musical Box delivers!

    by Diane B on 1/12/24Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I have only recently gotten into early Genesis with Peter Gabriel. I’ve seen many videos of their performances. Seeing the Musical Box was just like seeing Genesis. The singing and performing of the lead singer was pure Gabriel and all of the musicians were 100% perfect. If you are an early Genesis fan you’ve got to see them.

  • Phenomenal

by Carpet Crawler on 1/11/24The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5

It's an exquisite mixture of concert and museum pieces, with absolute perfection throughout. The music is note-for-note spot on and hearing the historically accurate song set-ups makes you feel like you have been transported back to the blissful days of Genesis with Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett.

  • The Musical Box killed it!

by Sir Trap on 1/11/24The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5

This band is the best! I was in tears most of the night, I have forever been a HUGE Genesis/Gabriel fan, they took me back 50 years... Bravo, bravissimo!!

  • Remarkable recreation

by Wellmontfan on 1/10/24The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5

Second ( or 3rd?) time seeing this group perform and they really are amazing at replicating early Genesis. The musicianship and sound engineering / mixing are super. Worth every penny.

  • Musical box rocks

I was stunned by the musicianship and the ability to recreate such difficult music so perfectly.

  • Great band....blows me away each time

    by E.S on 1/10/24The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5

Being a fan of genesis, seeing the peter era predates me. So seeing the musical box capture and preform these songs are simply amazing. If you close your eyes you swear it was peter singing. Third time seeing them and loved each and every concert. Venue is nice...clean..and neat...however sitting in lower section I was shoulder to shoulder with other concert goers. Too tight. Can't see how bigger people could even sit there.

Excellent performance of early Genesis from each band member.

  • One of the Best Shows You'll Ever See

by Frank D on 1/10/24The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5

For those who don't know, The Musical Box performs exact, and I mean exact, recreations of Genesis shows from back in the day. They are astounding in their note-for-note perfection and breathtaking display of musicianship. They don't write music like this anymore, so it's fantastic that The Musical Box is around to take us back in time and perform this spellbinding music.

  • Stunning! (Montclair show 7th Jan 2024)

by Buster on 1/9/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I've lost count but I think this is the 7th time I've seen the boys..always incredible. The sounds are so authentic but probably 'enhanced' (in a good way)..the growling bass pedals, ever-so slightly queasy analog keys, pinging Rick bass (he must put on new strings every show) and the piano is definitely an improvement on 70's stage pianos. Maybe the drummer is new (I know they've gone through a few) I thought he played a lot more punky and wild than previous guys..if you listen to Genesis live recordings from 70's Phil would occasionally 'go off on one' so I thought this was actually appropriate! Lead singer..what can I say..he IS Gabriel. I hope they don't retire too soon..if so maybe their sons will take over then ;-)

  • Amazing! I cried, I laughed, I cheered

    by Judo on 12/8/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

The most powerful show I've ever seen in my life! The Musical Box was the best show I've ever seen and I've seen a ton of artists

  • A fine evening, mostly

    by Mojogrande on 12/8/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, great musicians. My only beef is that this show was billed as "50 years of Selling England by the Pound". Made me think that I was going to hear the entire album from start to finish. They played most of the album, but not the whole thing.

  • Take a little trip back....

    by LightBulb on 12/8/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

to the 70's. If you are a fan of early Genesis, this is the show for you. I had heard of the Musical Box but this is the first time I had seen them and it truly took me back to my youth. I was fortunate to see the Peter Gabriel version of Genesis several times in my youth and was amazed how the entire band emulated that experience but especially the lead singer. He had the voice, the moves and the stories of earlier concerts. Absolute Perfection!! I drove over 400 miles for the experience and would do it again.

  • Like seeing the original

by Rick C. on 11/23/23The Arena at Pickering Casino Resort - PickeringRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent musicians performing flawlessly! You feel like you were taken back in a time machine to see the original tour.
