I am not a fan of cover bands. I am a huge Genesis fan. I know their music inside and out especially The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Musical Box nailed it note by note perfectly. If I couldnt see what they looked like, I would swear it was Genesis. It blew my mind. I was incredibly surprised. Very Impressive.
The lights, videos, disguises, the stories told, where a replic of what must have been Genesis playing in 1975. But this time I saw them IN NEW YORK, in Times Square… flying on a windshield!
The best Genesis cover band I've seen. Their performance of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was not only incredible but sounded just like the album! This concert was definitely a snapshot of the epic 1975 tour. I highly recommend seeing them.
Major issue started the night when the computer seemed to malfunction and the show was delayed until they rebooted and fixed the lighting and special effects program. Funny because we were staring at the old audio boards and saying 1 computer could perform everything - that went out the window! I felt like the drummer took SO many liberties with the music and never heard that before. There was a portion that was completely improvised or at least sounded that way - nothing to do with The Lamb!! Quite a few musical errors - something I've not heard before during their performances - I've seen then about 10 times now. SO with that said, not running to buy tix anymore. So disappointed.
Musical Box transports you back to 1974 to perfectly recreate this classic Genesis album. The last with Peter Gabriel as lead singer.
Musical Box put 100% into their shows and they did not disappoint - they nailed The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - the musicianship and video were amazing. I took my 14 year old son and he fell in love with the album and stagecraft.
They were so good, it was like traveling back in time to 1974 to experience the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis before they all moved on to do different stuff! A perfect recreation!
Certainly worth the ticket. Theater meets rock concert is a potent formula in the right hands and this show is the genre done well. The performers were excellent and the show itself was a very competent and professional experience, similar to the performance that I saw in ‘76. The band made the material their own and ran with it to the joy of the audience.
The band, vocals and mannerisms were spot on with those of Gabriel, Banks and the rest back in the day.
Muscial Box gives me the chance to time travel and witness all the beauty, mystique, and magic of the early Genesis era. The quality of the playing and the wonderful costumes and slide shows makes you enjoy this mythical music even more.
Flawless interpretation. Amazing sound. Amazing playing. Amazing voice. Amazing staging.
This was the seventh time I’ve seen The Musical Box, and the second time I’ve seen their Lamb show, and I can honestly say they were at their absolute best here! Amazing show from start work to finish!
Incredible experience, a symphony of sound, note for note immersing and enveloping you completely in the Genesis experience
solid show, great as always, the lamb is a fantastic album and deserves not to be forgotten and these guys are making sure that doesnt happen
The next best thing to seeing Genesis perform this concert in the '70s. The Musical Box is an extraordinarily talented group of musicians. This was my 3rd time seeing them and I'm already looking forward to the next time!
I saw Genesis perform Lamb lies Down back in the 70’s. The Musical Box’s performance of this epic album the other night in Boston was miraculous. They captured it all. Bravo!
I really enjoyed the performance, but I believe the sound system needs some work. Not being an expert, I don't know the proper terms, but there were times when the bass would bottom out to hard or the sound just sounded crackly, kind of like a plug was loose or something. Also, the prices for drinks are totally outrageous.
A wonderful night of great music from 1974 being perfectly recreated in 2022. I saw the real deal in 74 & let me tell you, these guys have nailed every detail from that era. The Paladium is a splendid venue and easy to get to. Just a few blocks from Penn Station makes it convenient and just a short walk. I will not hesitate coming back to this venue in the future. I will catch The Musical Box any time they play here again.
