The Musical Box has invented time travel!
by DaveC on 6/20/23Palladium Times Square - New York CityRating: 5 out of 5We went to The Musical Box's performance of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway at NYC's Times Square last weekend. As a 40+ year Genesis fan, it was everything I hoped it would be! The musicianship, the stage presentation, the costumes - I daresay that except for the modern keyboard sounds (true piano and synth polyphony) that just weren't possible in the 1970s, the "left-handed Michael Rutherford," and the "right-handed Phil Collins," you could have put TMB and PG-era Genesis side-by-side on the same stage and struggled to tell which was which. Just a fantastic show all around. At times, their sound overwhelmed the sound system at The Palladium Times Square theatre, but that actually added to the vintage, "perfectly imperfect" look and feel of the show overall. If you're a Genesis fan (or just a fan of progressive rock overall), this is a must-see band!
