  • Unimpressed. Old and tired

by Bob on 1/14/25The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Zero showmanship. Couldn’t see keyboardists hands. Lead guitar seated not often facing crowd. Lead singer couldn’t hit many notes. Colored floodlights left stage gloomy. Disco ball highlight of effects. Tired of white curtains as backdrop. The he show was a let down

  • A Great Bang for Your Buck

by Gassman on 1/14/25The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Seen the TMB 3 times now, absolutely TOP NOTCH reproduction of period Genesis music and theatrics. Can't wait to see them again.

  • Musical Box in TO Jan 2025

by ARose on 1/14/25The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

‘Musical Box’  recreating the Genesis past experience live at the Danforth Music hall (which is not my favourite place for clean sound). Great show but very much a Genesis Live experience and not as much of Selling England by the Pound or Nursery Cryme as I would have liked but still amazing and talented Musicians. Not incorporating Peter Gabriels costumes as much in this Toronto show allowed me and others to appreciate the complex progressive musical subtleties of the Genesis sound. The guitarist and bassist played more acoustics (12 strings). And the harmony of the keyboardist on a Hammond L100 (?) was memorizing. The only other issue was the that the vocal sound was too low. And the front man guitarist was outside of the stage lighting and in the dark too much for my liking. But if you like Genesis or Prog rock, you must experience Musical Box a Canadian cover band

  • Great tribute to old Genesis

    by Bob B on 12/16/24Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Second time I've seen them and I definitely will go back. Like a time capsule to the past. A chance to see and hear that great music from the formative years of Genesis, compounded by the wonderful intimate setting at Birchmere in Alexandria VA. Don't take my word for it thought, just look online for what Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Phil Collins themselves have said about The Musical Box.

  • I know what I like

by Papa Drew on 12/16/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Simply the finest tribute to the most innovative and daring performance band of its era. If you want to see why we all were so into Genesis, go see The Musical Box to experience even a little bit more of what we had. And babe it's gonna work out fine!

  • Outstanding Concert

by Scott C on 12/16/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding show! Happy to leave a review. Sights and sound were spot on...Musical Box takes performing to a new level of excellence. If you haven't seen them perform...and love Peter Gabriel amd Steve Hackett era Genesis...Musical Box is a must see. The band and lead singer are tur musicians and didn't miss a note or beat from original Genesis...never seen a tribute band be able to actually not miss but WOW, these guys nailed it. Can wait to see their next show, will be looking out for their return!

  • Amazing show!

by Dwright on 12/16/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show. They replicated the sound, look and genre of the time. I love old Genesis with Peter, and they played many of the early songs to perfection. When are they coming back to Florida?

  • The Musical Experience

Great Show. The Parker Playhouse is a great venue and the performance was amazing

  • Spectacular

by TGBO on 12/15/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

If I could see any act in the world, this is the act I would choose to see. Having been a super fan of Peter Gabriel era Genesis, there is no act/show that captures the magic of that 1970-1975 era art, theatrics, costumes, lighting, drama, story telling and musicianship quite like Musical Box. The only negative was that they had a no video policy and it was such a wonderful show, I would love to have a few video memories to recall such a wonderful event! Please come back!!

  • Perfect

by Big Fan on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Genesis in the early 70’s in Toronto and fell in love with their stage and sound presence. The Musical Box recaptures all of that. Great sound.

  • Authentic performance

by Htor DeMesone on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The performance was very realistic for a cover band. The singer had every movement to point. The lead guitar was hitting exact notes. The drummer hit Collin’s double beats. Finally, the amazing keyboard performance of Apocalypse in 9/8 organ solo was like Banks. If you want to be transported back to those days, this is the show to see!

  • Fantastic Concert!

by Paolo Scatta on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The only group that makes you live the experience of the original Genesis concerts of the '70s with perfect music and visual reproduction of the original! If you are a Genesis fan you cannot miss it!

  • Better Than the Real Thing

by BTru on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

That’s what members of Genesis say about The Musical Box, and it’s true! If you love early Genesis when they were majestic with longer songs and far out themes this is your show. This band goes all out, re-creating not just the music to perfection, but also the eccentric and over the top persona of Peter Gabriel before he went solo. I felt sort of like they were playing the show just for me, but when I looked around, I saw that everyone else was just as mesmerized. Do not hesitate to be a part of this experience.

  • Must see show

by Pretzel the Magician on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 2nd time that I have seen the Musical Box. If you are an old Genesis fan when Peter Gabriel was the lead singer and Steve Hackett was the lead guitarist - this a must see show. Selling England by the Pound was incredible. All band members are exceptional and the show itself is great. The music was perfect.

  • Must See Act

by Joey L on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

This is my second or third time seeing The Musical Box. They are incredible. They put on a perfect experience and probably put on a better show at this point than the original. If I can, I will never miss a show of theirs that’s within reasonable distance. I found the show so enriching and I’ve been thinking about it for days now. Also, the sound was great. I don’t get that a lot these days with live shows. I try to never go to a show without ear plugs, but, forgot this time. The sound level as well as frequency response was perfect. Loud enough to fill the space with no pain. No lumpy frequencies. The sound engineer was just as great as the band. Lighting these days is usually great, but, very digital. The lighting for this show was dramatic and theatrical. This was probably my favorite use of lighting at any show I’ve ever been to. The performance was perfect and you never hear anything distracting you from feeling like you’re experiencing the original Genesis. Even non-Genesis fans will enjoy this band. Everyone should see them.

  • Time traveling via music, sound and visuals

by Jesus on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve always wanted to see the Musical Box as a life long Genesis band fan. I didn’t have the chance until now and it was amazing. Their recreation of the original show, allowed me to experience my favorite band early era, almost like being there… As a plus I share the experience with my teenage son who also is a drummer and a big Genesis fan and he was impressed and in awe of the talent of The Musical Box to recreate his favorite band as well.

  • Always a wonderful show!

by The Mule on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen ‘The Musical Box’ many, many times and they never disappoint!! They need to come down to the Ft Lauderdale area more often. Hoping their next production is “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” in conjunction with the Rhino Records enhanced 50th Anniversary vinyl and CD releases. Either way, Go see them!!!

  • Fantastic musicians

by Cari on 12/14/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! What a fantastic show! Beyond my expectations! I was transported to the early days of Genesis and Peter Gabriel. The musicians were phenomenal, and the singer channels PG perfectly. Hope to see them again!!!
