THE LAST SHIP is a new musical with an original score by 16-time Grammy Award® winner Sting. Inspired by Sting’s own childhood experiences, this World Premiere production features direction by two-time Tony Award® winner Joe Mantello (Wicked), a book by Tony Award® winner John Logan(Red) and Pulitzer Prize winner Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal), and choreography by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett (Once). THE LAST SHIP is set in the English seafaring town of Wallsend, a close-knit community where life has always revolved around the local shipyard and the hardworking men who construct magnificent vessels with tremendous pride. It is a portrait of a community so bound together by passion, faith and tradition, they'll stop at nothing to preserve the only life they've ever known.

My husband, son and I went to see this. We all loved it. Music was great, voices were exceptional, really enjoyed every minute (and sang along with a few songs because we'd gotten the soundtrack earlier and have been listening to it). Highly recommend it.
I went in with little expectations, however, I was blown away.
The PBS Special last spring sparked my interest. I decided when the show came to Broadway I would see it and I am so happy I did. I smiled, I cried, I laughed and was totally entertained from beginning to end.
Although the story/writing needs a bit of tweaking, the musical was different and exciting. The songs were amazing, everyone had great voices, and the audience loved the show. It is a definite must see!
It was a fantastic show. The music was great. I would recommend it to everyone.
This is probably one of the best shows we've seen and we go to the theater 2 - 3 times a month. The script, acting, music, dancing, choreography, humor this show has it all. From laughs to tears, all of your emotional senses will be stimulated. Best $ spent in a while. If you see only one show this year, this is the one! Oh yeah, music by Sting is just another plus.
The play was Amazing. Loved that there was really 2 stories being told. The music, singing, and everything was just perfect.
The play was so outstanding. Everyone in the audience was discussing the music, singing, acting . . . through the roof. The Last Ship also received a standing ovation at the end.
Thoroughly enjoyable good music excellent choreography
The music, the cast, and the story were involving. The Last Ship was enjoyable from beginning to end (which actually brought tears to my eyes).
WOW. We love the show beginning to end. One the best original plays in years. A must see.
The new musical The Last Ship was terrific! The musical score and lyrics by Sting were terrific! The acting was top notch, the musical was most entertaining! I would highly recommend this play as a must see! After the play the actors and actresses while mingling outside the theatre with the audience were appreciate of the most deserving positive comments they were receiving, well deserved! I have seen a lot of Broadway shows and this one is on the top of my list now!
My husband and I found the music not typical of a broadway show. Very refreshing and relaxing. Did not want it too end. Not all broadway should be explosions fireworks and special effects. Go and be entertained. Its sting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sisters and I love the theater and have seen tons of shows. We rate this one way up there!! The music is powerful, the actors are terrific and the story is all around great.
If you enjoy Sting, you will love this show. I pictured Sting singing in every song which aptly told the story of a shipyard community facing economic hardships. The relationships between the various characters were also well done. I read a review stating disappointment in the lack of depth of the relationships and shipyard activities. This is a 2 1/2 hr. show........imagination fills in the gaps...it was not a problem for me. The performances were well done, the music very spirited and overall a very enjoyable play. P.S. My favorite character and singer was Jimmy Nail who played the role of Jackie White. He was a demanding presence with the sound of Sting coming from his voice.
The music was rousing! All the singers were terrific! I liked the way they changed stage settings from the pub to the boatyard.
I loved the music and the acting! The dancing was also great.
Just wonderful, the music all sting, the creativity refreshing without a lot of insignificant nonsense.
every thing about the show was wonderful-actors-cast-songs-story-sets
