The Isley Brothers on Tour

The Isley Brothers are as much a force of nature as a group you gotta experience them in person to get the full sensory effect. Though some of the original Isleys are no longer with us, Ronald and Ernie Isley continue to front the band in grand style; Ronald's vocal power and Ernie's guitar fireworks are both as strong and soulful as ever. Within seconds of the Isleys taking the stage, it's obvious Ronald was born to be a frontman from his commanding stage presence to his sartorial style and of course his undeniable vocal prowess, he remains a riveting performer. And when Ernie leans into one of his signature licks, like the liquid wah-wah guitar lines of "That Lady," the electricity is coming from more than just his amplifier. Add a killer backup band, dynamic dancers and a thrilling stage show, and you've got not just a show, but a full-blown event.

The Isley Brothers in Concert

Believe it or not, the original incarnation of The Isley Brothers first began performing back in 1954. In the decades that followed, the group evolved through a multitude of stylistic shifts, going from gospel music to R&B to funk and beyond. Along the way they've contributed tons of tunes to the pop pantheon, including "Shout," "That Lady," "Twist and Shout," "It's Your Thing" and "Fight the Power," to name just a few. In era after era, the Isleys have managed to successfully reinvent themselves, even as some of the original members were lost. Now the luminous voice of Ronald Isley and the funky guitar of his younger brother Ernie continue to bring the legacy of the American institution that is The Isley Brothers not only into the present, but into the future as well.

    Isley Brothers

by DeeDee on 11/9/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

I enjoyed the show, I must Say I didn't like the fact that they came on late, and only played about an hour and 10minutes. It was also really cold in the theatre. I would definitely visit again because I like that it's free parking, and also close to home.

Too short for the cost of our tickets

by Sheila on 11/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

The show was good but wasn’t long enough for the cost of the tickets. We have a long pause in the show which was boring almost putting us asleep.

    History, not to be missed

by Tony on 11/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

The Isley Brothers showed the epitome of professionalism, showmanship and depth of musical and entertainment mastery that few command. One can feel the influence of Hendricks and their influence on the Beatles, in their performance. I’m honored to have seen them, before they’re done.

    1 hr performance

by Day on 11/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

The concert was nice but after an almost hour wait and only an hour performance. I was left a little unsatisfied. I understand Mr.Biggs is up in age but he should’ve had an opening act for the cost of the tickets and the inconvenience of it waiting.

    Late start. Early ending

by Alicia on 11/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

The show started 45 minutes late and abruptly ended one hour 15 minutes later. This overshadowed everything for me. They are good but should have more consideration for their paying audience.

I felt like a youngster again remembering the good old days. This music will never go out of style. Ronald and Ernie Isley are electrifying performers. And the backup singers. And the band I’ve been watching the videos that I recorded nonstop. I’m dancing smiling enjoying myself at work and everywhere I go

    Nice

by Dr. Dave Williams on 11/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

My wife and I enjoyed the show. As a musician - guitarist in my mid sixties, I grew up playing the majority of the music I heard at the show, note for note. Very entertaining.

    Birthday celebration with the Isley’s

by PT on 11/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

First of all, my siblings and I grew up on the Isley Brothers. My mother took us to us to our first concert in 1975 at the once known Capital Center in Maryland, and we never looked backed, even as we became adults. My 6 year old granddaughter is now grooving to them. Far as the show at the MGM, I had family and friends, who joined me and my spouse to celebrate my birthday, and although Father Time catches up to us all, I still enjoyed the show, even though it started about an hour late. Nonetheless, Ronald and Ernie are my guys and I can’t dare to batch them.

    Trip down memory lane

by RC on 11/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

All their greatest hits. Ernie was on fire! Ronald seemed to have limited mobility and remained in the middle of the stage. I felt they could have had a short intermission and performed 1/2 hour longer than they did; the whole set was just over 1 hour start to finish.
