The Head and the Heart in Concert
With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.
The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

great stage presence and such a great performance!
for a smaller venue volume way too loud. Love the songs but decibel level too loud for too long
I love music blasting, believe me, but for the first night, Father Jonn Misty's background music was really loud, making it difficult to hear him/his words, etc. Second night, I only stayed for The Head and the Heart, so I'm not sure if there was a difference. This has no reflection on the Head and the Heart, but it did lessen my excitement for seeing them the first night.
Despite the oppressive heat, THATH always put on a fantastic show!
The Head and The Heart played in Columbia, Missouri during record breaking heat (118 degree heat index) and horrible humidity. They were still incredible, brought as much energy as they possibly could have, and played us three songs for the encore. CoMo loves you! Thanks for coming to see us!
A++++++ great show, great venue, perfect evening. Wouldn’t have changed a thing!
The Head and The Heart didn't disappoint. Great show and great sound. Both opening acts were good as well. Pinewood Bowl is a fabulous place to enjoy a concert and the weather cooperated. Loved the entire show.
Great show, would go again tomorrow if possible. This band never disappoints
Up front and personal does a lot for a good concert experience. Third time seeing THATH. I would mention while the acoustics and sound was incredible, along with the band seeming rested; they didn't play a few songs that carry good history for their shows. Maybe even pushing a few that aren't as popular so that kept it from 5 stars. Always recommend this band, however, as they are a dark horse that some people STILL don't know about. Too bad for those people. Pinewood Bowl is a gem and hopefully they continue to hone in on their already nice craft of hosting good bands.
The sound for The Head and The Heart was distorted, echoing off the surroundings into a discordant mess. Very disappointing. That was not a problem with Father John Misty.
Had never heard of THATH and didn't really enjoy the music much. FJM was much better even though he didn't sing the one song I really knew!
We saw The Head at the Heart at Bank of NH Pavillon. There were these obnoxious horizontal LED lights all across the stage and ceiling shining out into the audience that it made it impossible to see the band. There were no spotlights on the actual artists. Not even when the band members went down onto the substage in the pit so you couldn't even see them. I have been to A LOT of concerts and never had horizontal lights like these and no spotlights. I also would have liked a little more audience interaction from the band in the form of a few song intros or a "how you all doing in the back?" etc. We did enjoy the Revivalists.
The Head and the Heart are one of my favorite bands, but the event was misleadingly advertised as starting at 7 o’clock, which with an opener you would anticipate the main event actually starting at 8. However, there were actually several bands playing before them, and they didn’t actually start playing until 9:40. That’s a tough sell for a Tuesday night, especially when you have to be up early for work the next day. More clear advertising would be greatly appreciated.
The band’s music was Terrific! BUT… their stage was totally back light by strobe lights, there were no front lights on the band. As a result the band members weren’t visible to the audience… we never saw any faces of the band mates and rarely saw bodies! This was very disappointing. It is difficult to form a relationship with a band when you can’t see them.
THATH was great, good energy and set list. TING not known for great sound but it was pretty good in the pit. It was fun to see local artists perform before and with them. We are new to this area and have been amazed at the music scene in the Valley. Landon Elliot gained 2 new fans and Illiterate Light was a jolt of energy. Deau Eyes vocalist was great! Would love to her front a small band to give her some punch. I wish the stage could have been set faster for THATH.. it took over 40 minutes after Illiterate Light ended for THATH to come on. They lost a lot of crowd energy to that delay. Honestly the worst thing is the 11pm cutoff at Ting…I think all the bands had lots left in them.
Venue was great - ticket takers went out of their way to assist with tech troubles and were so friendly. Band was even better - can't imagine a better performance.
Not impressed with any of the openers or the extremely long wait for the band to go on. Love the head and the heart. That’s why I bought tickets to see their concert.
Even though we sat in the very back, the show was still absolutely phenomenal. The venue was really neat as well and next time we will plan to arrive earlier so we can sit closer, as well as bringing chairs and/or a blanket. The songs were performed so well and the accompanying lights tied in perfectly. 10000% recommend!!
My friend and I are both yuge THatH fans, so we just had to see them since they were performing so close to home! The concert at the Ting Pavilion on Tuesday, July 11th, was hands down the best concert that I have ever had the privilege of attending in my lifetime! Seriously! Every single one of the opening acts (Deau Eyes, Landon Elliott, and Illiterate Light) were great, and they left us wanting more. THatH put on a phenomenally fun live show, so much so that I'm willing to travel for them just to see them again! Tuesday night is still playing rent free in my head. I highly recommend seeing these guys if you have the chance! They put on one hell of a show! Also, the Ting Pavilion is a really neat little venue tucked into a corner of the walking mall with plenty of eateries nearby to hit up prior to your concert. Just do it, you won't regret it!! 10 out of 10; I recommend and would do again in a heartbeat!
Great concert! Was sad they didn’t ply a few of my favorite songs and no encore, but I’m guessing that was because of the downpour.
