About
The Head and the Heart in Concert
With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.
The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

New Venue hit the spot
by EaglezFreak on 6/10/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5I enjoyed this concert very much, they were awesome at the Schmitt Plaza but here I believe it was even better. Hope they keep them at Penn's Landing!
The Block Party was amazing
by Sssppp on 6/10/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5One of the best concerts I've been to. Will remember this forever.
Head & Heart in Richmond
by Anonymous on 6/6/14The National - RichmondRating: 3 out of 5Honestly speaking, I was expecting more from the Richmond show. I've seen these guys a few times live over the last couple years and was blown away with their energy. This show seemed to lack the amount of spirit I've seen before, especially considering this show was early in the tour and had a hometown element for two members. It was still a good show, but just not as great as I expected. The sound quality was a bit shoddy, too. The opening band, Lucius, was outstanding- awesome performance.
Amazing, Unique Group
by Tikistand on 6/6/14The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5The collective sound that the Head and the Heart produces is so unique, it's unlike anything else you've ever heard. Definitely go see them! They seemed inspired by their fans enough to come back for 5 more songs even after their encore!!
The head and the heart amazing show
by Les34 on 6/5/14STAGE AE - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5The band, venue, and crowd was incredible. A night of great music and energy from the band and a chill crowd that let you enjoy the music, one of the best shows I've seen.
Bad environment
by ErkaLerk on 6/5/14The National - RichmondRating: 3 out of 5Aside from the overhead light that the National refused to turn off, apparently live concerts these days are places to go for people to shout conversations to their friends while the band plays. The entire show was full of drunk people shouting over the music and it was all I could hear. Ruined the entire show. I drove up for this show and had to turn around and drive back home for work in the morning. In hindsight I should have stayed home. Also, not sure if Charity (violin/vocals) was sick or something, but she was off on Monday. Sometimes flat, other times pitchy... Sometimes late on her parts and one time just didn't hit the note at all. It was weird because I've seen shows where she stole the show. The rest of the band played well, again couldn't take much in of the stage lights for mood due to the overhead light on. All in all, bad experience.
Amazing
by Chefianramirez on 6/3/14State Theatre, Kalamazoo - KalamazooRating: 5 out of 5Such a great show and a great band. The crowd was electric! Also, Lucius, the opening band who I was not familiar with at the time blew me away. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone!

I had an amazing time at this concert! Lucius and The Head and the Heart were both incredible. I wish i could rewind to friday to go to this concert again
Lucius stole the show!!!!
by Pappy89 on 6/2/14STAGE AE - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5The opening band, Lucius, performed with such vigor and energy that I would have enjoyed them playing another two hours. This Quintet from Brooklyn, NY has such a refreshing sound (or sounds) that it puts my faith back in modern music. The two main vocalists sing as one, with lead guitar providing unforgettable riffs (often with a slide), the rhythm guitars displayed expertise in a variety of situations and main percussionist provided the backbone of rhythm. Having said that each member of the band has such intrinsic rhythm and percussive skills. The band ended with a dramatic conclusion with 4 of the 5 having some sort of percussive instrument in front of them (snare drum, cow bell etc.) This band truly does more with less. I purchased their CD and also have been watching their performances on YouTube the last few months, but nothing can substitute for such a energetic live performance. The head the heart had some high points (Lost in My Mind, Gone, Down In the Valley) but Lucius set the bar too high to be topped.
Big Disappointment
by brbattag on 6/2/14STAGE AE - PittsburghRating: 2 out of 5Having been excited to see The Head and the Heart for nearly 2 years, this show left me extremely disappointed. And no, I don't think it was a case of me expecting too much. The show lacked energy; everything felt worn out and tired. The energy I had seen on live television performances was completely missing. It was actually so bad, I thought to myself well maybe they are more of a studio band versus a live act. Worst part is that I woke up the next morning with one of their songs stuck in my head, as if to further torment myself all morning. All and all, just a really bad show with the exception of the opening act (Lucius) which showed promise.
The Head and the Heart
by KatLee22 on 6/1/14State Theatre, Kalamazoo - KalamazooRating: 5 out of 5I can easily say this is the best show I've been to. A night full of amazing energy and great music. The band hung out after the show & spent time with the fans. Great musicians & people. I highly reccomend going to a show if you have the chance.
Nice Group
by Anonymous on 6/1/14Masonic Auditorium - ClevelandRating: 4 out of 5I enjoyed The Head and the Heart very much even though there were sound quality problems which made it hard to hear the great voices of all the singers. Listening to the CD afterwards, it was Ahhh.... THAT'S what they sound like! The piano and violin touches were superb. The opening group, Lucius, was FANTASTIC. Five Stars. Quite unique. Great female voices in perfect harmony. The same problem with the sound system, however, kept the audience from a full appreciation of their true talents. I happen to have all their CD's, so I know how wonderful their sound really is. Head & Heart was extremely gracious in their praise of Lucius, and that alone earned them high marks from me.
The Head and The Heart was Amazing
by Sdog1996 on 6/1/14Masonic Auditorium - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5This was my first ever concert and I think it will remain as one of the greatest concerts I've ever attended. They sounded so good, the venue was awesome, and I like that it was a smaller concert.
Unbelievable Night
by emontenegro18 on 6/1/14Masonic Auditorium - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5The Head and the Heart put on one hell of a show. I was absolutely mesmerized. Their singing was full of soul and passion and it rang through the entire audience, all the way up to the top of the balcony. The group sounded better live than they did in recordings even though their albums are some of my favorite of all time. If you get the chance to go, it's worth every dollar and more.
The Head and the Heart great. Sound not so much
by TimmyV on 6/1/14Masonic Auditorium - ClevelandRating: 4 out of 5The band was great, singing most of their hits and some new ones. My beef was that the sound in the Masonic Auditorium was very poor. The "sound crew" seemed to try to compensate by turning up the volume on voice and instruments, and that just made it worse.

Thoroughly enjoyed The Head and the Heart. I will see them whenever they come to town!
