About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

  • Best Chicago venue!

by Jen C on 8/11/25The Salt Shed Outdoors (Fairgrounds) - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

THATH is our number fav 1 band and they are absolutely spectacular to see live. It was awesome to see them at our new favorite venue. Outdoor GA in the Fairgrounds was excellent with plenty of room to stand or grab first-come bleachers, and there’s a great view of the river & skyline! The acoustics were fantastic, everyone at the venue was patient and kind & they were so great about access to water & indoor bathrooms (which were kept up all night!!). Such a refreshing concert experience thank you! Can’t wait to experience an indoor show at The Shed

  • Just GO!

by kndroh on 8/11/25The Salt Shed Outdoors (Fairgrounds) - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Few bands are better than THATH live. If you’ve never been, you are missing a true musical experience. The Salt Shed is a great venue, but it’s about the band. The line up was great for the entire show. I am looking forward to seeing them again and again. If you like their music, you’re truly missing out if you don’t see them live. Next level appreciation for their talent and fan base connection.

  • Great venue great show

  • Loved Everything About It!

by Tom V on 8/11/25The Salt Shed Outdoors (Fairgrounds) - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and The Heart are always fantastic, and I also really like Wilderado. My first time at The Salt Shed and it more than lived up to its reputation as a great venue!

  • Fantastic show!

by Jen B on 8/11/25The Salt Shed Outdoors (Fairgrounds) - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to shows inside at Salt Shed, but this was my first outdoor show, and I wasn't sure what to expect. It was great! I got there early and was able to grab a bleacher seat. (I'm 5' tall, so sight --and not spending hours standing on concrete--were much appreciated.) Also appreciated was the free water-filling station on this hot night. Food choices were excellent. The staff was phenomenal! (And the bathrooms are huge and always clean.) Oh, I should also mention that The Head & The Heart and their opening bands were phenomenal! A+ experience.

  • We always go see them

by Standing still on 8/10/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

The band was amazing always so great to watch. There was a delay between sets that I was longer than usual but everyone has hiccups no and again. I always like the venue I hate the parking availability. As. vegetarian I always expect not to many options, but they surprisingly had several options. My only complaint is Which I know it is on point but six dollars for a can of Coke is Highway robbery I’m paying to be there. I’m paying the parking come on give me that can of Coke. You do not need 10 times the amount it’s worth that would make all your customers happy. I’m sure you can do better.

  • Amazing Band!

Absolutely amazing show! Great night of entertainment. Will definitely be back to see them!

It was an amazing show. They definitely put their hearts into everything they sing and play. Very humble❤️. Great venue too.

  • My kind of show

by CarrieJ on 8/9/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Head and the Heart is a favorite. They are true musicians who know how to work the stage. They combine that art with deep lyrics and soul. This concert was made even better when unbeknownst to me, Wilderado stepped on stage as the opener. I called that the cherry on top of a great evening of music!

  • Amazing experience

    by Chris B. on 8/5/25Riverfront Park - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

Simply an amazing band to see in concert. Must see.

  • Beautiful evening

    by Mimi C on 8/5/25Riverfront Park - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was perfect. Bands were amazing. Music and sound systems were top notch. The fact that folding chairs were permitted made the evening pleasurable. Lastly, the factor that can’t be controlled, the weather, was perfect 10. A musical night to remember.

  • Spectacular Performance

by WXPN Listener & Supporter Dan on 8/5/25Riverfront Park - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first time I saw The Head and the Heart, and they were spectacular! I was blown away. I've heard them played and talked about by the radio hosts on WXPN for several years and I am so glad I decided to go to this concert! The sound, acoustics (it was an outdoor show) and show lighting were perfect, as was the summer evening along the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, and the band's passion for their music and for performing was so evident. With encores, they performed for about an hour and 45 minutes. I can't stop listening to their music and watching their music videos since the concert! I hope I will have an opportunity to see them again in the future! If you ever get the chance, I highly encourage you to go see them.

  • Awesome concert only dampened by rain

by Dan V on 8/5/25Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first THATH concert but I love their music. They played all of the favorite songs and a few from the new album. The band had high energy and the crowd was moved by the love the Richmond native band members had for the city. I will definitely see them again.

  • Awesome and soggy

by Ben on 8/4/25Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing performers, terrific show and set. Weather was lousy- rained the entire time, but they made up for it😀

  • Great show, despite the rain

by Rom on 8/4/25Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

The band sounded great. The only thing I would like for the future is to have some cover so we wouldn't have to stand in either 1) blistering sun or 2) pouring rain. Otherwise, love the venue

  • THATH Gives a Fantastic Concert

by rickalbee on 8/4/25Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Everything (except the rain, which can't be helped) about the Richmond, VA, concert by The Head and The Heart was fantastic. First rate music (as always), high energy, and just plain fun. I look forward to seeing them play again somewhere.

  • Show would have been 5 stars if there was a roof!

by Ellis on 8/4/25Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront - RichmondRating: 3 out of 5

Follow your friends at Ting and put something up like that worst case. Between the sun and rain it's not worth going to a show unless the weather is perfect. Sorry, for Head and the Heart to not get 5 stars but that is the only reason.

  • My head and my heart are the happiest ❤️

by Beth on 8/4/25Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best show I've seen in a long time! They brought the energy and put on a highly entertaining show. I'm already ready for them to come back to Richmond!

  • Rain couldn't dampen our spirits!

by Kb on 8/4/25Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

The constant rain in an uncovered venue might have ruined most shows. But not this one. It was absolutely amazing. The crowd was totally into it. Having two hometown boys in the band made it even more special.
