The Head and the Heart in Concert
With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.
The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

I’ve been a huge fan since first hearing them on KEXP in 2011! My first live show was at Neumo’s when they were the opening band. The Phoenix show this week showed that they’ve still got it! It made my heart happy to see them live again 🩷
Phenomenal show + great crowd + fantastic venue= An incredible night
As a THATH fan, they bring the magic you want every single time. Just a fantastic show.
This was a night of high energy music and fun! We had an awesome experience enjoying music by a band that always delivers! 💙💙
One of the worst sounding concerts in my recollection (and I've been a concert-goer since the mid-80s). Booming bass, vocals totally lost in the associated cacophony. An absolute waste of nearly $200. A sizeable number of folks complained, hoping by the time The Head and the Heart came on the issue would be addressed, but no such luck. We walked out, mid-set, very disappointed.
This is my tenth show after listening to The Head and The Heart for years and years. On vacation with my friends and saw they were playing nearby. So special that I was able to bring all my friends and now they love them, too. The venue was perfect and the band was amazing as always.
Had a fantastic time at their concert in Sac! Great set list, energy, and venue.
So excited to see the band! They are great, and it was an awesome show band-wise. The issue was the volume - sounded like it was turned up for Golden 1 Center. Very bummed, because the bass/music drowned out the vocals.
We went to see The Teskey Brothers…as good as we hoped. We weren’t familiar with The Head and The Heart and were thoroughly impressed! What first drew us in was the dramatic lighting that enhanced every song. We couldn’t sing along but the songs and instruments and harmonies engaged us through the whole show. What really helped make the show were the fans in the audience; their enthusiasm made the show a lot of fun. New fans here!!
This was our second time watching Head & the Heart. It was just as great, if not better than the first time. They put on a great show. Outlaw field is a great venue for shows. My critique would be for traffic management. There was no directing occurring, which led to a gridlock. It would have been avoided had the individual directed pedestrians and bicyclists to allow cars to exit in a timely manner.
Excellent show, top notch musicians and lots of fun. Just wish it had been longer!
The Botanical Garden staff is the best. Great ambiance to listen to a great band.
We were supposed to sit in row 300 but my wife needed a special place to sit and the Astro accommodations were perfect
Had amazing time with the family. The venue had great food options and was super organized. The Head and The Heart were phenomenal and had us dancing and singing alone. Great show.
Try to see them yearly, and especially when close by. Was a beautiful evening to hear songs from the new album as well as some of their classics from years past! Having the kid play guitar during encore was awesome too! See ya' soon!
Great band, great vibe and a super chill laid back venue.
Great event lots of energy from the band as they played hit after hit
First time at The Salt Shed and it is great, perfect size. You can hear and see from pretty much anywhere, and we were not up close, but it was fine. Head and the Heart put on a great show. I've had all their music on my playlists since the concert. Can't wait to see them again.
The Venue, the setlist, the crowd......all top notch!
