About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

  • Great music, fun venue

by Mike B on 5/23/22Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and the Heart was great to see live, I have been a big fan for years. Charity was unable to be there and she was missed but the show went on and sounded great. I was very impressed with Jade Bird, amazing voice and a lot of energy in her music, she has a bright future. First time at Jannus Live and loved the venue, very intimate setting for this type of concert. Would definitely go back there and can't wait to see these performers again down the road.

This was not my first time seeing The Head and The Heart, and let me tell you it certainly won’t be my last. They are my favorite band to go out and see. I can’t wait to see them on their other dates.

This band put on a show that was hands down one of the top five shows I’ve seen. The Head And The Heart brought everything from deep down in their soul! I’d see them again, and again, a hundred times over! ♥️♥️♥️ Absolutely Amazing!! 💙💙💙 Thank you for coming back to St. Pete!

  • Fabulous show

by Jenny on 10/25/19The Fillmore Detroit presented by Cricket Wireless - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I prefer to have seats at a concert, but couldn't afford those this time. Despite that, I had a really great time at this show. Head and the Heart was amazing. This was my third time seeing them and they just get better and better. I can't say that for the opening act, but they were...interesting? Anyway, we had a great time.

I love the venue - great sound, not too big. I've seen a couple of shows there. The Head and the Heart knocked it out of the park though. They brought amazing energy to the stage and the set list was fantastic. Can't wait for them to come back to this area!

  • A Great Evening with The Head and the Heart

by Tesscod on 10/23/19Algonquin Commons Theatre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Algonquin Commons is a good intimate venue. Every seat is good. The only negative is that the ticket time said 7pm but that was just to get into the building. The auditorium doors did not open until 7:30 pm

  • seriously great show

by kwkw on 10/23/19Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

From the openers (Illiterate Lights) to the Head and the Heart, I thoroughly enjoyed this concert. Sound was amazing in the venue, their lighting effects made it even better, and they truly put on an amazing show. They are great performers and really have stage presence. I would definitely see them again.

I didn’t know a lot of the head and the heart music but by the end of the concert I’m definitely downloading more to my playlist. They were phenomenal, very personable to the audience creating a deeper connection to their music. Their sound was mesmerizing, making you want more and wishing it didn’t have to end!

  • Great venue for this band

    by L. on 10/22/19Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Had a great birthday night watching one of my fav bands. Sound seemed off for the first song (lead guitar amp seemed off) but was fixed after the 1st song. Loved being able to sit and enjoy this band and all they give in their performances.

  • Great Experience!

by Bizzle Vazquez on 10/22/19The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Loved it all! From the Opening act to the Beautiful Venue at Port Chester, NY! Loved the Head and the Heart Concert. Wish they would come more to the Southwest part of the country!

  • Perfect

    by Jeno7340 on 10/21/19Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

To start the night with the opener Illiterate Light. So impressed with these 2. Been in the music business for 30 years and have never seen a drummer stand up to play a show. Excellent!!!! Super energetic and all around great music!!!! Kudos for the big sound that came from a 2 man band. The Head and the Heart.....whole different story. First time seeing them, but just knew it was going to be nothing but great!!! Harmony was super good, even tho I saw them cover their ear to hear, but it didn't matter, it was spot on!!! If you want to see a hippie band with love and happiness lyrics, they're the one's for you!!!! Hold on to something beautiful!!!!!

  • Enjoyed Every Second

by Toonces on 10/19/19Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

It's The Head and the Heart. A band with depth, soul, and spirit. And they shared a lovely evening with a full audience, with every number solid as a rock.

  • Bands Great - Seating Wasn't

    by M.S.W. on 10/19/19Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

The handicap seating did not offer a clear line of sight when everyone stood up when Head and the Heart took the stage. The audience stood throughout their performance.

  • Lighting

by Sue on 10/18/19The Fillmore Detroit presented by Cricket Wireless - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

The head and the heart. The concert was great but the lightning was terrible! I sat in the mezzanine And you couldn’t see the band members! To dark on stage!

  • Great concert, minor technical difficulties

by Elaine on 10/17/19UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was awesome - lots of room for seating, great visibility. But during The Head and the Heart's first few songs, the mic was cutting in and out - definitely could have been an issue. Luckily they fixed the issue and the rest of the show went off without a hitch.

  • Exactly what I thought.MLS

by MLS on 10/17/19UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

The show was exactly what I thought it would be. Great. Songs true to the studio versions. Great vocals and playing. The sound was mixed very well. Have followed them for years and finally got to see them play.
