About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

  • H&H Family Fun

Attended the Head & The Heart at Toyota Pavillion in Irving Texas on 8/5/2022 with my wife and 8 year old daughter and had an excellent experience. The 8 year old danced the night away, much to the delight of the other attendees in our row. The band put on an excellent show, was engaging and played a great mix of old and new.

Boy, do I feel stupid. I was alerted that Dawes tickets were going on sale I thought the name of the new album/tour was called The Head and The Heart. Boy, was I surprised when Dawes walked out at 7:30 sharp. I've never heard of The Head and The Heart and for the life of me I can't figure out why they weren't opening for Dawes. Dawes was great but 45 minutes is way too short for them. The Head and The Heart on the other hand were okay. I've never heard of them, never heard a song of theirs anywhere on the radio. They were good solid musicians with excellent voices and catchy tunes but after a bit all the songs sounded alike. The people there to see them seemed to enjoy it so theres that. But, they only played for 70 minutes before leaving the stage before an encore. Way too short for a headliner.

  • I like the Head and the Heart more now.

by Lupe on 8/8/22The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - IrvingRating: 5 out of 5

Such a great feel good show. Lots of positive fun vibes. Young and old came together for this band. And the lighting was amazing which made the show even more fun. Plus the band just sounds great live. I only knew two songs going in but now I know a whole lot more! Their opener was Dawes which I didn't know till I got there so that was a treat!

  • Dawes and Head and the Heart great but set design awful

by Dale on 8/7/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

The music from Dawes and Head and the Heart was amazing. Our view of the Head and the Head lead singers was obscured by terrible set design. Curtains hung down and blocked the view! Frustrating disappointment.

  • Head Over Heels for Head and the Heart

by Robinski on 8/6/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

Such a first-rate performance. Vocals were spot on and music was amazing. A couple "meh" moments: extremely bright lights would shine from the stage out to the audience where everyone was squinting and moving their heads to escape the torture. 45 minutes lapsed between warm up band ending and Head and the Heart going on stage. 20-25 minutes should have been plenty of time to set up equipment

  • Head & the Heart @ ACL

by glennefish on 8/5/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

The band was awesome but the light show at the Moody Theatre was pretty annoying. Perhaps it was because we were sitting in the balcony or perhaps we're just too old.

  • Set design obscured our view of the lead singers

by Dale on 8/5/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

Dawes and Head and the Heart were both fantastic, but the evening was marred by awful set design. It completely blocked our view of the lead singers. Frustrating!

  • Amazing music and venue

by ATXTerra on 8/5/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Both The Head and the Heart and Dawes were amazing. The sound is always perfect at ACL Live and to hear these harmonies with this sound system is the best!!

  • Moody Theatre X H&TH

by Justin R. on 8/5/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, Not a bad spot in the house. GA is great for a club concert feel, and seats are perfect for visibility. Head and the Heart did a great job with their whole catalog, and live-streamed the show. Dawes impressed us once again, never the same setlist.

  • Great show!

by Changomama on 8/5/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Both bands were amazing. We had phenomenally bad seats but we’re still able to totally enjoy the show!

  • I loved the Head and the Heart’s performance at ACL/Moody!

by Julie H on 8/5/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Loved this venue as usual and Head and the Heart were amazing! I was a fan but now a bigger one seeing them live. Wish they would have gone on earlier than 9:45. Dawes was opening band and they were ok.

  • Amazing

by Josh on 8/4/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was remarkable and the sound of the band was just pure joy.

  • Not the greatest venue experience

by AustinFan on 8/4/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

Band was great…when the lights on the stage moved around they hit directly at eye level a bit too much. My friend and I had to look down at the floor a lot because of this (don’t get me wrong, I love a good light show, but this more poor placement). Sooooooo COLD!!! Even with dancing my bones where frozen to the core!!!

  • Awesome band, bad bag policy

by ELR on 6/24/22Leader Bank Pavilion - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Head and the heart was amazing, and I love the venue, except the bag policy. They ask you to leave bags, exceot a small clutch, in the car despite the fact that most people come on the subway, so on a weekday after work, you're screwed.

  • Great experience at The Head and The Heart

by Tim on 6/14/22Leader Bank Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Hi, love the band The Head and The Heart and they did not disappoint us. So much energy and played a long time. Also, love Jay Bird who was on first. We always go to the Bank Boston Pavilion when open. It is the best venue in Boston. I want to report the speakers were not working near our table 28. We could not hear everything and was disappointed. Thanks for asking.

  • Always Great Live

    by J. K. on 6/14/22Leader Bank Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Consistently this band is a showstopper-must see for Indie Music Lovers-only bad thing got Covid-but not band's responsibility-that's all on Live Nation

  • Great night, great venue, great band = great show

by GregDBOS on 6/14/22Leader Bank Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

We had concourse table seats and it was a great warm night with a clear sky. THTH is such a warm sound. People of many ages there, many of them dancing in their seats!!

  • Cool venue not great acoustics

by lmcjv on 6/14/22Leader Bank Pavilion - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Love The Head and the Heart...I've seen them live at least 5 times. Loved the thought of seeing them in an open-air venue, however, the acoustics at the venue weren't great leading to this not being one of my favorite shows.

  • High energy concert by H & H

by Bob on 6/13/22Leader Bank Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Would have been great if they could have played a little longer.

  • GREAT Night Out

Love the band and especially the venue ! Lots of great restaurants and all seats are good viewing!
